  1. http://www.idssc.org/ Please let me know if you need any help finding a good hotel or need a place to camp
  2. There are things to do in Meridian/Boise area. Water Park, Mall, Cabelas
  3. The title of this thread really boggles me
  4. As a SO or MD I would not have given the FTDR. I would have told you to stop cussing cause I don't want to hear that. I have on occasion had to remind people my wife or daughter is scoring and keep it clean. But that is all it takes and in my mind does not mean you get a FTDR.
  5. +1 If you like discolored plastic go ahead spray the plastic with brake cleaner then wipe it with a red terry towel. I had red dot powder for a bit after that. Did the powder drop ever get figured out???
  6. I shoot a sig in IDPA but had a bit of work done to it to make it a better shooter. The trigger and mag release were the main culprits, I also put a fiber optic front sight on it. I have not had any gun problems but have had mag problems. I bought Kimber pro mags and a few CMC mags and have been happy with those
  7. You can also download it from http://www.idahouspsa.com/idststeel.pdf
  8. We will hold the State Steel Challenge at the Nampa club on OCT 1st MGM is helping us get this going, it has been held up in north Idaho but now is down here. We will have at least first place prize for every division that has an entry. We will also have a few other prizes for other non-shooting things like longest distance traveled etc. See attached match application IDAHO STATE STEEL CHALLENGE.pdf
  9. Thanks I was just a spectator watching a friend shoot on Saturday. I did see a lot of Cannucks down shooting the match.
  10. Any Chance you can find someone that has the 650 in your area to help you with it? That helped me out the most when setting up my LNL
  11. I am going to attempt to weigh out the 1k rds I have loaded one at a time to see if I can identify the ones w/out powder, Sounds like fun huh?? Had I gone slower or watched that stage I would not be spending the time to do this and I could be reloading. That brings up a point, we all have to learn in our own way. I could have thought this through, read some posts, asked advice whatever. But no as usual I have to learn by doing, right or wrong that is the way I learn. The hard way seems to be the only way for me. I hope this prevents some people from learning the hard way cause then I can die happy.
  12. My STX Sig 1911 has not had a problem w external extractor after 2k rds. My local smith is a 1911 guru and he will work on the external extractor so I would imagine in a larger area you will find someone to work on it. I am partial to sig but I say go for it.
  13. I suspect that I was trying to load too fast thinking I had it all down. I think the hang up at eject might be case related as it happens only about 1 in 50 to 75, the brass is all mixed but cleaned. I have taken note of all your responses and thank you very much. I also thank you for not making this a machine debate (Red or Blue) and keeping it to the process
  14. I am not new to reloading but new to owning a L-N-L AP. I have reloaded for 25 years on a rock chucker. I reloaded about 1000 rds of 9mm and of the first 150 I had 3 squibs. I have not narrowed it down yet but believe it happens when a round fails to eject on the eject station and I have to stop or back up a bit to get the loaded round out. I have used the 650 of a friend of mine with a powder check die and thought it would work in preventing this problem . Anyway would the lockout die have prevented this??? I will be installing a light of some sort directly over the press to visually check the powder and paying attention a bit more from now on. If you could comment on this problem and not the fact that I should sell it and buy blue I would appreciate it.
  15. I just run the outer through the loops
  16. We watched that movie all the time when I was stationed in Korea 92-93. What a great movie
  17. I use a Center of Mass holster for my para 16-40 limited for all my IDPA shooting. I have an Uncle Mikes is used before I got the COM holster because of my girth the holster was "Legal" till I shot a state match. http://comholsters.com/joom/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=28 Call em
  18. Well I lived in CC when I was stationed at Hood. Tell you what. Put some BBQ in a bag and come on up and you can stay at my house.
  19. I use green canvas tool bags I got at Lowes or Home Depot. About as big as the small SC bag at about 1/10th the price. Does not have all the cool pockets but I don't need to be the coolest looking guy at the range I just need stuff that works
  20. Welcome and congrats on the retirement. There are 3 great action shooting ranges close to you. Hope to see you on the range some time
  21. some of these guys had sponsered JR Shooters at the camp and those kids were great. Not a bad kid in the bunch
