  1. I have had one of these things built by www.ar15targets.com. I am picking it up this sat.
  2. Mark, I hate to hear that....I really hope it just blew out of the truck, but if someone got it...maybe they need to become a sniper target... I know I had a great time and will be back next year. ya'll make great products and keep up the good work...
  3. I know what you mean about losing a set while shooting a stage. I dove into a foxhole and my hat (on backwards) flipped them off and in front of me and almost out the front side of the foxhole. had to stop ground the rifle and put them back on then continue shooting the stage, Kinda sucked. @ the Larue match, I used a set of ear plugs the Dawson sells. They work pretty well and I didn't have to worry about hitting the ear muffs on the tunnel or anything else. The rest of the time I used my electronic muff while walking around.
  4. Doug, I agree. I am not attacking the stage 6 RO either. I just wanted it to be fair from squad to squad and from one RO to the next RO. I feel if one squad gets to shoot a stage a certain way then everybody should be able to shoot it the same (A level playing field for all). I also feel the same way about the scoring of hits as well. We saw differences on a couple of stages in the heavy tac class. The match was fun, I had a good time, was very tired after the match. It was a very good learning experience for me and will shoot it again next year. Thanks again to all that put the match on and the people working the match. With everyone in the background and on the front lines, the match could not have taken place. To Everyone: Well what is done is done and in the books! We can't change the past but can only change the future. We learn from our mistakes and move forward. Some people will change with what they have learned and some won't. We will take the learning experience and move forward to make our own matches better and hope that the match next year will be better than the last. Brad A.
  5. Big Lucky: I got ther sunday @ 7am, and watched the squad before ours and they were allowed to shoot both slug targets from the right box. when our squad got up there, they changed RO's and then we were told we had to shoot one slug target from the left side and he other slug target from the right side. it was great to shoot with you guys... I am sending you a pm. I need some info if you have it...
  6. hey alamo, i know we had several talks thru the match, but you are killing me here! I know I had fun with our entire squad! I would love to shoot with everyone again in the future. we had fun, were serious and knew what we needed to do when it was our turn. It was really nice to shoot with guys that knew what they were doing and not making stupid mistakes. ++++10 on our squad, everyone was on top of there game when it was time to reset the stages to! That really helped get thru the match! also a big THANK YOU to the guys on stage 5 when we had to shoot about half our squad thru on sunday because we ran out of daylight on sat. We really appreciated them working us in between two other squads!
  7. Hey fullauto: or get anywhere the staging table! You are right - you had to be there! Oh Wait! the previous squad could cross shoot and we couldn't- I liked that one too. they had about a 5sec advantage over our squad for sure with that move...
  8. yeah, stellar, but.... how come taran gets to obviously stack 3 on the way back strong side? yeah, i know, he saw a bad shot on each barrel....right....i'm sorry, but i'm callin' BS....don't get me wrong, it was a great match, i had a gas, and i'm gonna be back next year, but that stage shoulda been virginia count, and i wouldn't be making this post. i just saw alot of loose stuff, some happened to me, and not just on 6.....i'm just sayin'..... You better watch out "stacking shots" on stage 6 - or you might "get your ass DQed in a heartbeat". If you were there, you know what I mean.
  9. Something that might be helpful, appoint a squad leader and give one or two booklets per squad. That would cut down on printing costs and every one could still get a stage description. The stages challenged my shooting for sure. I was really surprised @ stage 5 finish. But this was my 1st major 3 gun match, but I have shot a few smaller matches in the past. But very please with my finish. Again, Linda excellent job and it very nice meeting you. greg, I sent you a pm yesterday about a couple of things we saw with our squad while shooting stage 6 and on stage 1 and 2. But those are more tweaks. The guys @ Larue, all the staff and a big thank you to Mr. Steve for letting us shoot on his place. The prizes were great. I will be back next year.
  10. Hey Alamo, I agree. We should have gotten stage descriptions about thursday before the match or a book when we checked in for the match. The Texas State Carbine Championship Match, they had a book for all the shooters that had the designs and stage descriptions that they could keep in their bag. That was really nice. Stage 5 was comical @ times..... But the benny hill show theme! Too good... that's funny!
  11. A very big thank you to all the staff that ran the 3 Gun match. Thank you to all the sponsors. The RO's and Fred Q I think had the roughest job for the match! A BIG BIG thank you for their time and efforts on the match. It was a great time and fun stages, will be shooting it again next year for sure. PS: Miss Linda, You do an execellent job for all the shooters to help the match run smooth and it was a pleasure meeting you. Thank you for all your hard work..... Brad Ayers
  12. I hear you. These slugs I was trying shot great, so I went to where I bought them and bought all the rest of them! T what choke are you using and what slug? I have a M2 as well and mine are flying high and to the left alittle....
  13. I am trying to get our local club to build in....think it would be very intersting to shoot....
  14. You can take like 3/16" rebar cut to 12 - 24 inchs in lenght. cut a smaller piece about 2 3/4 - 3" in length. From one end of the long piece mark off 2 3/4" and make a cross with the small piece. weld them together and bend the long piece back about 20 - 30 degrees @ the cross. The clay will rest @ an angle and stay enven if the wind is blowing. I have make over 40 of these and they have held up pretty well.
  15. Chuck;s place is over in Navasota off hwy 90 back toward anderson,tx., I got first hand knowledge of the place. Just bring sunscreen, maybe a poncho, never know what the weather will do around here. bug repellant and lots of water. Around here it is usually very humid and if the range is kinda of in a low area, then not much wind.
  16. Also, talk with mark @ Laure tactical....they manf. but put on a one hell of a big match each year...
  17. We use to own a dry cleaners.... the poly bag you are looking for is a 38" or 40" - they are used for shirts or suits. Find a good local dry cleaners, most of the time they will sell a roll. The roll weights about 40lbs. Should run you between $30-$40 for the roll and there is approx. 1000 -1200 bags per roll. @ the top of the bag you might want to use alittle packing tape because there is a slit in the top for the hanger to go threw, just will help protect from the rain coming down from the top.
  18. TAMUJEEP, try ableammo out of hunstville....they have a good selection for shot and slugs......
  19. The larues are about the best on the market. The LT104 comes in either a 1" or 30mm - you just need to know what size of tube you are using.... I have a LT104-30 that will be here in monday for a new 1-4x - 24mm 3 gun scope (it will be here wed). . But the LT104 or the LT139 will be your best bet. The people @ larue as always willing to help with just about anything you need. I have an eotech 557 with an LT flip mount with an aimpoint 3x magnifier, the flip mount is really great when you only need the red dots... my $.02.
  20. I have two of the serpa's holsters. The issue is not equipment, but shooter error. When the retention button is pushed, your are pulling up on the gun, the trigger is above the squeeze device in the holster. The retention device is between the trigger and the front of the trigger guard. If you draw correctly out of the holster, then there no way for the gun to go off right out of the holster... I If you are drawing and finger not extended, I hope the people behind the shooter can dive fast behind a truck or an extra barricade......
  21. Might want to check out the horus vision talon. I got this one on order. Has some very nice features with the H50 reticle. Run throught the demo... might suprise you @ what you can do with it. www.horusvision.com
  22. like I said before, was an excellent match, great stage design, had lots of fun. I would vote for a small step stool for a few of the ports that are just a bit too high for the people under 5'6". I liked alot of the barricades and props used, gave us a few ideas for our own club as well. with the different courses of fire, it really helped me fine out some of my weak points and what to work on for future matches.. thanks again for a great match and a great time with everyone that when down to CC.
