  1. To what ever Bill Wilson had in mind with the statement "...including full charge service ammunition..." under "Purpose" in the IDPA rule book. While rasing the PF probably would not over ride the advantage of economy that reloading provides (more shooting/practice for the same cost), an increase in PF would help the nonreloaders (I reload myself) by enforcing IDPA Principle number II. "Provide a level playing field for all competitors to test the skill and ability of each individual, not the equipment or GAMESMANSHIP." Although I haven't done it myself, I personnally like the idea of being able to shoot 125 PF .45 ACP in SSP and ESP. And that is certainly an advantage over some guy shooting a 190(?) PF who is trying to follow the Purpose and Principles of IDPA. Respectfully, jkelly
  2. What purpose is that? Is that something from the rule book or personal opinion? Respectfully, jkelly
  3. FS, You would have to ask Bill Wilson as above is quoted from the IDPA web sites Official Rule Book pdf file. Respectfully, jkelly
  4. While I personally wouldn’t suggest requiring full power loads, doing so would bring IDPA in line with both its Purpose and Principles. Purpose IDPA is a shooting sport that uses practical equipment including FULL CHARGE service ammunition to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios. Principles II. Provide a level playing field for all competitors to test the skill and ability of each individual, not the equipment or GAMESMANSHIP. Why is IDPA ignoring its Purpose? Respectfully, jkelly
  5. If they are designing their COF within the rules then they are not perverting the rules they are by definition following them. I take the same thing from that as I do the drop off in shooters at the IDPA Nationals last year. Nothing, it's a single data point and may or may not be relevant to any implied stimulus. We don't know but perhaps they are related. jkelly
  6. If they are following IDPA rules then they are not perverting them. If they are being "technically legal" by following the rules who cares what "IDPA was trying to do." IDPA HQ are not likely to be shooting at their club that day. If a bunch of OLD USPSAers (I think you meant USPSA) set up low movement (sounds like IDPA) and high round count (at least for IDPA) matches and still kick butt on a bunch of young IDPAers, then I think the youngsters should be grateful for the learning experience. I would be! It's their club, it's their match and they are following the rules. I really don't see a problem. Respectfully, jdkelly
  7. It was a nice season. But only the Super Bowl winner has a Great season! Respectfully, jkelly
  8. The best record in league and losing at home in the second round, boy that's got to hurt. What did the official do? I think the Steelers will beat Denver. Manning is getting tagged with the "Can/t win the big one". Respectfully, jkelly
  9. Well the 10-6 Pats slipped by the 12-4 Jags and now get to visit 13-3 Denver, a place they have not played well historically. I know the Pats fans didn't want Pittsburg in the first round and I think they would have preferred Indy in the second. Respectfully, jkelly
  10. Or they could require you to retain your empty magazines. It's not TACTICAL but neither is picking up a dropped magazine in the open. Respectfully, jkelly
  11. Craig, Thank you for your kindness. I've PMed you because I've brought us off topic. But while we are off topic, I hope Mrs. Bones enjoyed that S&W1911 she won! Respectfully, jkelly
  12. Craig, Sorry I missed the ICORE match, how did go? Respectfully, jkelly
  13. The rule is almost universally ignored by the SOs as it entails determining a shooters intent by their actions. There is no measurement standard as there is with cover, concealment or equipment. There is no conclusive evidence left as with a dropped loaded magazine. At best it's an uneducated guess and my sense of fair play will not allow me to penalize a shooter based on their not shooting 100% efficiently (i.e. adding a round(s) to a target that doesn't need it and the like). Which leads to the question of why there is such a harsh penalty for a rule that is neither enforced, nor arguably even violated as asserted by PJones and Duane. Respectfully, jkelly
  14. It's a poor rule and like most poor rules it's pretty much ignored. I've never called it and I never will. Respectfully, jkelly
  15. Why what happened to them last year? Or the year before that? The Pats seem to have the weakest team in the playoffs this year (10-6). They might have to beat teams with records of 12-4, 14-2, 13-3 and 13-3 to win the Super Bowl. They are 0-2 against these teams and 3-6 against teams with better then "five hundred" records, it doesen't look good. Respectfully, jkelly

    New Rule?

And no one has suggested that he receives financial benefit for IDPA. Partisan as in "followers". Greg, you pointed out that Mr. Wilson said he receives no salary as was stated by JoeD. I don't know what JoeD meant by salary, that would be between you and he. I pointed out that IDPA partisans have used that quote in the past to imply that Mr. Wilson receives no financial benefit from IDPA which may or may not be true. Postal pointed out that Mr. Wilson could indeed benefit from IDPA monies without drawing a "salary" in the conventioal sense. Yes his detractors can be just a biased as his partisans! I'm glad I've stayed netural. Respectfully, jkelly

    New Rule?

So we don't know what benefits, if any, Mr. Wilson gains from IDPA funds (directly or indirectly). Yes Mr. Wilson is entitled to all IDPA funds as it is his business and I've never suggested otherwise. The rub is that his statement that he receives no salary implies he receives no financial benefit from IDPA and is used by his partisans to suggest he receives none at all. Which, of course they don't know. Back on Topic: What is the "Yearly Classifier" rule actually suppose to do? And how is suppose to do it? Respectfully, jkelly

    New Rule?

Has Mr. Wilson ever publicly accounted for the funds received by IDPA? If not, then we couldn't know whether Mr. Wilson benefits directly or indirectly from IDPA funds. Respectfully, jkelly

    New Rule?

But they check everything else figuring you won't. Too easy! Respectfully, jkelly
  20. When I read this I could figure how brookies could survive in FLA.. Respectfully, jkelly
  21. 14-2 won't be so bad. The Colts will enter the playoffs rested and most important of all they won't have to play in the cold at Foxborough. Should the pats get by the first round, it will be interesting to see what type of fight they can put up. The pats are a very much weaker team this year. Respectfully, jkelly
  22. Merry Christmas Welcome to the forum http://cottonfamily.com/ in Friendswood, TX http:///www.idpa.com under: club information/club listing Respectfully, jkelly
  23. So the husbands are responsible for the "catty" behavior by their wives? Respectfully, jkelly
  24. I just love that! What's better is when the "in stock" item actually comes in and they "upgrade" the shipping, ignoring your shipping instructions, to make up for their error Of course the "new" shipper needs you there to receive it, so after trying to deliver the package for 3 days, the package goes back to the seller adding another week to ten days. Have what you say you have, if you don't let me know right away so I can get what I need when I need it. If you ship to me understand that there is a reason I've requested the type of shipping I have. Respectfully, jkelly
  25. Pittsburg felt the same way last year. Respectfully, jkelly
