  1. Hi Kevin! I am probably a month or so away from going in this direction, so it would be fun to talk and learn more about it from you soon. Cheers, Kent
  2. I snap my visions to locate the target spot, then bring my vision back to the front sight as the gun drives to the target spot. I want to see the front sight in a razor sharp focus. I can do this faster than I can move the gun.
  3. Justforfun, can you share OAL and recoil spring weight for this load? I am running 3.2 Solo 1k with 180gr Billy Bullets (G35)and a stock barrel. I am getting close to my match load, but my ejection pattern is slightly week and straight up and sometimes landing on the barrel and sometimes on my hat.... Feels real nice but I will probably go with 3.3 for this weekends match. Thanks for any thoughts
  4. Flex, Thank you and you made it so clear that I think, even I can follow the process! I will see more and let time take care of itself as I would rather build a firm foundation from the beginning... I will start working on it tomorrow and get to work on getting Alec on board.... Thank you for chiming in Brian!
  5. Any thoughts appreciated and Brian, please jump in if you wish. I have a question on the drill in regards to sight picture. In snapping my eyes from one target to the next (dryfire) (5 yards in semi well lit garage) and pressing the trigger, I am never really getting a good view of the sights (I am matching the 5 sec par time on timer). In live fire, it is the same thing and yet I am getting all A's in just a little under 7 (10 yard line outside) seconds from the draw with the same view of the sights, so I can only assume that it is because I am indexed well as I get to the center of the A zone and pull the trigger. I feel as if I might need to slow down and get these old eyes to see a good picture as I hate pulling the trigger without seeing a good picture. Yet it seems as if that would take me forever. Any thoughts appreciated as I am also trying to teach my son Alec (14) good fundamentals from the get go. Cheers and thanks! Kent

You will be fine.. Calm waters said it so well and I don't want to sound Zen like but one thing at a time and see your sights and only go as fast as your eyes and sights will let you.. Good advice for me as well...
  7. Chuck, it was a pleasure to meet you and watch you shoot! Please leave the rain up in Oregon next time though..... Kent
  8. You were running the paperwork like a master Kevin! I would rather score and tape in the rain than keep the shooters in order! Good seeing you Kevin and thanks for making the drive to help!
  9. Hey you ROCKED and it was good to hang out and work with you and Steve! CONGRATS! Kent

    G23

I shot all last year with my G23 (it was what I had for my first year) and I really enjoyed it! I believe it will make you a better more confident shooter and you might be surprised at how well you compete with it I started with factory loads then moved to reloads (always shot in production) and it does just fine! It is good to use your carry gun under the pressure of competition me thinks Almost makes me feel as if I'm cheating with my G35...
  12. I ride Enduro and HS, kind of like to keep the bike close to the ground so when I fall I don't have so far to go. ss+P Buzzer goes off, you shoot 9 shots Left Center Right, Left Center Right, Left Center Right. Take the total time and add 1/2 second for each non A and that is your time. I do shoot it "Right Center Left" about as often as I shoot it Left Center Right. ktm300 I rode until the early 80's and was leaving the sport as they were starting to fly higher and higher.... Like you I was more comfortable closer to the ground... Hoping to get out to practice today and I look forward to continuing the transition drill. I will run it right to left a few times as well! Have a great day!
  13. Glad to see this drill on top again... I have only been able to do this on one practice session so far and like you, I think it is going to be a routine and I like the way you have set up your session! Are you a former MX'r like I was or do you still ride? Kent
  14. Hi Kevin, hope you are well! Are you coming to our GSSF match this weekend? It would be great to see you if you are! I like my sights but I would like to look at yours again next time I see you. Kent
  15. Thanks again guys! As I read yesterday in my Front Sight Magazine... "It is the people that make this sport great" and I would apply that quote to this forum as well
  16. Thank you for the encouragement and advice! I will pass this on to him and encourage him to go if he is a USPSA member. Good shooting this weekend!!
  17. I have a friend who asked me to ask this question as he hasn't joined B.E yet. He has 4 USPSA matches under his belt and he lives near where the match will be held. Would he be welcome? Would he be lost? If he enjoys the local matches, would he enjoy the big match? Your thoughts are appreciated!
  18. Hey Shaun! Good to see you on here and welcome! I was a newbie and I am still a newbie and I have found the people on this forum are great! I hope you enjoy the wealth of knowledge these people have to offer...... Kent
  19. I received basically the same response today from Fred. The bad news he told me is turnaround time is 6 to8 weeks from the day the receive the fire arm. Ouch! Let's hope they over deliver on the time frame...
  20. I just received this reply from Glock this morning on my issue... I love these guys!! Cracked frame from a case failure explosion in my G21... Hi Kent, Ship that gun overnight (and it needs to be overnight) by Fedex to the attention of Scotty Banks, GSSF/GP, 6000 Highlands Pkwy, Smyrna GA 30082. Send a check for $43 along with it payable to GLOCK, Inc. and he will take care of it with our warranty department. Scotty was the other GSSF Rangemaster that came to the Richmond match with me last year. We both enjoyed that wine!
  21. Thanks Haji! I do feel fortunate as I have wanted the 35 for sometime now. I did throw in 6 mags including some hi caps and a expensive ccw leather holster so I could live with myself..... I appreciate the heads up on the fiber optic rods! I should get the Glock out of California limbo tomorrow or Thursday. Have a good week....
  22. Quite annoying I know.... I hope this awful situation doesn't pop up for another week or two.... Or I see a VERY expensive gift/trip/diamond/car/wine/etc, etc coming my wife's way..... Good shooting this week to you!!
  23. Well, they work great on my G19, so I can't see why they wouldn't also work well on the G23. Duane, thanks for taking the time to answer! I ran into a guy who wanted to trade his G35 straight across for my G23 so I now have a new quest for sights for the G35.... Good problem to have I think....
  24. Thank you for posting this Pat! This is going to be fun and thank you for taking the time to look after us newbies with a desire to learn and on top of that you are giving us good examples of how to give back to the sport as you have!
  25. Duane, I applaud you for the help you offer all shooters, but especially us beginners who are thirsty for knowledge and practice! Thank you for the time you take in supporting our sport! I just started reloading and I just joined a range that is USPSA practice friendly and these are going to be fun!!
