  1. My problem is a specific bullet, I have plenty of primers, powder, thousands of 148 HBWC and 148 BNWC and 158 gr RN (stubby) bullets...I need 158 RN "long nose" with cup base. That bullet is the only one that makes the 120K power factor and shoots 1-1/2" 50 yard groups in my revolvers.
  2. FOR THE RECORD: Magtech said no will no longer supply bullets for reloading (loaded ammo only) Berrys Manufacturing just said they don't have bullets and "don't have any plans on production for at least another 3-4 months"! So not only are the bullets sold...the manufactures aren't even making them.
  3. More accurately described as "cup base"....hollow base is a lot deeper. Follows the "cup core" design.
  4. The picture above shows the cup base styles...works a lot better for me versus the common flat or bevel base.
  5. Thanks...I have a printout that shows the Barricade targets at 4' to top of target...just didn't look right..
  6. Looking for 158 RN (long nose not stubby) with "cup base" which I find makes a big difference.
  7. Anyone know what the actual height is for the various targets at the NRA Bianchi Cup?
  8. Been looking for (.358) bullets for reloading...everyone is cleaned out. Looks like revolvers are just as popular as the semi's. With nearly all matches cancelled who is hoarding the bullets. I can understand loaded ammo being hoarded...but bullets? Didn't think we had that many reloaders.
  9. Just can't locate a sources for 158 gr RN lead bullets with cup base anywhere. Now I learn that Magtech is no longer selling bullets and shifting productions to "loaded ammo" sales only. Makes me wonder where all of these reloading supplies are going and when bullets will be available again.
  10. Thanks for the info..I'll be shopping around...prefer a press with 5 stations in case I use my taper crip die.
  11. Never owned a Dillon but am considering buying one for loading 38 special ammo (mostly wadcutter). Budget minded....is there a basic Dillon package (5 stage) that includes everything needed to start loading? press, dies, powder measure, primer feed etc? I do have a Lee LoadMaster now and have reloaded on/off for years now...have the misc like powder scales, tumbler etc. If so, have a Model number and possible source to purchase the unit? Thanks
  12. Thanks Guys...by accident found this source, ordered keepers and some other items. https://www.etsy.com/listing/532809949/set-of-4-police-security-guard-black?gpla=1&gao=1&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_e-accessories-belts_and_suspenders-belts&utm_custom1=74692af8-83b9-44c5-91ba-ac98ce8fe48d&utm_content=go_1844702577_72372877360_346397612140_pla-353036817019_c__532809949&utm_custom2=1844702577&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5Jrm6oHr6wIVx56zCh3ZSwpaEAQYAiABEgI7u_D_BwE&variation1=650987909&variation0=650987901
  13. Might wind up making a set....but would like to find a source where I can purchase belt keepers (4) for a 1-1/2" wide belt. Prefer nylon with Velcro. Plenty of 2" keepers out there but no 1-1/2".,
  14. If the Ivory soap floats...you have the right stuff.
  15. I'm sure most of you that planned to attend already know this...more info: https://www.gvshoot.com/index.php?page=actionpistol
  16. Got my loader out and loaded a few rounds of 148 grain wadcutters with 3.5 gr of W231. Real happy with the accuracy & basically just loaded to set up my Lee Loadmaster which worked flawlessly. (bought it over 20 years ago and never used it) Did buy an updated primer feeder and case slide block after visiting the Lee loaders group. Used a K Frame with 6" Clark barrel and will need to chronograph the rounds in the next couple of days. Firing from the barricade with barrel gripped against it...it felt like the recoil was more pronounced than I remember 25 years ago (I'm 25 years older:-)??? In theory the heavier lead 148 grain HBWC is moving slower so the barrel jump would be more apparent than lets say - a 125 gr lead bullet. But to meet the 120K power factor the lighter bullet needs more powder to increase velocity. From your experience and in reality which round would have the most perceived recoil while meeting the 120K power factor with the barrel held against the barricade?
  17. Just sent a couple of PM's to see if anyone here might want to sell their Burris SpeedDot 5 MOA. I can locate them in 3 MOA but the 5 MOA is being held tight by their owners:-)
  18. I'm building an NRA Action Pistol (a revolver) and am very pleased with the UltraDot 30MM 4 MOA. Built my own sight base and wish I could give the old Burris 135 5 MOA a try because I have minimal ring space choice. The Burris and UltraDot have similar external dimensions.
  19. Sure would have liked to try the Burris SpeedDot 135 with 5 MOA dot...but they are no longer made? Haven't read any negative posts about the scope...wonder why they stopped producing them. Don't even see used ones for sale.
  20. I'm also looking for the "men's room" very often! Getting old is getting tuff!
  21. Didn't know here to post this: http://www.shootingusa.com/TV_SCHEDULE/tv_schedule.html
  22. FYI only I know this is an OLD POST....but wanted to mention that I recently had corrective lenses made to correct an astigmatism. Funny is that the "red dot" image in a less expensive Tasco scope was not as distorted as with the UltraDot 30mm 4 moa I bought ( and a Leupold red dot). Took the UltraDot to the eye exam and they allowed me to hold it in front of the test lenses. Now have a round dot!

  25. I shot PPC with a bunch of cops and squib loads were not uncommon:-)..."never" had a problem driving them out with my old trusty aluminum rod. You need to hit the rod with some FPS:-)
