  1. This. Virgil has done some internal work and also cut back/crowned the barrel. Runs flawlessly. Use Tripp Corey mags, load long and you are set...by far my favorite gun in my collection.

    P226 Limited 10

I've got the Sig magwell grips on one of my 226s and with the Mec-Gar +2 basepads, they load/seat just fine. This particular gun is used for other purposes, so my '04 226 is used for IDPA/USPSA when I need a break from single stack. But not having a magwell for gaming hasn't been a problem. It's all about practice.
  3. If you are looking for just the grips and not the internals, let me know...I switched my E2 grips out for old style and have a brand new set sitting around.
  4. Nice. At that price, it's almost tempting to order two! I've tried to locate another one for the same price for my dad, but no luck. Instead, I found a mint used one that will do just fine.

    Sigs in IDPA

My last IDPA I shot my P226 and only got beat by a couple guys in the NFC division. I was content with that...
  6. I lucked out and picked one up about 2 weeks ago from a different seller for $620...that seller now bumped them up to $729...
  7. That would be nice, I might even step up from production if they did Uh, no, Jon...leave us in SS alone! Ha!!! But I do know where there's a local RO for sale...and so do you!
  8. I use the 10mm Tripp mags with the hybrid follower and they work perfectly. I had some troubles with the metal follower, but Tripp swapped the out and they have not had a problem since. They system mags, I believe, run the hybrid follower.
  9. Just checking to see if anyone has a nice set of P229 polymer grips they aren't using. I haven't decided if I really like the E2 grips and want to try the old/traditional grips. Thanks!
  10. Mag well style...they will look great with the ICE...I can send you a pic of what mine looked like, but that's the route you want to go if you go with VZ.
  11. I would give Tripp a call, especially if you are going to use their 10mm mags. With the work he has done to mine and using their 10mm mags, my Trojan runs perfectly...user problems, well, that's another story...
  12. I would guess Bobby at Freedom Gun Works or Matt Cheely. Matt did great work on my Edge. My Trojan has always gone to Virgil Tripp - he has done barrel/reliability work and also cut and crowned my barrel. He does great work.
  13. http://montanagoldbullet.com/public_html/magento/index.php/catalogsearch/result/index/?limit=all&q=bullet Try this, my old link to the pricelist didn't work either. It was up just now. Aha, thanks much! That did the trick!
  14. Sorry for your loss...you gave Bennie what he needed most in life - love. And, in only 5 short years, he gave you a lifetime of memories.
  15. I currently shoot Berry's 180 gr round nose - would there be any advantage/disadvantage with going to a 155gr round nose? Thanks!
  16. Once you get the assembly/disassembly down, it's a breeze. There are some good vids on YouTube that will show you how to do just about everything you needs for a 19/2011. Some are a bit better than others. When you get the ammo you ordered, keep track of the details of that load - OAL, crimp, bullet weight, powder charge, etc. if that ammo runs great and you decide later to reload your own you might want to replicate that as best you can unless you come up with your own recipe. It took me a few tries before I landed a final recipe for my reloads...and don't be surprised if you ask on here what a good one is...you'll get more than you have bargained for! But find one that your gun runs and runs well and stick with it. Good luck and enjoy it!
  17. +2 what Carmoney said...especially if you can find someone to do the front sight for you if you aren't comfy doing that. Magwell is easy swap. But since you asked, my two choices would be Tripp or Cheely since they have done work for me and I have been more than pleased.
  18. No sure what you are asking exactly...if you are wondering what a DP Super Tuned Edge consists of, you can get that info from their website. As far as "identifying" marks - such as??? The only intentional markings you will see will be on the slide frame and barrel where the slide/barrel should have the same last two digits from the frame serial number etched into them. Since you are the third owner, what has been done to it from STI to Dawson to the previous owners to you is a guessing game...maybe something to have looked into before buying it, because now, if you decide to sell it, you might not be able to tell potential buyers anything. Not trying to bust your chops, but it sounds like you made a purchase without doing the homework and now want others to figure out what you have...would you buy a used car without knowing its history? If the gun runs great, then just shoot the thing and worry about it when it stops running well. I would try contacting Dawson or STI again...you might have caught them at a bad time to go back and check their records. I am sure that if you have a match this weekend, surely there will be someone there to suggest better smiths than what you have dealt with...good luck with it...I love my Edge from DP!
  19. I have the STI Trojan in .40 and run the Tripp mags. That being said, it ran rough at first, but a quick visit to Tripp and the gun runs perfectly. The only thing I would have done differently was use the Tripp 10mm mags in stead of the 40 mags to load a little longer to match my Limited load. What I love is that my wife can shoot the snot out the 40 where the 9mm was too snappy. The Trojan is one of those guns I will just keep forever.
  20. So as I shift my photography interests and try to sell a rather $$$ lens, I hate getting scammers who are obviously not here in the US and then try and bully the sale. One just last night informed me he was in TX and was leaving for a 3rd world country soon, so "hurry up please and tell me how to pay!" After doing a little research, the peron doesn't even exist... Sad that some just can't make an honest living and instead try to scam/steal from others.
  21. Dawson does still offer a Super Tuned Edge, too, aside from their CRP version. It's a little more, but well worth the additional cost. I have one, love it, and recently had Matt Cheely do some slide work...absolutely LOVE the gun! My mistake. I could have sworn the last couple of times I looked on their website when I was selling my supertuned edge, it wasn't there. No probs... Yeah, unless you are looking specifically for it, you will miss it on their site. They are really advertising the CRP guns more it seems...guessing because of the lower price point of $200. To me, I guess I don't get why a person wouldn't spend an extra $200 to have Dave tune it up and have it be super reliable. Mine hasn't had a single hiccup except for a feeding issue - I reloaded an empty mag (how's that for being a space cadet???) and the darned gun wouldn't go BANG...guess you actually need rounds in the mag...
  22. How's that shooting? Looks great! Dawson does still offer a Super Tuned Edge, too, aside from their CRP version. It's a little more, but well worth the additional cost. I have one, love it, and recently had Matt Cheely do some slide work...absolutely LOVE the gun! It's like butter, Joe...now it's like what to do with it next???
