  1. I am running a Limited 40 and also ran into this problem. Much worse that what you are encountering. In the end, a good crimp and shorter bullet worked for me. Running 180gr PD FN at 1.30 OAL.
  2. Thanks for the information. Looks like 1.135 is the consensus.
  3. I just purchased a new blued long slide in 9mm from EAA for my Limited 40. What OAL works good with the Long slide in 9mm?
  4. I have noticed this when loading 40 in new magazines with extensions and springs. Mine are caused on the last few shells from the magazine loader when I push them down forcefully. Still seem to shoot fine.
  5. Thanks John. Seems like I cant go wrong for $300 :-)
  6. Thanks! Wonder if it requires fitting? Not a problem but wanted to km ow.
  7. I have a limited 40. Would the 9mm long slide work on that lower?
  8. Thanks for all the replies. Davo your giving me a good starting point. The issue here is getting powder. A friend loaned me 2# of VV N320. I also will try some WSF as soon as I can find it :-)
  9. Just purchased a Tabfoglio Linited gun and need some advice on a good major load for USPSA Limited competition. Have access to some VV N320 and possibly WSF. Ill Be using 180gr Precision Delta bullets. Any suggestions appreciaated.
  10. Thanks for the load. It looks like AutoComp and 6.8 to 7.0 grains is a good load for several people.
  11. Enjoying this thread. I am looking for a Major Load for my Open Glock. I put it together with a Jager kit and KKM Barrel. Have been shootging a minor load, 4.2 Titegroup, 124 MG and OAL of 1.135. I do not want to hijack this thread but if anyone has a major load for this particular set up, please let me know. I can see I will need to go to a higher powered recoil spring an possibly change the comp.
  12. I am doing some research for a load that will drive the comp on my open gun, but I do not have to make Major PF. I put together a Glock 17 with a KKM barrel and Jagger open kit. It will not run with my regular loads of 4.0 grains of titegroup and 124 grain MG CMJ bullets. A local gun smith got it to run with Factory Aquila 124 grain. So who could suggest a load from either of the three powders I have around to run this comp? I tried 4.9 grains of N340 but that's not hot enough. Any suggestions appreciated.

  14. Wonder if any of you have encountered this problem. This is a new Ruger 22/45 MKIII pistol with 5 new MKIII Magazines for the 22/45. They are very close to inserting but not locking up all the time. I removed the barrel, disconnect etc. and the problems remains the same. The mag release does not return full to the left all the time. Possible the mag release needs polishing. Anyone know how it is removed in this pistol?
  15. Thanks! I am loading up some and have 4.7, 5.0 and 5.3. I'll go up more on one more set. Mike
  16. Does anyone have a load they us for shooting Open/Minor? I use a Glock 17 and shoot 124g MG CMJ bullets. How many grains do you use of the VV N340? Just testing this powder out.
  17. Thanks Scooter. Glad to hear the setup works!
  18. Hi Jack: I have considered this. If the slow burning powder does not work this is my next option.
  19. I am putting together a G17 for 9mm open (minor). Using the GSSF kit from Jager with a KKM Barrel, Jager Comp, 11 pound recoil spring. I used my normal load of 3.9 grains of TiteGroup with 124 grain MG CMJ, Super accurate pistol BUT it wont cycle. So I have some slow powders I am going to experiment with. Can someone suggest some loads using WSF or V.V. N340 for 9mm minor loads? Thanks
  20. Hi Nathan: I carry striker pins, spare springs for striker, striker safety, firing pin and an extractor. Problem is you cannot buy an extractor and they want the gun sent in to them for "Fitting" :-) Really though with thousands of round through my XDm 9mm 5.35, I have had no need for spare parts yet, but they are in my range bag just in case. You have a great competition gun.
  21. Hi Kurt: I have 2 of the 5.25's and they have been worked on by Springer Precision. All I can say is that they are extremely reliable and very accurate when I use the sights :-) About once a month I will have a stove pipe, usually the last round fired on targets where I am moving to another part of the stage. I am pretty sure I am loosening my grip and getting ready to move and/or reload before the last round ejects. Basically a solid pistol. All of my holster are from CompTac and they have several options. Good Luck, I think they are a great pistol.
  22. I have 2 5.25 XDm's that have been modified by Springer. I chose 2.5 pounds. I think that 3.2 would be a better choice based on my experience with the pistols in competition. Scott Springer and his crew do a great job and I am very satisfied with everything they have done. The 2.5 was my choice. Good luck I do not think you can go wrong with Springer Precision.
  23. Does anyone know where the Tokyo Marui XDm 40 can be purchased? I have looked around but see most are sold out.
