What "he-man" Should Be
JWK replied to Eddie Rhodes's topic in Multi-gun Rules / Stage Design / Match Administration
I'll stand with Eddie Rhodes. The only deviation would be to load 8 in the rifle mags so the M1 Garrand can play on a level field. Hell for that matter make the HE MAN an 888 match. -
Did they change the USER/PASSWORD for the members area? <deleted> is not allowing access.

This will be my first Nationals so I have nothing to offer in the form of suggestions for improvement. My match experience is limited to 3 Florida Opens, 2 Area 6's, 1 Georiga State, 1 Florida State and 1 Alabama State. I participate as a shooter and vendor. As a shooter I appreciate low cost amenities like iced water on every stage, shade, and enough table space for my gear and people pasteing targets so shooters don't have to. I appreciate not having to walk a mile when the urge to purge hits me. I like safety areas on every other stage to clean and check out my gun. I like GOOD food served on the range like brauts with peppers and onions and gyros. If all of the foregoing is available I am a happy shooter.

Not being a top shooter, I have never visited a prize table. The closest I came was the 2004 Florida Open; my friends dog passed away Sunday and we had to get home early. Listening to a few of the USPSA members recount past matches I get the impression that the prize tables were more bountiful in the past than they are today. Some people say there are more matches, so the support from industry and vendors is diluted. Some say vendors are reluctant because they are not being supported. They state "we were there for you before the internet" One vendor I spoke with is cutting his match schedule from 31 last year to 10 this year. He is going to start vending at the SASS and 3-Gun Matches. Has the internet turned the Match Vendors into a relic of the past?

More Trouble For S&w
JWK replied to Carlos's topic in Miscellaneous Topics That Do Not Fit in Any Other Forum
It is embarrasing but I don't think it will harm S&W. The guy screwed up , paid his bill and built a new life. I call that admirable. -

I look at IDPA like an EX WIFE, the bitch was, is and never will be happy; that doesn't mean I won't tickle her every now and then

I believe JLHARDY stated at the Georgia Match there are two commerical brands of ammo that would make Major. JLHARDY was receiving a lot of interest at the Georgia match, the buzz was his guns nearly swept the Mississippi Match. As a die in the wool Limited shooter, I will say that I very tempted to get one for CCW It would be nice to see photos of all the different shortys with prices for a side by side comparison.

What makes you think they will be cheap?

My STI mags hold 18 .40's, what will be the round capacity if I buy the new product?

After owning a P14 and a P16 Limited I want nothing to do with Para, ever again, I mean this from the bottom to the top of my heart mind and soul. AAARRRAAAGGGHHH! Wanting the BEST production gun I could buy I chose STI. I could have waited months to get a SV, but I hate to wait. If SV had any inventory I might have gone for one. Having shot both in Limited configuration, I could find no discernable difference between the two. I thank Strayer and Tripp everytime I pick up my Edge, it is truely a work of TECHART. I hope and pray the sun setting on the '94 Crime Bill will give both companies a well deserved bump in business and provide them money for more innovations. The new STI 9mm for open looks very cool: it will be interesting to see what SV comes up with; that goes for JL Hardy as well.

I would like to see a weekly hour long program that featured USPSA/IPSC. I would like to view World Shoots, Nationals and Area Matches. I think it would be a great benefit to the sport and the public. I don't worry about the anti's as they will slander libel and lie anyway. As to "unwanted participants" I have absolutlely no idea what that means; "unwanted attention" likewise. While I am at it, I would like to for all the old Front Sights to be put online.

A couple of years ago a friend said "Hey, we're shooting IPSC Friday night would you like to go?" I showed up with my P16, a Fobus holster and mag pouch. WHAT A BLAST! I could have taken my 1911, Sig or HK and had just as good a time. This past year I purchased a Edge and all the trimmings. The beauty of L10 and Production is that newbies don't have to buy much to get going; they serve as an inexpensive entry to the world of IPSC. P.S. Most of our clubs new shooters are Production and L10.

Will this have any effect on the point series?

Mac Or Pc
JWK replied to Merlin Orr's topic in Computers, Cameras, and Electronic Devices of Any Kind
I just purchased a pair of Apple's 12in G4 laptops at the behest of my daughter. I was fearful as I knew nothing about Apple. If I can find where they put the RIGHT click I won't be going back to pc. STI and MAC, life is pretty good -
Best Gun To Buy For My Fiance???
JWK replied to PistolPete's topic in Miscellaneous Topics That Do Not Fit in Any Other Forum
Now your on the correct wavepath. This is the first of hopefully many guns. Everyone I know started with a 22. She came to guns late in life and the 22 is a perfect start for anyone at any age. I've made a lot of money buying guns that men thought their women would love. -
Microsoft Admits Something
JWK replied to George's topic in Miscellaneous Topics That Do Not Fit in Any Other Forum
Israel is done with MS and is working with other countries to develope open source programs. I've been told that the hiring of temps to debug their products has lead to more back doors than they can ever hope to close. When you don't take care of your employees they learn to take care of themselves.
