This. Virgil has done some internal work and also cut back/crowned the barrel. Runs flawlessly. Use Tripp Corey mags, load long and you are set...by far my favorite gun in my collection.

I've got the Sig magwell grips on one of my 226s and with the Mec-Gar +2 basepads, they load/seat just fine. This particular gun is used for other purposes, so my '04 226 is used for IDPA/USPSA when I need a break from single stack. But not having a magwell for gaming hasn't been a problem. It's all about practice.

If you are looking for just the grips and not the internals, let me know...I switched my E2 grips out for old style and have a brand new set sitting around.

Nice. At that price, it's almost tempting to order two! I've tried to locate another one for the same price for my dad, but no luck. Instead, I found a mint used one that will do just fine.

My last IDPA I shot my P226 and only got beat by a couple guys in the NFC division. I was content with that...

I lucked out and picked one up about 2 weeks ago from a different seller for $620...that seller now bumped them up to $729...

That would be nice, I might even step up from production if they did Uh, no, Jon...leave us in SS alone! Ha!!! But I do know where there's a local RO for sale...and so do you!

I use the 10mm Tripp mags with the hybrid follower and they work perfectly. I had some troubles with the metal follower, but Tripp swapped the out and they have not had a problem since. They system mags, I believe, run the hybrid follower.

Just checking to see if anyone has a nice set of P229 polymer grips they aren't using. I haven't decided if I really like the E2 grips and want to try the old/traditional grips. Thanks!

Mag well style...they will look great with the ICE...I can send you a pic of what mine looked like, but that's the route you want to go if you go with VZ.

I would give Tripp a call, especially if you are going to use their 10mm mags. With the work he has done to mine and using their 10mm mags, my Trojan runs perfectly...user problems, well, that's another story...

I would guess Bobby at Freedom Gun Works or Matt Cheely. Matt did great work on my Edge. My Trojan has always gone to Virgil Tripp - he has done barrel/reliability work and also cut and crowned my barrel. He does great work.
