  1. As a limited shooter, I'll tell you that the participation in the division is very limited since it can be a very difficult division to shoot. If you decide to do it, make sure your zero is solid and you understand your ballistics. Also, be paitent - it can take some time to get as good as you want to be in long range 1x. Like Jesse said, I've seen a number of people show up with 1x and tank a long range stage (and I finally tanked my first this year at OKC  ) Give it a shot though!

  2. Under certain circumstances, 2 inches with M193 at 100 yards is normal and acceptable.

What is your sighting mechanism? Are you shooting a target with a clear POA? (Search for my "zeroing target" on Enos - I'll be making a video based on the bikini target soon) Was the wind blowing 15 miles per hour?

Shoot ammunition with better bullets and I'd bet your groups get tighter. I'd bet that your ammo is fine and is shooting at close to the accuracy it's capable of. There's nothing wrong with shooting it in matches that it'll hit things. (Close range or targets that are big enough to take a hit from the round)

Personally, I wouldn't put time into chasing tiny groups - it sounds like your rifle and ammo are just fine.

  3. I almost never use my LM choke for this reason: If I don't have to aim, IC. If I have to aim a little, I might as well aim a lot and run mod. I've got IM for when mod is not enough. I carry a full but I've never used it.

    For me it's:

    1. IC

    2. LM

    3. MOD

    4. IM

    5. Full

  4. Good idea - I took it to the next level when I had a steel target custom made with a cut out A zone.

Hearing a *ding* means you're doing something wrong and there's a big difference between an Alpha and a Mike when it comes to sight pictures so I never worry that I'm missing anything.

  5. What about an FS2000?

No worries about lefty shooting, it ejects out the bottom. VERY different.

Not the bottom. It pushes brass forward and it dribbles out the front. Looks really weird to see someone take a few shots and no brass comes out.

Realized after I posted I got the ejection confused with the PS90.

does the dribbly ejection cause problems?

    No.

It was even more weird to take one shot and see 6 pieces of brass pop out. :roflol:

The weapon was very reliable but if it ever did have an issue, you would need special tools to clear it.

I probably had only one malfunction out of 2000 rounds and never cleaned the gas system.

  6. What about an FS2000?

No worries about lefty shooting, it ejects out the bottom. VERY different.

The stock trigger is like a power drill's trigger. Other than that, I had no complaints with mine (When I had it - I sold all my toys except for two).

The accuracy was on par with a 16" rack grade AR (3-4 MOA). The recoil impulse was sharp but the platform was controllable and would probably be pretty flat with a good comp.

  7. I agree on all points.

I shoot the cheap stuff at local matches and only Fiocchi birdshot and slugs in major matches. I've seen several plastic hulls pulled from aluminum rims rendering the shotgun completely useless without something to push the shell out.

I also recall reading posts from Mr. Miller discussing the challenges of engineering 3-gun shotguns on this forum. The thread is several years old but it seems like the bottom line is that we want a lot to happen with very gas to do it with.

My shotgun ran as well but I accept that every several hundred rounds, it will choke since I'm running ammunition designed to kill small birds instead of the full power buckshot that combat shotguns should be fed. I have not seen an exception in any platform.

No one had shotgun issues on my squad - all M1/M2's and one SLP.

  8. We have some in Poplarville Ms. USPSA and 3 gun

    Awesome!

    Hey

I only got to say a quick Helo at the lodge,

Why don't You host a monthly event in your area

Howdy - I'm sure we'll bump into each other again soon. I would consider that but I'm relocating for a new job and I won't have much time to manage a club. I will offer my help to the clubs I frequent though.

  9. Hopefully this isn't too nasty:

I saw a preview involving Taran Butler giving a shotgun shooting lesson.

As he was giving advice - a cast member cut him off and told him that they knew what they were doing.

It's not like TB knows how to shoot a shotgun anyways... :roflol:

I predict that tonight - hundreds of 3-gunners will cry out in agony.

With that said, I will be watching and supporting the positive portrayal of shooting sports of television.

  10. Any new Input on the Mossberg 930 spx ($600.)that is not in the search results? It seems crazy to spend $1000.00 on a shotgun that I'm only going to use a couple times a year.

    Thanks Guy's

    Joe

Open is expensive. If you want to keep the price down, I'd take the dot and comp off the Glock and shoot the Mossberg.

I've never seen a competitive Open Mossberg 930. Is Jerry running one now or is Benny building one?

  11. Tube guns run all the time and reload 12 rounds in 5-6 seconds.

Off the shelf Sagias run most of the time and reload 12 rounds in 1-2 seconds.

It really seems like the same shooter with both guns would be close to tying himself up since hypothetically, the Saiga would run for 10 out of 11 stages and all of the combined reloads for the tube gun in 11 stages = one Saiga malfunction.
