  1. FWIW I like this arrangement better than a cap. You get sun coverage in the rear as well as the front. When you pull the muffs up on your head you get the benefit of the full brim coverage. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  2. You can wear a boonie type hat with ear muffs. I do it all the time. The sides just fold up on the side. The muffs fit right over them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  3. And then you have this guy...... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  4. Here's what I'm wearing, http://www.outdoorresearch.com/en/or-gear/headwear/sun-hats/sombriolet-sun-hat-23564.html Very cool in hot weather. Sides fold up for my ears. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  5. Got a call from CED today and they said the PDR's will be in next week. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  6. And to add to what Ronnie said... In production with the hammer decocked the safety does NOT have to be on. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  7. Or I should have said ditto on Outbreak's post! :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  8. I've tried pretty much everything. Otis kits, self built set in tackle boxes, high-end rods and brushes, you name it. What I've settled on are BoreSnakes http://www.hoppes.com/products/ca_boresnakes.html, Slip 2000 http://slip2000.com/ products, Slide-Glide http://brianenos.com/pages/slide-glide.html, and now trying Froglube http://www.froglube.com/. If I have a really dirty barrel I'll break out a rod and bore brush but that is becoming a rarity. The BoreSnakes are really easy to use and have a relatively long lifespan. You can put them in a lingerie bag and wash them in the washer. I haven't bought caliber specific patches in years because of these. What I do buy are bulk cotton patches in random sizes. I used to find these at Wal-Mart for $1.95 per pack of 200. They are getting harder and harder to find. I also like dental picks, Q-tips, and old toothbrushes for those hard to reach areas. As for solutions, I've been shooting for over 30 years and started cleaning as my dad/grandfather taught me.... Hoppes #9 and gun oil. Over the years, as new products came out, I would have a new favorite. Some form of a CLP has seen the most use for general cleaning with the flavor of the day lube added in. I found that I like the Slip2000 Carbon Killer and 725 for cleaning as it is non-caustic and their Extreme Weapons Lube seems to last long on my AR bolt. Slide Glide makes the guns so much easier to clean as well. It keeps all the dirt and fouling in suspension and allows for the initial cleaning to be done with a paper towel. I am just now starting to use Froglube (a CLP) as it is non-toxic and acts as a metal conditioner. I'll post a report after a few matches to see how it stacks up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  9. I would also have a look on m4carbine.net. Rob_s has been compiling data on that platform and may have a thread started. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  10. I ended up selling the match and getting a CZ75 SP-01 Shadow from Shay at Akai. Still going to be in the same boat for IDPA though. With the full length dust cover it would have to make 39 ounces in SSP to use it in ESP. Don't think that's gonna happen. Looks like USPSA Production for me! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  11. IDK, the more I read Henning's site, the more I think delrin won't work.
  12. I was going to make it myself. I have access to milling machines and lathes. I was not sure if it was actually going to work or not.
  13. Crap. I just bought a Match in .40 for IDPA ESP. Short of selling it or machining off the rails, what, if any, are my options? On another note, the gun came with one K40 marked mag and I got here more from Midway. All three have problems locking into the gun, empty or loaded.
  14. I guess I am another anomaly then. I shoot my daily carry gun as well. A full size Kimber Tactical in a Milt Sparks HR-LTD. I've also shot my P7 M8 in a Matt DelFatti holster.
  15. Today we shot CM 03-09, http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/03-09.pdf, I have also shot this stage in the past and seem to recall that T1 and T4 were not visible from opposite ends of the box. When we set it up today, and measured three times, all targets were visible from either start position. Is this correct?
  16. I've tried running VPC on my G3 Pismo Powerbook but it is too slow and crashes. I tried to install 6 but the Pismo doesn't have enough processing power.
  17. Ok, someone with scoring software please do me a favor and score this stage for me. T1 A/C/D T2 2A/2C T3 M T4 A/D T5 A/2C From what I understand there is no penalties for missed targets and as long as all shots were under 4.30 there is no time penalties.
  18. Shot this one today and blew it big time. I thing it was run wrong also.
  19. Is there a similar classifier to CM 99-32 that uses a par time of 4 seconds throughout? The one we shot today had an array of six targets that had different hard cover on them, used 4.0 seconds as par with 4.30 as the safe end, and had four strings from 40, 30, 20, and 10 feet. Freestyle, strong, weak, freestyle respectively. It was a nightmare. I forgot to look at the number before I left the range. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just found it myself in the database.... http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/99-40.pdf This was an absolute monster for me.
