  1. "If optics are "permitted" they are de facto mandated." Optics are generally faster for most. It will effectively obsolete non optics just as the 8 shot obsoleted the 6 shot revolver.
  2. Unfortunately I am not. Any other place to get in touch or find out about their matches?
  3. How does one find out about this match and the organization sponsoring it. Is there a web page?
  4. Do you know of any serious bowling pin matches in Washington State?

    Thank you

  5. "I want to check this one out (the 22LR version)" I have the three inch 9mm version. Currently playing chicken with the adjustable trigger Good, solid gun
  6. "Am I crazy , or can dot shooting improve your irons work?" The two are not mutually exclusive
  7. Simply the best. He (and Phil Rosato) adopted me in 2001, and, eventually, many Washington state shooters who came to the IRC. He was the most fun to shoot with. I hope there will be room on his squad
  8. Try the Pachmayr Gripper grips. I have average hands with a deep palm and these mitigate recoil for me though many find them aesthetically not pleasing. I have never liked the Hogue mono grips for the reason you state. That said, Hogue as a company is excellent to work with
  9. Beautiful piece. I have often said that if I were to ever totally master the double action revolver pull it will be because of my 617. If I wear mine out before I do (or die) it would be replaced with one like this
  10. Check the trigger pin in the frame and make sure it is not loose. That is a back to the factory fix
  11. My story and I am sticking to it is that I once got a beautiful trigger job from Randy Lee. 5 and one half pounds/Federal primers carefully loaded. The problem for me was the weak return. I was informed that that is the price of a super light trigger. That the faster shooters released the trigger rather than riding the return. I could never get the hang of that so the trigger job was lost on me. My problem. The balance between a light pull and the return is a matter for experiment and will be slightly different for every gun. Have fun
  12. Why would you do something like that to a poor, innocent underlug?
  13. There only real use is for going prone. With the demise of the Far and Near Standards in ICORE that isn't going to happen much
  14. I see nothing in the ICORE or USPSA rules that requires pants
  15. I think I saw Wile E. Coyote try that in a Road Runner cartoon It did not end well
  16. I think I am glad I missed the unedited version
  17. Unfortunately, everybody's hand and pain tolerance is different. Resign yourself to trying and owning ($) a lot of different grips. I used Hogue fingergrooveless big butts but changed every so often. Recently I returned to Pachmayr (sp?) grippers. Go figure
  18. The greatest of all time. Always good to do in whole or in part
  19. Everything is a compromise. If your gun groups short colt and you are good with the pressure of your load, go for it and reap the slight benefit over long colt. If you are not so fortunate with your gun, or, would like a little cushion on the pressure, do what many did in the early years of ICORE 8 shot and go with long colt. My hand/reloading speed did not notice the difference between long and short colt. I just pocketed the easier ejection with long colt and called it good
  20. It won't add many shooters. It is the same fallacious reasoning that brought about allowing 8 shots. Not that many are going to go out and spend the money to buy the equipment to shoot the division. If they already have the gun, they probably will shoot the division/but they are probably already shooting revolver Better to divide revolver into 8 and six. You may get some people back (625s who didn't/couldn't sell them) and pick up some casual revolver shooters
