  1. Are the illuminated reticles on Leupold VXIII and MR/T M2 1.5-5 type scopes visible during the day, or are they only useful for extreme overcast or shadows? Or even then?
  2. I was watching the 3GN DVD last night and noticed that Voight and Filho both had their sights mounted onto their receivers, not the rib. Now I'm even more confused..
  3. George, What adhesive did you use? Green Locktite?
  4. Will JP work on a Benelli? Who else can I send it to? Also, is a Docter preferable to a Jpoint?
  5. I am converting a Benelli to open. Who can I send the barrel to for installing a J-point into the rib? Does anyone have any experience with the Arredondo mount, http://www.arredondoaccessories.com/catego...hn&GID=JDSM. Is it DIY?
  6. Compass Lake will make one to whatever profile you want, and Rock River Arms has stainless and chrome lined one's made by Wilson.
  7. That one leads to 617-868-1561. Got a recording that at least said Navidrex at that one. Thanks again
  8. Thanks Renee! Unfortunately, that is a non-working number though...
  9. Does anyone have the direct contact info for Navidrex, the people who make 1911 grips? I am pretty sure they are in California. I googled them and couldn't come up with the direct company contacts.
  10. It kills me say this, but I agree with BamBam! During his lucid moments (when he is not distracted by the hum of fluorescent lights because of too much caffeine), he makes a lot of sense.
  11. A great, big physical match at one of the best ranges I have seen. Luckily I had some extra propulsion from the Mexican dinner the night before with Phil, Todd, Rob and Jere Thanks to all of the staff and RO's for a great time. Hopefully they will do it again next year!
  12. Larue Tactical makes a great mount made specifically for the Accupoint.
  13. I'm shooting irons - please tell me that there is a good background surrounding the targets!
  14. I got LOTS of smoke with TG and Precisions. Is anyone else seeing this? I have a lot of bell on the case to prevent scraping off any coating during loading, but I am wondering if the EGW undersize sizing die makes the case small enough enough to remove some coating?
  15. Jim is building me a Caspian as we speak and it will include some of his special mags. He is an absolute first class person to deal with.
  16. I "feel" like I'm in the minority here, and I'm glad to see so many passionate 1050 fans. I hope to become one of them if I can chase the gremlins out of mine. For those expecting a straight up trade, 650 for 1050: I'm no rocket surgeon, and I'm certainly no Alvin Einstein , but there aren't any turnip trucks near me either...
  17. I'm with AZ38super. I have a 650 and a 1050. The 1050 is somewhat faster when it works, but much more trouble to keep running than a 650 - at least mine is. I actually prefer the primer system on the 650, because I have better "feel". Buy another 650 if it makes you happy, and take the $500+ you save and buy bullets. I regret not doing the same when I was making the exact same decision.
  18. Generally about an inch or so with American Eagle, I've not tried XM193.
  19. Does anyone know the breakdown amongst the top 16 at limited nats for fiber vs black?
  20. I'm shooting a Bushmaster Government profile and getting 1/2 to 3/4 moa with Varget/Nosler 69's, and Benchmark/Sierra blitzkings. The profile under the handguard tapers from 0.675 to 0.610, and is 0.730 past the gas block. The barrel with no gas block or sight tower weighs 2lb 3oz. Might be worth taking a look at.
  21. Kurt, I thought you were a big fan of Bushmaster barrels? Are you switching?
  22. I just got some of the new Dawson competition followers, both for 38 and 40/45. I tried the 38 in an STI open mag and the follower doesn't make all the way up to top of the feed lips -- it gets hung up, then stuck in the mag. It seems like the follower is too long for the mag. I noticed that the 38's are significantly longer than the 40/45's. This is on an ISMI spring if that matters. Anyone have any experience with these??
  23. "and if you bother to have the shotgun fit to you ( this is a BIG hint to American shooters: I have kept this tidbit in reserve untill now as I don't think anyone will actually read this far. )" Hey Kurt, I read that far--- what's the secret to shotgun fit??
