  1. I would love to help support a new club & have more shooting choices.

Unfortunately I am on call and have to work part of this weekend otherwise I would be there (and PASA.) I already have traded so many weeks to make matches this year that the guys are getting sick of me asking to swap.

I thought I heard that some of the guys from Southern Illinois Gun Club(?) might be holding/helping/working the match in some capacity.

I will send this out to my shooter list.

  2. Is this still a valid classifier? I am assuming yes.

I thought I read somewhere that it was going to be removed but I can't find where I read it.

It is still on the website & in EZWin so that should be a yes.

39 in 4.83 Limited. Right around my current level.

  3. From the Match Director:

These are the Plaque winners for the 2010 Illinois Sectional. The first are the category winners:

High Law enforcement + High Master Class Limited Todd Kunz

    High Lady T.D. Roe

    High Military Brian Grice

    High Junior Alex Gutt

The following are the plaque winners in a division and class that there was at least 5 competitors in a class to get a plaque:

1st Limited + High A Class Limited Tim Kunz

High B Class Limited Greg Panzl

High C Class Limited Ryan Stinar

    1st Limited 10 David Price

  4. I load .40 MPF loads with 165 and 180 gr. bullets for my 16.40 with an OAL of 1.35" which, I believe, is the length most factory ammo with those weight bullets are loaded at.

Did you mean to type 1.135" OAL?

I run 1.18" OAL with Montana Gold 180 CMJ in my pre-PXT Para, but I haven't had a problem with any length attempted so far.

I shoot with a guy whose Para doesn't like any ammo longer than 1.135". YMMV.

  5. If you want them now I would get the pads from DP & get the tubes from somewhere else like Gunbroker or Para. There is a decent deal that I have considered in the past on Gunbroker right now. (As long as the mags are actually Para mags as stated & not Mec-Gar.)

Every once in a while you can get DP Para pads on here or the USPSA classifieds for less money than normal price.

    PM incoming about GB deal.

    Should run without tuning required.

  6. Drift...CA is always buying someone else. They keep eating the companies I like & messing up their software.

I've know a few technical people who didn't ever use antivirus & a couple that wish they had...

The "good" web pages that you only click on can have a bad ad or been taken over. The evil stuff that broadcast & installs itself with no need for user interaction is nice.

IMHO as nice as some of the heuristic engines are, every anti-virus provider is playing a game of reaction. There is always something new out there that everyone has to do an update for. My theory is that the bigger & more successful you are, the better the chances that the virus writers are using your engine to test against in their sandbox.

I use a combination of antivirus & firewall & anti-malware. I have several (mostly outdated) computers with a mix of everything. Avast, AVG, Kaspersky, Commodo firewall, ZoneAlarm firewall, Avira. I tend to go with Avira since AVG limited free installs to one per household.

    SpywareBlaster goes on everything.

Make sure you update your Antivirus & OS. Even the best won't protect you if you don't.

  7. When everything is running perfectly I can get just over 200 good safe rounds an hour on the Lee Classic Turret. I usually get between 160 & 190.

    I loaded about 12,000 good rounds last year. Mostly 40, 9, & 38SC.

I just replaced the plastic bearing & primer spring/wire.

    I just ordered a 550.

The Lee was great to learn on. Additional calibers were very inexpensive.

    I am keeping it.

  8. I'm kind of curious on this one too. I thought there was a provision in EzWin to

designate Non Penalty Mikes for disappearing targets in the scoresheet function

---but I can't figure it out in version 4.03.

Not unless it was added, but I don't see it.

From the cover letter for 4.0:

Scoresheets - This folder contains a Microsoft™ Excel spread sheet that can be used to create score sheets with boxes for non-penalty misses. The complexity of adding this feature to EzWinScore was found to be quite difficult, and, given the amount of other more important modifications, was left to a future release.

    Good information Here

  9. I am fairly new at this so if someone else knows better or if I have something incorrect, please jump in.

Download the USPSA Stage Design Tools

Run the .exe to extract the content.

Open the Comstock word document & edit as needed. You should be able to copy & paste as needed.

Hopefully it should be fairly self explanatory. If not, here is further assistance:

Change the total steel to 15.

Copy the 2nd T1 with the marked out M & paste it back in for the 2nd dissapearing target.

    Select T3 through T12 & delete them.

Change the total hits to 23.

If you don't have Microsoft Office you should be able to download Open Office. I don't know how well that will work with the provided forms.

  10. CO Steve mentioned that to make a 20 second swap of primer assemblies on the 550b you need to purchase the assembly from Dillon. Is part number 14282 Primer Slide Assembly, Small the only item that you would need to order or would I need additional items like 14015 Primer track bearing, etc?

    Thanks

I was informed by a fairly reliable source that this doesn't speed anything up with the 550b.
