  1. OG, welcome to the ROCK. Those are some impressive times Boys. We did one this weekend with 7 and were running about 2.2 to 2.5. Jeff and Todd are fast, but OG is da Man with a pump. And Kyle, I've seen him shoot 3 in the air, from the hip, and the 11-87 was upside down!
  2. Chris, The Bushy or RRA are very accurate out of the box. I shoot a Bushy FT with a free floated 16" bbl, Mickulek comp, and a trigger job. I put a ACOG on it and shoot steel at 600 m or EO Tech for 300 and less and CQB, it is accurate. I polish the sear and hammer, throw in JP springs and get a snappy 3 # trigger that is reliable. If you build it, you know what you got and you don't pay someone else to put parts together. Like I said, many ways to skin this Cat! Adios
  3. Hey JL, Must have been the "gas system" today. The air pressure changed because the gun was having soooo many hick-ups!! Better luck next time Amigo.
  4. Chris, Many ways to skin this Cat. I think in the longrun you would be better off building your AR. This way, you can get what you want or you can purchase any of the quality Mil-Spec AR's available on the market. Good Luck
  5. Hey Kelly, You think that's scary...you should see the muzzle blast from a 7.62 AK, 12.7, and 14.5! All at once!!
  6. Thanks for the input fellas. Try'in to get some ideas for training and a match. I set up some courses of fire for my guys using IPSC, poppers, and Larue's for long range. I use green chem lights and tape them up to get the amount of light I want and move them to cast low light on the target. Using NVG's and PEQ is kinda cheat'in so think I will take them away and give 'em lights. Death waits in the Dark!
  7. Has anyone run a low light or night stage during a 3 Gun?
  8. Another good long range target is to cut out an IPSC and tape a balloon blown up to 12".
  9. Scott, I think the best combination for range is 175 to 300 meters using plates or flash targets. You can set 5-8 targets varying the distance between them for a challenging course of fire. Again, you have to consider the customer. I hear most people complain if a target is 100 meters. Historically, most tactical engagements are less than 300 m. Good luck!
  10. KL, Are they going to offer it for the impared....Left handers? Can we get it in black with velcro?
  11. Ammo and practice. Focus on reloading shotgun, either flip method or tactical, transitions, and shooting positions. Good luck.

Oddjob, Go to the Remington web site and get the new gas rings, someone said they are free. Or Brownells has'em. Drill your ports out to .100, slide those new puppies on, oil it up and go blast with Wal-mart $3.00 a box #8. Works good and lasts a long time!
  13. Kurt, Give us enough time and me and KL will figure a way to make a pond. Hey Blane, maybe I could bring a little bird so we could have a Fast Rope course.
  14. Jimmy, Whats up my brother. Thanks again for the ride to the airport, Earnhadt would be proud! Kyle could'nt fly a kite! But I have seen him shoot a slingshot from a tree. Send me some info on the match. Adios Greg
  15. Kyle said it best...spirit of the game. Everyone is ranting about equipment rules, Tactical also means Stages. The stages are what make a Tactical match. No one will ever agree on a set of rules to govern a Tactical 3 Gun, that is what makes the game great. You have to look at it like this, Task and Purpose. The Task is to provide a competitve, demanding, fair match. The purpose is to insure the shooters have fun, learn a thing or two, and have at least 25 guns on the prize table!! If you don't like the rules, pay your money so you can gripe about it while you are Blasting. I have shot a few 3-Gun, to include the big international ones with 2-way pop ups. I don't like some of the rules of USPSA, MM3G, IDPA, but we still go for the spirit of the game and to have fun. That is the bottom line! So you whiners suck it up and drive on!
  16. I have been using the new gas seal in my 11-87 for about 8 months now. I installed the new seal and drilled out the ports to .100 and the gun will run on $3.00 a box Wal-mart #8. Use plenty of oil on the system and it will run every shot.
  17. Tactically speaking, you can start the stage with an empty shotgun and make 'em load 'em up!
  18. Les, The Smith is pretty effective, I have one on my work gun. You can get the Cooley Comp in 1/2 x 28. Adios
  19. Les, I have tried and tested several comps...Smith, Mini-Y, AK, Mickulek, Cooley. I would highly recommend the Cooley Comp from JP or the Mickulek. The Cooley can be set up for Left or Right hand shooter. A 9/16" thread pattern is post ban legal too. The best thing to do is try your buddies and buy the one that suits you. Adios
  20. 100 mile hour tape and 550 cord!
  21. Okay Boys, We got rules, if you don't like 'em, don't go. There ain't no rules in a gun fight! Gear and Tactics are continuously evolving, so bring what you have and let's Blast. The intent, is to somewhat keep the field even and have fun. Gunfighters are always looking for an edge. I agree with JL and my Rockets are better than his, I use a pipper! The best match in the world is the NC 3 Gun. This match is the standard! KL, Mini is minor, G-cal is major. Adios
