Other than packing a rain coat what does everybody do different to get ready for a match in the rain? Different gear? Setting up gun different? -
The black stalker stock/forend is a good idea. If you call midwest gun works they might still have the original Browning ones which are much better than the after market parts. I still use mine as a back up gun, it is still fun to shoot.

The big advantage is the speed load. With your 1 piece lifter you will not have that feature. It is not something you can add without spending more than it would cost to buy another gun. You can send the barrel off to get cut and choke tubes added (I assume it has a long and likely full choke barrel) The a5 will be one of the most reliable guns but you need to set it for light loads and find the lightest shell it will cycle so that the recoil will not slow you down. The gun will cycle faster that any of the modern guns but the recoil on heavier loads can slow you. As far as I know there is not an aftermarket bolt handle available.

Just wanted to add how much I enjoyed last years match. I hear there were some complaints about the stage that was thrown out. Please keep the long range rifle targets this year. I shot irons and thought the targets were challenging, but fair. Hopefully the property from last year is still available. -
I would like to know the measurment of the space above the target and the rectangular plastic piece.

I have a 5" pro 40 on order. If I shoot Atlanta Arms 180gr loaded in minor would I need to change the recoil spring? What weight is the stock spring?

Hey Kirk, I was looking at the website this morning and the practice sign up. On tues night how much of the registration will it let us fill out before 8pm? Will there be a count down clock? Thanks for the info. I want to be ready and not miss this one. -
Wanting some info on the Geissele 3g trigger. What is the difference in the feel of the curved vs. the straight Geissele 3g trigger?

What do you think the pro side will have for rifle shots? Still trying to decide what division to enter. Nobody would ever call me a pro, but if I am traveling this far I am tempted to enter the pro side for the extra stage and challenge. But I do not want to upset anyone in the pro division with my average shooting.

how does the gas tube change the accuracy?

Brown dog, do you take time to flip your sights during a stage for long range targets?

http://global-tactical.com/16inchmidlengthreconbarrel556mminstock.aspx This is a barrel I have had good luck with. I bought it 2 years ago and at that time WOA made it. I assume White Oak still does Denny's barrels. Don't worry about the out of stock, just call and they usually have one. -
jimmcc, I am just a browning guy. I have always hunted and loaded with my left hand using the browning speed load. The transition to 3 gun with my auto 5 or gold is an easy one. You are wasting the Golds potential by using it in open. You need to throw those shells in by hand, and never worry about running dry. I actually think the auto 5 balances better but it is a little more difficult to load because the carrier spring is a little stiff. I like to tinker and adjust the gold but I don't have the skills or tools to tear down an auto 5 to mess with the carrier spring.
