  1. The range where Area 5 is going to be held at (PASA) is holding a classifier match on Sunday March 20th.

There are other regularly scheduled matches in the (more central Illinois) area that I can help direct him to. Shoot me a PM if interested.

PASA monthly club match is Sunday March 20

    Six classifier stages cost $15.00

Registration will start at 8:15, shooting about 9

Great opportunity to get classified in a new division!

  2. Does anyone make a trail runner or moderate cleat in 4E size?

It looks like I am at least the 3rd or 4th person to ask that.

The only trail runner style shoes in 4E are New Balance. The tread doesn't look too aggressive on them but it's hard to judge.

I bought the Nike 4E trail runnerish shoes & the toe box is too small.

  3. Thanks for the PM & the hint about the old password.

I like some of the functionality & promise of the new site.

I do think that SC's need to be able to administer clubs.

A quick links drop down menu would be a very nice addition.

  4. Glad this is happening again.

I have heard good things about Manny's classes.

I also heard I may need a u-haul for the ammunition and band aids for the trigger finger. :P

Time to put in that Montana Gold order. I am going to start loading now.

  5. I would wait for the more experienced people to chime in.

I think the masternames.db file is the one that matters. I could be wrong. Like I said, I would wait for the more experiences stats people to respond.

I would personally just add the shooters into the existing database if it is not too huge a match.

This is partially why our club has a laptop to pass around for scores.

If that is not to your taste,

1st step I would make a backup of the entire directory (USPSA folder.)

2nd step: In the original folder, rename the masternames.db file & copy the club's version into that same directory.

  6. WOW exactly 11pm CST!!!! Printed and ready!!! fingers crossed!!

There isn't a lot of room on Friday left but by adding Thursday we should be able to accommodate the shooters who didn't get a slot and wish to shoot the match. It isn't a easy decision to add a day. It drives the expenses up of course and you take the chance and hope that you get enough entry's to cover them. Now if Thursday fills I will be amazed and very pleased.

    It is much appreciated sir.

I hope Thursday fills up too. I will be spreading the news that Thursday is available.

  7. Just in case there is anyone in the Central Illinois/western Area 5 region that would like to take the NROI Level 1 USPSA Range Officer class who hasn't heard from me already.

The class will be at Lefthanders Gun Club in Loami, IL (just a bit outside of Springfield, Illinois) on April 9th & 10th.

The cost will be $50. Checks should be made out to Springfield Tactical Shooters. (The other USPSA club coordinating sponsorship of the class.)

USPSA rulebook and a notebook should be brought to the class.

    Instructor will be Jay Worden.

    Estimated times are 8am to 5pm on the 9th & 8am to 12pm on the 10th.

Range time with live fire the second day.

Application and payment should be received prior to March 15th if possible.

Please PM or email for class information & application.

  8. It seems like there are always open Glocks around.

I lucked into an open Para.

The gun isn't the limiting factor in the equation.

An open Para, Glock, Caspian are all a gamble at that price.

If possible buy the most wretched looking one from someone you know who has one that runs.

(And make sure you can duplicate their pet load.)

  9. I don't believe there is a season per se.

    It is mostly weather related.

Clubs don't usually shoot in the winter. You might be lucky enough to live where there isn't really a winter or have an indoor club or you have some really determined shooters who don't care that their snot freezes into their beards and their hands to their pieces.

Major matches are usually scheduled in the warmer months.

I think that is where the impression of a season comes into play.

  10. I don't think so.

Things may have changed since I took the exam & my memory isn't the best, but it's all in the book. IIRC the exam has questions that you have to give the answers while noting those answer's relevant section within the rulebook. It's an open book test.
