  1. hey robby it doesnt look like you're having any trouble with the mag changes i tried a paddle once only once after i dropped the mag on the draw i never put one on again i like to think it's more about being proficient with what you have instead of trying to compensate with new toys and gadgets thats not to say some of these things don't work ,personally i like to keep it simple i think you'r mag changes are fast enough just practice without it and keep shooting
  2. this is one of my favorites "Chuck Norris lost his virginity before his father did" true story
  3. i was doing awesome with a 14000 something until my wife tried it and was getting .15 reaction times then i turned it off and vowed never to play that game again thanks for nothing
  4. I was out practicing and i tried making my grip firmer as the shots got harder it ended up being successful for me i was getting better points on the harder targets, it does seem like it was a little slower on the easier targets but it was worth it I was wondering if anyone else does this.
  5. this one struck a chord " people are so afraid of death that they forget what its like to live" pretty profound from a bunch of jackasses
  6. mike i think i have the same gun and i tried to put an ed brown on it but since it is an earlier frame there is a gap between the frame and the beaver tail that doesn't look quite right i talked to my gunsmith and he said he had to weld up the frame and fit the safety that way just trying to give you a heads up before you get yourself in a bigger hole then you anticipate i dont know if they make a drop in one but i never liked those anyway good luck
  7. we are lucky i was reading the other day that Sierra Leone is paying $18.42 a gallon man i'm glad i don't live there
  8. my local range has a bay that is 100y by 100y and they sometimes fit two stages on the one bay well this was the case on this particular day and I was ready or so i thought so after i get the command i load and i think i got a command about understanding the course of fire but i wasn't listening anyway i shot my way through the first stage and started running to the other without sopping in between i can still remember the sound of the ro's rear puckering and i think there was some yelling in there too. and after all these years i still get flack about it.
  9. has anyone ever heard of anything like this man i still don't believe it man i sure hope they don't do that anymore!
  10. one thing that helped me alot when i was starting out was a quote from saul kirsch "don't try and go faster or look good , but stay in control of your sights and your shots" i would write that down before a match just to remind myself to do it man that just struck a chord and i think thats the way to shoot
  11. I tried this on sunday i was getting them in the mid .60's but I wasn't hitting much
  12. What is your fastest shot to shot reload?
  13. I am loading 38 super comp, and i am seating primers pretty deep i don't know how to measure this but they are not getting disfigured they are just deeper than any other ones i've seen. is there any down side to doing this or is it okay? I have noticed inprints on my breach face and i was wondering if this was the cause. thanks for the input!
  14. I was going trough the same situation a few years ago and i decided to go with a schuemann barrel with holes (38 super 3 hybrid holes). now after that i needed a back-up gun so my gunsmith decided to try something. he built the second gun identical to the first with the exception of the barrel of the back-up we got a schuemann barrel with the rib but without the holes. so i loaded ammo for the each one trying to keep the power factor the same for each gun. so after all that i went out and shot the heck out of them. the differences were not that substantial but i could tell. the gun with the holes was a little flatter shooting, a little harsher in the feel of recoil, and of course louder but thats not an issue unless your behind the timer. the gun without the holes felt a little softer but it had a little more muzzle flip. another thing i noticed is that you use a little less powder to reach the same velocity. after i came to this conclusion we tried putting one hybrid hole in the rib, then two, then finally three the same as the first gun. and thats what ive been shooting since. now with all that said i believe most of this stuff is personal preference. its all about how proficient you are with what you have. it's not going to make that much of a difference but practicing with it will. after all that my answer is... wait what was the question again?
  15. in my opinion for whatever its worth confidence plays a big part wether that be in the shooting itself, the movements, or the skills in general knowing where the shot is going before it gets there means so much (calling your shots) and the same said for knowing that you dont have to worry about the reload because you have practiced it to perfection or any other skill for that matter now with that said you can still make mental mistakes it only takes a split second to lose focus and thats when you flub things so i guess confidence and focus are my answers to the question if there was one
  16. i have had aftecs break one side of the saddle, on both sides of the saddle, and had the hook go out on one. but i keep using them because they are still the best out there. i have gotten in the routine of checking it every so often or before the big match carefully looking at the saddle (cap) for cracks its just one more thing i have to keep my eye out for one more thing you have to deal with shooting open well now that i just jinxed myself i better go check it cause its probably broken
  17. g-man bart i just watched your dry fire the first thing i saw was when doing a turn and draw i believe it is best to snap your head to the first target and let your body follow it around. another thing i had alot of trouble with myself was the footwork. pivoting on your strong side foot while turning. one thing that helped me was getting in my shooting position then reversing to the starting position as if to go backwards before i started the drill. as with every bit of info you get take it with a grain of salt everyone has their own way of doing things
  18. now i can quit shooting i have inspired somebody but to my defense the .68 was an accident i was aiming at the berm and the target got in the way as for the drill i have done low 8 sec without dropping points this was the point of that particular drill not dropping points we were just trying to find out how fast we could go which totally contradicted the point of the drill
  19. so is it confirmed did max beat eric ? is this guy human or not?
