  1. This will be my 5th. Since I have the tendency to skip years with injuries (2012, 2014) I hope to break that tradition this time
  2. Man, should've known you were at the Rock after the NRA show Andy. I was only 1.5 hours away!!! People that have never shot BRM3G should do so! This was my real intro into 3Gun! Finished the first one on a broken foot, but I finished it! Worked the last one as RO. Great experiences with great people! Hope to be there again for this year!
  3. He still talks about it Especially since he did so well on those long range flash targets on the last stage and then got a stage DQ for not having his shotgun on safe with a round in the chamber...
  4. Make sure the whole team knows to aim for the orange "things" and not the white ones this year No way! They might beat me LOL!
  5. Well, 3 Gun Team Netherlands can't wait to get there! 3 Dutch competitors this time
  6. This was my first TFD3G and I had an awesome time. From shooting it to working as an RO on stage 7 to digging out one of 4 stuck trucks between targets it was a great match! The price table was crazy! Check my Youtube account for some of the stages that were shot in dry conditions https://www.youtube.com/user/ulwembu
  7. It was great match! Meet up with old friends and making new ones! Now it's time for bed and no alarm clock See you next year!
  8. Bowling Green, Ky. is full of motels and only 30 minutes from Park City ????? Cave City is full of motels and only 10 minutes from Park City!!!! I know guys but I'm sttaying with a friend and borrowing his car. Did it this way last BRM3G and it worked great for me. Likely he'lll be joining in the fun this time as well if it all works out. Als gives me the chance to work on my guns if needed. He's got a complete workshop
  9. Glad to have lodging 1,5 hour out in Tennessee May be a long drive every day but it's worth every bit. If I'll make it of course
  10. Uronen, Finland, makes a light weight aluminum carrier. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=125811
  11. I just got me a weight lifters belt and cut the back leather and pulled it open. I then purchased plastic electric tube wall holders (no idea what you guys would call them) and drilled holes in the belt for the screws to fit through. After they were fitted, I glued the back leather back. In other words: I made my own belt and was done for about 50 Bucks. I will probably add a few more holders so I can carry more. Just make sure that you can fit your fingers in between the holders easily or you'll damage your skin when grabbing the rounds.
  12. Thanks again for the PM you send me
  13. I use MSA Sordin "muffs" with gel pads. Best fit and protection I've used so far. Especially with the gel pads they are so comfortable that wearing them all day is no issue.
  14. As a first shooter this year at BRM3G I specifically asked about sfeties when abondoning the 1911 I was shooting and I was told it always had to be on thumb safety if it was still loaded.
  15. What I recently build: All parts DoubleStar / J&T Distributing: Upper receiver: 18" SS Wilson Air Gauged barrel Low profile gas block (non adjustable for now) Carlson compensator Samson Evolution 15" handguard Flat top upper receiver Standard BCG (for now) Lower receiver: Lower receiver blem for 65 dollars Standard LPK CMC Trigger unit with flat trigger ACE Skeleton stock Standard rifle buffer (for now) I think you'll end up just over our budget.
  16. Hopefully Molot solved the problem that they have with lighter loads then. I've heard a lot of talk about altering springs to be able to shoot lighter loads in them.
  17. Last update on this: checked in at the hospital on my arrival back in the Netherlands. I have a fracture in the ttop of my ankle and now have a cast around my lower left leg. I just can't believe I shot two days of this match with a broken ankle... Guess Ductape can really be used for all kinds of purposes, including taping an ankle 2 to 4 weeks recovery. HELL! I WOULD DO IT AGAIN IF NEEDED!!!
  18. Thanks for the compliment Bob. Although owning guns in the Netherlands can be quite a challenge, safety is the most important thing we learn. Today I'm flying back to the Netherlands and I might just check with the docter tomorrow to see if something is really wrong with my ankle. Ankle and foot have all the colors of the rainbow right now and my shoe barely fits. But, I finished the match, I'm not last in my class and I had a great time!
  19. It says win in the Youtube title but Jerry won it by cutting the time a tenths shorter
  20. As a first time shooter of this match (my first 3 Gun for that matter) I would like to thank everyone who made this match possible. The RO's were very friendly but firm when needed, my fellow squad members were great guys and helped when needed (and you guys know what I mean ) and a big thanks to Andy Horner for helping me out Thursday morning when I had an ammo issue. For now it's one more day of rest before I hobble on the plane back to the Netherlands tomorrow. Very likely I will get off the plane and straight to the docter's office to have my foot checked out as it was almost completely in a nice purple color when I took the tape, shoe and sock off last night... Unbelievable what you will do to finish a match like this
