  1. You might want to look @ a hydro buffer....it is a two stage design. Been running one in my DPMS LR-308 and love it. Benny Hill did the barrel work and running one of his rolling thunder comps. Right after I did this setup, My 13yr old daughter tried to take the gun from me to hunt with. She said it shot easier than my 30-30 or my ar15 @ the time. She shoots quarter sizes groups @ 100 yds with her Remington 770 in .270.
  2. If you are worried about hearing protection and hunting in the woods. I have used these for the past 3-4 years while deer and pig hunting and they work great. Very cost effective and have a noise cut off built into them and they will enhance your hearing while using them. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_33366_-1__?N=85400282&Ntt=hearing&Ntk=All
  3. PSA had regular stripped lowers christmas eve for $119 and just got them wed this last week. they are stamped Multi but that is no big deal. They looked great abd they are billet. Not polymer.
  4. usually 16" and 18" have carbine length (mid length) gas systems. a 20" will have a rifle length gas system. The 20" will have less recoil. Some like to take a 20" barrel and cut it down to a 17-18" length and still have the rifle length gas system. You will be able to get around close quarters but still have the reduced recoil.
  5. From what I understood from the Rules, You did not have to shoot with slings, but you either had to have the guns slung or cased with transporting them from stage to stage and muzzle up. Is this wrong or right?
  6. Contact Benny Hill with Triangle Shooting Sports. He is in the Vendor Tents on here. He can do the mod on the loading area and he can also lighten the carrier as well. He has done a ton of Benelli's and he also is an avid 3 gunner as well.
  7. Well if the written stage brief says facing up range, then no head turning either.
  8. Well if you try it, good luck! You are more prone to fall and drop your weapon which would be a DQ.
  9. If bullets went thru the barrel, then the holes in the target would not be round. The holes in the target would be oval or enlongated (like a strike). If the barrels look like swiss cheese, score the targets as shot. If the Ro had the open shooter do a calibration test, then the RO needs a refresher course. All steel must be calibrated with a 9mm factory 115gr. bullet @ a min. distance. If the popper goes down, score as shot. If the popper doesn;t go down, then Re-Shoot.
  10. Actually, Not all bullets will leave grease marks on the targets. If you are shooting lead cast bullets - yes you will see grease rings. If you are shooting FMJ's not all of them will leave a grease mark, because there is no grease. The USPSA rules state, that a bullet must pass through the target for score.
  11. I am usually shooting, score keeping or SO, so I am not lazy, just don't have time to pick up brass during a match...wish I could pick up more brass. Jamie, I know how you feel. We get out there to setup and there is usually a ton of brass on the ground from others using the range. Just wish I had more time to clean up some of the stuff others have left behind.
  12. Always keep you fingers behind the ejection port and pointed down about 10ft infront of you.....safety is no accident...Glad it was only 8 stitches....
  13. Hey General, If they want to use a 12 pump, .45 pistol and shoot heavy. Let them in on the WWII division with no optics and limit there mag to what ever the M1 garand will hold. Just a suggestion..... Personally, I like the rules in the Heavy Tac Division. Just my $.02.
  14. After your register online. You are sent an email and a link / attachment. You will print, sign and intial the waiver then mail it back in.
  15. Still planning on going, no matter which weekend it is....
  16. The two guns are basically the same price. If you get the eagle, just shoot in single stack, if you get the edge then shoot limited in USPSA. If it is an STI, complain once when you buy it and never look back....I finally did a ground up build on an STI. And yes, the price hurt, but it is one of the best guns I have ever shot. Good Luck.
  17. I just a has a custom Sti .4o done. It is still in white. used it in one match and the next week it had some surface rust on it...I was very shocked. Might try some tripple 0 steel wool and mobil 1 oil and see if it will polish out. That is what I did to mine....took alot of elbow grease, but looks 99% now....if it is very light surface then it should come off pretty easy. if Not then you might need to look @ a new hard chrome on the slide...
  18. OK, I do water restoration for a living. Yes you do have a fungi problem in the safe. 1) I would use an professional strength anti microbial or fungicide....check with you local janitorial supply or a carpet cleaning supply house. 2) Spray the inside of the safe with anti bacteria solution, very heavy. I would spray & let stand about an hour then re spray. 3) Let stand for approx 2-4hr. this will allow the solution to penetrate the carpet and any fire linings inside the safe. 4) You need to setup a very small containment area on the safe ( with door open). 6 mil plastic over the door opening will work just fine. 5) get a couple of hair dryers and start blowing hot air into the safe with a small opening @ the top of your containment to let the hot humid air out of the safe. 6) The temp inside the safe needs to be At LEAST 120-130 degrees Min. - this will help kill any bacteria inside the safe. it can not grow or live about 120 degrees. 7) This will take a couple of days @ a min. Stay away from the bleach...it will kill the color of the liner inside the safe. Most Commercial Biocides are color safe for materials. If you want more info. PM me and I will give you my phone number and we can talk more. Brad AYers
  19. Wish I was shooting the match this year....Daughter's Cheer schedule got in the way....Have to be in Temple the night before the match...NUTS
  20. Might want to call Benny Hill with Triangle Shooting Sports in Corpus Christi, TX. He builds alot of AR's and he might be able to help you. He is also a vendor here on the BE Forums...
  21. What style of format is the match....is it IPDA type 3gun or is it USPSA type 3Gun? Also, what type of scoring system used?
