  1. I mostly just do primer fix upgrades but, I sell on ebay and on my website Dillonupgrades.com (if posting posting my site is frowned upon here, feel free to delete this post.) Full disclosure.... the only thing I copied from Dillon was their no B.S. Warranty.
  2. Not at all... I designed an upgraded part that just makes their product better.
  3. Everything EZ Reloading sells was an idea they stole/copied from someone like myself so if you consider that reputable well.......
  4. Yes I am. I respect Brians fourm though (been a member/lurker for years) so I never want to spam the forum trying to sell my product so if anyone has a problem or needs to contact me please just PM me or better yet just send me and email. (stevethone@comcast.net) I do appreciate the plug though, Thanks. -Steve
  5. If anyone has one of the ones OP posted (being sold on ebay by subinc) and it came with a glass jar just send me a PM and I'll get you out a new plastic jar as soon as I get back from vacation next week. -Steve
  6. I'm looking for someone who has a Dillon SL 900 Shotshell press to test out a Spent Primer Upgrade for me. The upgrade would be similar to the one seen here for the XL650 http://www.dillonupgrades.com/xl650spentprimernomountinstructions.html I'm sure the SL 900's don't have the same problems as the 650's so this is basically just an upgrade to relocate the spent primer container. The main benefit is it uses a soda bottle as a new spent primer cup so you would not have to empty it as much. It's a simple bolt on item so there's no modifications to your press. Anyway I need one person (who actually loads enough) to test this out for me and let me know how / if it works, the only thing I require is for you to be able to take some pictures of it mounted so I can use them on my website if I decide to make these available in the future. Thanks in advance, -Steve
  7. If you haven't found a solution for your bench yet.... here's a quick write up with some basic plans/pictures that I wrote up for what works for me. Like others have said once you stack enough stuff on the bottom shelf any bench gets pretty sturdy. http://garagegunsmithing.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=54&jfile=viewtopic.php&f=17&t=525&start=0 -Steve
  8. This may sound like a stupid question but.... Is your press mounted to a solid bench? Does the bench flex or move at all when you cycle the handle?
  9. I just raise the platform a bit and then just thumb the Primer Indexing Arm until all the extra primers are fed down the primer chute. Just be careful, the primers like to jump right off the end of the primer chute (which is why it's called the ski jump) you can cut the finger off a rubber glove to slip over the chute, this will catch any that jump off. Another thing you might want to do if you're feeding primed cases through the press is to remove the decapping assembly from station 1 or you'll be depriming a live primer. (which is never a good thing) -Steve
  10. I believe Youtube has a vid of a homemade wadcutter bullet feeder. Yeah, that's actually one of my brainchild's. It works ok but I still need to work some of the kinks out of it. I need to replace the clear tubes with something else, if there's a build up of lube on the bullet it will jam up in the tube. I tried using a spring tube(?) (like what's on the Mr Bulletfeeder) but I can't find one that's the right size. (I don't even know what there really called) Anyway I don't actually sell them, but maybe some one will take the idea and run with it. -Steve
  11. Thanks for the tip, I've hand this same problem in the past and it's very frustrating, I'm going to give this a shot. -Steve
  12. I just tried this, it works great (talk about your K.I.S.S. principle) Thanks for the tip. -Steve
  13. Oh so that's an empty case bin.... Guess I've become spoiled with the case feeder on the 650, but I like that, might just have to make one for my SDB. -Steve
  14. Not sure what you mean by "Empty Case Bin" but if your taking about the bracket that holds the AkroBins that the loaded rounds are ejected into by the press you can probably go into the Dillon site and look in the Manual (for what ever press you need it for) Basically it's just a straight piece of metal. Here's what the Xl650 one looks like. If thats not what your looking for your going to have to be a little more clear. Edit - This might interest you too.... http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=584&st=125&p=743704&hl=bin%20holder&fromsearch=1entry743704 -Steve
  15. I will sell directly too you, just send me a message on here. -Steve
  16. Back by popular demand If anyone is still interested I have more of the Dillon XL 650 Spent Primer Upgrade's available, Ebay Item # 280599577270. Thanks to everyone for the support, -Steve
  17. Give me a week (or so) and I'll have some more -Steve
  18. If anyone is interested, after a bunch of recent requests I have started making my XL650 Spent Primer Upgrades again, there back on eBay if anyone is still looking for one. -Steve
  19. If your looking for some nice clear tubes similar to what the Gaspari unit used check out Mcmaster-Carr. Just do a search for "Acrylic Tubing", they offer a bunch of different diameters, wall thicknesses, and lengths that might work for you. (I think the ones I bought came in 6' lengths but they are easy to cut down.) I'm not sure how Ricks feeders actually work but one problem I had on my homemade feeder was if you put too many bullets in the tube all the combined weight of the stack could cause problems with the dropper (again depending on how its works) mine just used a simple lever and spring setup so I just increased the spring rate until I could run a 3' tube of bullets. -Steve
  20. GREAT JOB I like it, I think you were pretty resourceful converting the primer alarm. I made my own too, I pretty much copied Dillons design though, mines made from a plastic rod, kitchen cutting board and a radio shack buzzer. Don't listen to these guys either sure you can look up every once and awhile but sooner or later you can get sloppy doing any repetitive task and having the added insurance like a alarm sure the hell couldn't hurt. -Steve
  21. This is what Old Ford Blue looks like in comparison to Dillon's Plastic. It's a little darker but doesn't look to bad side by side. The Stuff I used was made but Plasti-Kote and in an Engine Enamel (#205 Old Ford Blue) I sprayed it over a base of gray primer too so that might darken it up a bit too.
  22. Isn't the shell plate setscrew suppose to keep the shellplate screw from loosening up? -Steve
  23. Thanks I liked the look of the Gaspari (ok it was more of the price I liked ) and talked to a few people that had them and they are suppose to work great but I emailed Gaspari a few times and never got a reply. I think I read somewhere that the gentlemen who was making them had a stroke or something so that's why a finally just decide to make my own. Maybe someone else knows if they are still in business, -Steve
