  1. I changed to an older tool head that was making 9mm ammo. As of now I think I found the sweet spot for all of my dies. Everything worked good yesterday. Thats good news!
  2. Also a friend of mine had to return the die holder on his 650 recently. Its slightly off and caused timing issues. Bullet was a little side ways when it was being seated cause the die holder was out of spec a little. He called Dillon and they sent him a new one, problem solved. Im thinking maybe thats whats causing the bulge?
  3. I guess my loading bench is cursed. Same issue with two different presses and two different sets of dies. Maybe I could get you to teach me how to pull the handle better lol. I made 600 last night for cowtown and had 75 not gauge. Hoping the new redding dies are the ticket. If not I'll try a push through sizer then last resort is new brass I guess.Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk Did you try to check if a piece of something is stuck inside the die?
  4. Ive shot about 8K of Ibejihead 200 gr .401 in my stock STI Edge on a Dillon 550 with an EGW U die. Not one issue! FWIW
  5. Till u get caught with those mags in NJ Then it will be a big deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The problem he is facing is he lives in NJ. We have a 15 rd mag capacity. I had to go with the Tanfo cause they have 15 rd K40 mags. The CZ 40 mags is 16 or 17 round mags. That is illegal to own in jersey unless there's a permanent block to make it hold to 15 rd. It's not that hard to do but I just didn't want to deal with it. Plus , some companies won't ship you those mags over 15 rds. You can easily put an indentation like the 10 rd Mecgar mags that limits the capacity to 10 but I believe the body is the same as the 17rds mags. He would have to do that to his CZ mags before they become NJ legal. The tanfo mags just makes it more flexible. It's 15 rds by nature and he can change the basepads and spring/follow to make it competitive in free states like PA. The CZ mags ones pinned, won't be as flexible.
  7. Cz used to have an edge but with Henning Walgren,Ben Stoeger , JJ Racaza, etc... Seems tanfo is catching up fast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Theyre basically the same gun since tanfo got the design from CZ but the tac sport is a little heavier. If you shoot in OB or CJ, send me a PM. I can have a buddy show you his tanfo.
  9. I get lost on the Tanfo models. Is that this one: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=554257594 ??? Also what's the difference between the Elite Limited and Elite Limited Pro? I'd like the flexibility to shoot matches outside of NJ as well[/quote Yes thats it! You want a single action pistol for limited or L10. The limited pro is a double action then single action gun. Built more for production division. So with the mecgar k40 mags, you are legal in NJ. Then buy a couple of extended basepads & internals for matches outisde NJ to give you 19-20 rds. Then convert them back to 15 rds coming back to NJ. CZ mags arent legal in NJ and they would have to be pinned. My buddy went through this and wishes he bought the tanfo instead
  10. If youre in NJ, youre better off with the Tanfoglio Elite Limited. Identical gun and has mecgar 15 rd mags.
  11. I don't own either but have close friends who own both. Both are built well but SV got better materials. Where do they differ? Customer service! I guy I shoot with said he called Limcat twice and left a message to order 2 open guns and never got a call back. Okay, maybe someone or my buddy made a mistake. A buddy who I'm close with that owns one for about 3 yrs now have gotten screwed with repair times on a couple of occassion by Limcat and had to follow up several times. SV on the other hand, has awesome customer service from what I've seen. Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps.
  12. Thanks for that! I was looking at the Everglades one but matrix is half the price. Anyway here is a pic of the slide with the new sti tactical frame. It looks like a little off on the side of the frame and it should go in.
  13. Thanks again for the information guys! I may know someone with a mill but hopefully all I have to do is use a filing/stoning tool like the one everglades ammo sells.
  14. Yes they do but I believe I would have to mill the sight cuts plus fit the barrel. Knowing that this upper has a good fitted barrel already, i thought it may be easier. I appreciate all the input! I found a frame from speed shooters and will slowly give this a shot! Found a buddy who has built a couple of 2011 that is willing to help.
  15. Living in the Republic of NJ, we have to apply for pistol permits for every pistol purchase and can only purchase 1 every 30 days. Applying for permits is a task itself. My friend selling me the upper gave the frame to Limcat so he can build on it so he doesnt have to apply for permits. For the price that hes asking for, hes basically giving it to me and thats where my idea came about.
  16. Thanks guys! I appreciate the input. I may have to give this a second thought! Lol
  17. Hi Guys, So I am looking to assemble a backup 2011 gun on the cheap end. I have a friend selling me an STI Edge complete upper. I am about to order an STI frame with a ramp cut. My question is how much work would it be trying to fit this together? Does it look like I would just have to file a little material here and there? I am thinking how since both are from STI, the specs should be close and maybe not need a lit of fidding. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Best Regards, Ryan
  18. They covered it in plastic like they covered the paper sheets.
  19. had rain and hail last year in St. George. Everything ran fine. Rain was much worst in St. George than FL in my opinion. Weather dropped from high 80s to 60s there and we were all cold and wet for a day!
  20. Ken Nelson's. He probably has a truckload of them. He also travels to several major matches each year and scores with his gear. Wow! and he doesn't get paid for this? That man has a big heart! I mean he had battery backups at all 28 bays last year for them too.
  21. Wait, who's iPads were they using in last year's nationals in St George?
  22. Could all of this be political as well? Didnt the President and Exec Dir got mad at Ken Nelson because of money or something? In terms of using Practiscore and having to talk to Ken Nelson for his expertise.
  23. I shot Nationals last year and shot Limited & L10 this year. Both matches ran great. In my humble opinion, I liked last year's ipad electronic scoring better and they seem to be easier on the RO. Not having to add, and just pressing the ipads seems better than writing. Even in the hail and rain, the iPads worked great. I think it's just a matter of what the range can execute better. It seems electronic scoring use less people at the stat shack than paper scoring. I really don't know how many people were typing in the scores manually behind the scenes. From what I understand, it would have to be verified by 2 individuals. I have heard that in the Indiana sectional, the shooter must press save to verify that they agree with the scores. I think that is the way to go. Just my 2 cents
  24. Last year was my first Nationals match in St. George. I found those stages to be great and the match ran smooth. Even with a hail and rain, I thought everything went well. You didn't find the stages okay?
  25. Sorry if this is a dumb question but last year was my first USPSA Nationals in St George. There were a handful of vendors there and wanted to know if there will be vendors again this year? If there are, do we have a vendors list? Thanks Ryan
