  1. Green Gas with HFC-22 on the label is propane. I received an MSDS from the company. UN1075. They were very polite in providing it. It just took a little while.

I have run a bit in the basement. It is pretty cold & it doesn't want to run for long. I may have to try the heating pad procedure out.

Thanks for all the replies & all the great info here for the searching.

  2. MSA/Sordin

Bomb proof build quality, great replacement service policy, and excellent sound quality. The one drawback is the stock foam ear seals, they offer a gell kit for $40 but you can easily replace the stock foam seals with gel seals from David Clark for $20.

On SRS Tactical, if you buy the Sordins, for an additional 30 bucks you will get gel ear seals.

I might not order this just yet but I have a couple of questions.

Is there a coupon code I am missing? It looks like $41 for the gel seal from SRS Tactical with purchase.

Which model of gel ear seal from David Clark would fit the Sordins? I might be missing something there too.

  3. Older topic, but someone asked about a Para & I just worked up a load & ran them through. I had loaded lower based on the numbers found here & elsewhere, but I was not making major pf consistently.

    Para Ordnance P16.40 Limited 5".

    180gr Montana Gold FMJ

    5.3gr Solo 1000

    1.18 OAL

    Magtech small pistol primers

    Winchester & Blazer range brass

952 fps average from 30 rounds

    171.36 pf

It was about 65 degrees in the range.

  4. There have been no replies to requests for MSDS/any info from a couple of sources.

If I am reading everything right it kind of looks like green gas is propane no matter who sells it. The HCF-22 appears to be misleading branding. (I could be mistaken. There doesn't appear to be too much regulation)

    Red gas would be hcfc-22.

Not much to be found on HCF-22 as a hazard other than high concentrations as stated by others.

This is an MSDS for HCFC-22

    For Halon:

It looks like Halon 1301 can cause RADS (reactive airway dysfunction syndrome) when a large exposure happens (halon tank discharge.) Large exposures don't seem to always cause RADS in everyone.

Small exposures can affect function a small amount usually for a short period of time.

I didn't see any extended studies.

Interesting. I have worked near or in possible Halon discharge areas the last 16 years.

  5. If possible, have him try shooting the guns (or similar ones) before he buys.

The Glock 17 is the best bet, but it does not point naturally for me. I don't like the way it feels when shooting it.

I prefer the steel gravitas of the S&W 5906. My nightstand gun is a 5906.

Besides, if you run out of ammunition you can always use it as a club.

It also depends on if it is going to be carried.

  6. I would like to try Airsoft training, but the best place would be my basement. Is this relatively safe for green gas powered airsoft?

A more specific question is: Would Bestak Power Green 1000 gas advertised as hfc-22 be OK to use in a basement that contains a furnace? (I could close a door to the room the furnace is in & open a window in the room to be trained in.)

My google-fu is weak this morning. I can't seem to find a definitive answer.

  7. Princess Bride

    Blazing Saddles

    The Professional

    The Fifth Element

    Raising Arizona

    Groundhog Day

    Home for the Holidays

    Dazed and Confused

I have watched each at least 5 times and some many more.

I have seen Ferris Bueller & The Breakfast Club numerous times on Saturday/Sunday mornings on TBS/TNT/ETC while waiting for the results of the previous night's entertainment to abate.

  8. I have a set of Pro-Ear Promag gold muffs that don't seem to seal very well and feel like they are putting no pressure on my ears, any suggestions.

I know this may sound dumb to some but it is almost like I am not even wearing them it is that loud at times. I have resorted to using foam plugs also 33db under them and then turning them up all the way to get any sound, it must be loud to others around me.

They replaced my headband for me --new one was much tighter. give them a call.

    Sherwyn

Sherwyn, I emailed them last night and got numerous e-mails about them sending me a new headband to correct the problem, I hope this helps.

I'll let everyone know once I get to try the new bands out.

Did you get the replacement & did they work for you?

I got a replacement band for my Pro Ears Stalker muffs. They work better. I still don't think that they fit my melon as well as I would like.

My ProMag Gold muffs are a much better fit.

I am interested in what might fit as a replacement band for this style.

  9. It has been reported that a S&W 410 magazine will work in a CS40.

It will stick out of the bottom if it does work.

The only extended S&W 10mm mag I have heard of was for an initial prototype gun (that will probably never be sold.)

  10. Is the Grams follower "universal", wherein it can fit both the STI/SV and Para magazines? When I went to Beven's website, they have Gram's springs for Para but no followers for Para. So I'm assuming its the same followers as the ones for STi/SV?

What's the hot setup for Para mags for IPSC standard division these day? :)

    Thanks so much guys!

No, the follower is different. He has been working on a new design for a Para follower but AFAIK, there is nothing available yet. On a different note, it has been my experience that S_I tubes will work in a Para frame without modifying anything. The S_I tubes sit a bit lower so a weak spring will show up sooner but if your feed ramp geometry is OK, they feed fine.

    Later,

    Chuck

I have no problems running stock unaltered STI magazines along with the unaltered magazine release in my Para.

What caliber Para did the STI magazines fit into? This is the 1911 page so I am guessing 40?

SV Magazines fit my 38 Super Para.

I will have to see if I can borrow an STI mag sometime & give it a try. I thought I had read a few posts that said they usually sit too low to run (mostly on newer Para's IIRC.)

    Thanks!

  11. There is a lot of good metal posted as well. I love thrash although I can mouth the words to most late 80's early 90's radio hits.

    Slayer!

I am currently going through Opeth's albums. If you haven't heard them you might check them out. Watershed & Ghost Reveries are really good albums.
