  1. Somebody has an EVIL mind to design that ........................... I like it
  2. 40 ? bruisng ?? REALLY , My Son and I just did 250 each in about 2 1/2 hours at a skeet shoot last wed. We were hoping for 300 but they wanted to stop for lunch BTW; it was a customer appreciation day at a business, I'm a customer and I apprectated it They supplied the shells and clays Didn't a previous years stage have around 60?
  3. When faced with a 50/50 choice , there's an 80% chance you'll pick the wrong one! Life is hard , but it's harder for stupid people !
  4. and one more I don't want to take away from match discussion so please contact me by email or pm . Thanks
  5. SHHHHH that motel is secret, after the GF informed me that the match motel did not meet her standards, that was the quietest one I could find... WTF is a mini unimog, and where do I get one? Here are a few pics of the mini Unimog
  6. I will have another 4x4 mini-truck(dubbed mini unimog by many )there for sale again . Hopefully wont need the 4x4 as much as last year. I'll try and find a pic , I think there is 1 or 2 on the pics from last year, but my internet's terrible slow for some reason.
  7. Sorry I screwed up my 2nd sentance, I should have clarified , it WAS SUPPOSED to be USPSA rules, at least that was my understanding at the start. Sounds like it was an outlaw match with too many little rules. BTW is the USPSA rule book REALLY 108 pages or is most of that other stuff(hopefully)! I started downloading it but stopped when it said 108 pages
  8. First , I have only shot outlaw matches that basically use USPSA safty rules . I just shot a match the rules had me The score sheets had. Penalties procedural = 10 miss = 10 FTE = 10 FTN = 10 no shoot = 10 bonus = -10 My ?? where does the miss penalty come in? I'm sure no one was counting shots. Also an over looked/skiped target was scored as, procedural , FTE , FTN . I assumed a procedural would be ,stepping out of the box, shooting targets in wrong order, shooting targets while over the line, ect. If a shooter timed out it was scored 1 way , if he had a malfunction and timed out it was scored another While it was ALOT of fun ,it seemed to me , it was more about penalties/minute rules than shooting. Help me understand
  9. I've always been a "the less rules the better" kinda guy , until there's an obvious problem don't fix it. I've seen a few guys who are just shooting for the prize, they never seem to be haveing any fun, I hope I never get to that point, not likley, I'm not that good
  10. The most fun 3G match I've ever shot was a TOTAL dark match the only lights allowed were what the shooter had, you could use red when going between stages, and there was a indoor lit commons area. Everbody sure figured out pretty quick what gear worked and what didn't, and that mounting position made ALOT of difference.
  11. Exactally,as long as it's not a saftey issue, and it's not, leave it out of the rule book. If the rules don't say you can't, then you can. everymost RO's nightmare , a 3000 page rule book
  12. BTW ,Anybody know what happened to the guys rifle/mag that "blew up" (for lack of better word) on stage 6?? Looked like it split just under picatinny rail from the front about 3" back and the mag was bulged pretty badly in 2 places, with ALOT of smoke comming out of the mag. Seemed to me maybe a cartridge may have exploded in the mag, how is that possible?
  13. Iron optics, here as well I placed 16th , but I can't shoot irons either . Alot of how the "iron-optic" guys did(seemed at least to me)depended on the time the stage was shot. I had trouble on stage 1 & 6, on 1 I couldn't see the round flasher targets just the frame and flasher part. 0/4 & 2/2 on the mini's On 6 I could only see the white bottom under the plates not the individual plates , got 3/6. Got all the steel down the alley ,big one was easy, I could see the posts and the chains clearly on the others ,shot just under where the ended ,I watched the shooters in front of me to determine the size,I could see it good as it swung. I could only see the front steel on the car,got 3/4 never did figure exactally where the rear 1 was, I was running short on time so I moved on. 6-RV , was my favorite stage, then 5?-door breech, there were none I didn't like SomeMany I sucked at
  14. For those who were interested in the mini truck, here's the phone # 573-378-4900. I didn't realize there wasn't one on it.
  15. We had 1 left on stage 9, I know which squad it was,but not whose, we left it at HQ with the info.
  16. I was 1 of the RO's on stage 9, looking back ,it was a good call to throw it out, (even though it was my best shot stage , after looking at those targets about 200 times it shoulda been )I think alot of the problem came from the "echo" of the bullet passing through 2 open fields and 2 tree lines then the "gong" comming back through the same. As for being tired, I didn't realize how tired I was until I tried to work today. WOW!!! My favorite stage was 6??,brains not working to good, RV stage, even though I SUCKED, it was a blast. 2nd was the door breaching stage, we were wanting to shoot that 1 again after dark with just our weapon lights, but we were too tired to stay that late (9:00pm) Kirk ,Chad ,Damon ,some of the best guys I've worked with, THANKS for a great shoot!!
  17. Thanks , I believe Dan's right, and whoever told him, and whoever who told him ect. ect talked to some at 3gun match, who said same thing, checked the barrel, it's sharp thanks again
  18. The crimping has always looked good on the ones that catch. It just seems to catch about the width of the rolled edge on the end (1/8") or less and about 1/4" if measured around the circumference.
  19. Yes, it does have an extended tube, not sure about the follower. My son's gun ,he put it together, although it's probably had close to 500+ rounds since the tube install, just started jaming last time out shooting. 2 different brands of "econo" shells, haven't tried any high$ ones yet. Thanks for the info.
  20. It's catching the front of the shell in the 3 o'clock position, and crimping it back enough that the shell won't load into the chamber. seems to catch 2 or 3 in a row when it starts, then may run fine for 10-20 maybe less. everything looks and feels smooth. Anybody else run into this problem? What should I look for as the cause?
  21. For us beginers what are the plate sizes? how far apart are they? I think I've figured out how it's supposed to be shot , just trying to get an idea of the size
  22. In the past, birdshot, shoot a wood slat(about 1/4"x1 1/2")suprising how many mess up ,even though it's close yuo do need to aim, sorta it worked good before so we'll see
  23. My nephew is rt handed/left eye dominate, he tried for several yrs to shoot that way, VERY inconsistant, switched to shooting rifle lefty , didn't take long ,he improved 75%
  24. At 1 of our shoots we had to make some last minute changes due to 4"of rain so we had 2 looooooong stages . Using all 3 , my favorite stage shotgun stage rifle ammo Started with only 5 in rifle, pistol=full load out, 20 targets from 3-50 yards. Engage targets of your choice beginning with rifle.sling rifle ,engage remaining targets with pistol. pickup shotgun, engage targets , moving to rifle ammo. discard SG, pickup rifle ammo engage remaining targets, shooter had the option of trans. to pistol incase of malfunction or out of rifle ammo course was about 130 yd long about 15 SG , 40 pistol , 35 rifle It's been several yrs ago , I'm sure it's not correct, but you get the general idea
