I think the revolver nationals should be a 3 day stand alone event
I would personally like that too, Jon. But realistically, it's probably not viable. We would get the 17 hardcore wheelgunners who shot the last 3-day revolver nationals (in Vegas) and maybe a few more because it would be a stand-alone event.
In order to attract a larger mix of shooters, including the international revolver guys and the GMs from other divisions who don't normally shoot revolver, somebody would need to put up real money and prizes like the Bianchi Cup, or the 3GN stuff that is all the craze right now. What if the USPSA National Revolver Champion were awarded $20,000, with appropriately scaled prize money for the top five or ten finishers, plus a meaningful prize table for everybody else? Jerry would be back. Rob would be there, too. Ricky and Sascha would fly in. Bjorn and Nils would dust off their wheels again. And Matt would actually practice.
Nobody in the revolver community would willingly miss a big event like that.
But it's just not going to happen the way things are currently structured, where we mostly shoot for plaques and door prizes and charity kudos. What we are doing now does not encourage real high-level competition.
I think it is inconsistent to recall the Memphis Charity Challenge, which drew in the hundreds as a stand alone event , and say that a stand alone match at the same venue and time would draw only 20 shooters if it was called the Revolver Nationals. That makes no sense to me.
What also doesn't make sense to me is to travel to, for me, a remote destination to shoot a one day match on a limited course that some, but not all, competitors had the opportunity to run the two days prior and call that the revolver national championship.
We can agree to disagree

I've used NM for a while. Bob is a great guy and builds a great product. I have also purchased a speed-e-rack to give them a try. I suspect it will preform equally as well. The moon server looks pretty good but unloaded starts would require an additional style of moon holder.
I do not think you can buy any of these and hurt your performance

+1 on James Austin

I hear they do a great job at the Fallon club.....but I for one will be disappointed to see the match move away from Morro Bay.
For me, visiting the central coast of California is part of what makes the experience so fun.
oooohh!. It hurts to agree with Carmony, but.......

Just a barrel that is oversized so it can be fitted more exactly. I do not even know if one exists. I do know Angus says he fits barrels
-
Holding my breath cause I am pissed I shot the no shoot red
-
No, I bought a target before I bought an accu-
shadow and I am wondering if it would be worth it to get an oversized barrel fitted when I get the short trigger return installed in it. It was my first instinct to try to turn it into an accushadow which why I knew the "answer".
A little too cryptic...sorry

Gotta be quick around here. Guess who also owns a target he would love to...................
Maybe getting a barrel fitted..............

Beat me back to it, Chris

Just noticed they don't list the officers like they used to. Guess if you used the contact ICORE message thingy, you have done pretty much what you can
-
All of the contact information is on the web site (icore.org). If you are distressed because you have sent in your application and money and it is not reflected on the website, this time of year they are very slow to update. Email the membership guy directly. It is pretty much all you can do.

I was just thinking about someone getting a good night's sleep and entering Heaven upon their death

But then not production legal

The theory is that it allows the bullet to stabilize before engaging the rifling

The only thing Far and Near really lacks is movement. It has draws, rapid sight acquisitions, reloads, insane accuracy requirements and you better be fast as well. It even has strong hand/weak hand. It is our set of Standards. If it doesn't represent the skills required by our sport then why does it exist?
To piss off Carmoney

Just got a guns america notice that oak hill has one for $1299

You are still bitching about the 8-shot thing, Bill? Time to move on. You don't even shoot revolver anymore.
Still defensive about helping screw up the division, Mike? Maybe it is the reason some are not shooting revolver anymore. This looks like some good guys trying to have a good time at a cool match

I should have finished my prior post re wearing on the steel with: but it sounds like a gas

The third post here was my prediction. I felt like it was pretty obvious that the new rule would kill the 625
http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=176874&hl= rip
You really can't kill something that is already dead, can you Gregg? It remains to be seen whether the rule change will revive the division (with only five wheels at Area 5, I'm not feeling very optimistic right at the moment), but something needed to happen to try to keep Revolver Division alive.
Do you have some information the rest of us do not? I have an email from Strader saying he tried to kill Revolver and Limited 10 and that he could not. I do not think the "issue" of revolver going away is currently extant
Shouldn't we be in Memphis
