  1. Thanks for your help! I ended up ordering an sjc today
  2. Need some input... I finally got around to messing with squaring the mill up tonight... I've got it to .00025" difference in the y direction (4.7") and .0015" in the x direction (18"). All measurements are from the spindle. Should I keep messing with it? I'm staring to drive myself nuts...
  3. My only thought is that the plastic that glock frames are made of might either expand or sweat and cause the delamination... Either way, if it is 100 or above, I'm keeping my butt in the ac
  4. I might have to try the Fiberglass resin one of these times... Excuse to buy another glock? Lol
  5. Any gen 3 or older that is
  6. Will an extended mag release from a gen 3 work on a gen 4?
  7. What do you guys use now?
  8. I supposed you could try and chip it or sand it off.. The way I look at it, I stippled mine, it wasn't aggressive enough, so my only options were to further stipple it or try this...
  9. In that case, I will likely only do one I want this thing to eat skin for dinner and come back for more
  10. Good idea, I think I will have to do this! What paint do you use?
  11. JB Weld + 70 grit aluminum oxide I have a few spots to touch up tonight, but I don't think it turned out too bad. I really want to try this with a gun that hasn't been stippled. Also worth noting, this thing is just like holding sand paper... I love it!
  12. Never seen this one happen before, but all you should need to do is put the barrel in the freezer for a little while... the bore snake should shrink enough to pull it out...

    Gen 4 G22

To me, it sounds like it might be catching on the striker...
  14. I went through the same thing. Did a ton of searching. I bought the Zev because it is heavier. I will get you the exact weight of the one I bought and just received
  15. I want to see this rifle in person
  16. If you are going to dimple it, I wouldn't use a drill press. I would use something that has a bit more resolution such as a mill. If you want to bring it on over, we can put one on if you decide that is the route you want to go.
  17. I've spent a few days looking at them... I think when it comes time I'm going to have to pony up the money for an old south bend... There doesn't seem to be any entry level lathe that is capable of everything I want
  18. Well I'm one small step closer to getting mine up and running... Got the bench built yesterday... Think I need to get a lathe up there too, this mill looks too lonely
  19. Me too... the first thing I will be doing when my mill is setup is cutting on my G22
  20. I will have to say, this mill is tiny in real life... According to the specs, it will do everything I'm looking for, but damned it almost make me wish I would have gone with the G0704. The more I research the lms 3960, the more I become encouraged about it as a platform
  21. It is probably going to be a year long project to get this converted. But in the mean time I plan on using it as a manual mill to help build my skill set Did you use the cnc fusion kit? If so, what recommendations do you have for it?
  22. Well it has arrived! A quick question for you guys. Convert it to ball-screws now or wait until it comes time to convert to CNC? Please ignore the messy garage.....
  23. I wouldn't say that anyone is over there head if they have the drive to learn. I've taken a few machining courses and have a basic understanding of what needs to be done and how to operate things, but I'm by no means well versed. Some people have to fumble through things to learn. The AGI videos are great and they can help you, but you really need to pair up with someone who has been doing the work for a while so that you can ask questions and have feedback. Most local schools offer alacarte style classes for basic machining and cnc.
  24. I just got a hold of LMS, they are freaking amazing! I switched the order around and have dropped all of the R8 stuff and am going to switch to TTS. What drill chuck do you guys recommend for TTS? Or should I just stick with the R8 style chuck?
