  1. Glock does an annual stocking dealer program and most dealers sign up at the Shot show. Those who don't are out of luck until Glock ships all their 'packages'. The good news is that some Glocks are beginning to trickle out of the distributors to the dealers not on the program. Find a friendly gunshop and be a regular and they'll take care of you sooner rather than later. Good luck.
  2. Beaver Lake is named for my Great Great Grandfather, Wilson Asbury Beaver. Welcome to the site.
  3. Thanks guys. I love the brightness of the MTAC but the BDC reticle of the AR-536 is appealing too. I was leaning towards the MTAC and I think I'll go that way. Thanks so much.
  4. I didnt' want to hijack the other thread but I wanted to get the opinions of those with experience to share their opinion regarding the 2 title scopes. I have a new rifle and I have a NIB MTAC I got to replace the Aimpoint on my other rifle, but haven't yet, and the new gun came with an AR-536 scope (came with it but I haven't mounted it or used it yet.) So which scope would be your preference. I like things about both of them, but an undecided. I'll appreciate hearing from those experienced folk with your advice and opinions. Thanks!!
  5. I have not. In Bremerton and Port Townsend, I didn't know about Shelton. I'll be down when the weather warms up a bit. Thanks!
  6. I'm sure many of you have seen this, but with all the threads on magazines, I just had to post it for you that haven't yet. Cheers.
  7. Hi all. I've lurked here for a while. I currently do CAS shooting regularly and IPSC occasionally (no place close to me). I really want to do 3-Gun (yeah, CAS is 3-gun too). I sold my marketing business and retired only to get my FFL and open a store front. Lots of temptation. If I have a fault, I'm always changing guns and calibers but currently have a Glock 34 I've done the usual things too, an custom built AR by Mean Green, and a JP CTR-02 rifle. I keep selling my shotguns (FN's). So I'll keep reading and learning and contribute when I have something worth contributing. Great group and very helpful website. Thanks!
  8. A friend here spoke with JP yesterday regarding removing a bloop tube from his upper and they said they wont take any new customer work for 6 mos. I don't know how this translates to new builds, but I think your April date in unlikely. Just my opinion, of course. Good luck.
  9. Thanks Donny. I'm looking forward to spring.
  10. Thanks guys. It went home with me. I'll marry her up to an MTAC I have or use the AR-536 that came with it. I'm really excited. Now if it will just get warm here.
  11. Hi Gurus. A friend is offering me a JP CTR-02 with every bell and whistle plus an upper set up for open sight with a heavy barrel with a bloop tube and the micrometer sight set-up. How often do 'open sight' competitions come up. I'm thinking of breaking them up and just keeping the competition gun. I'm looking forward to shooting the rifle but not sneaking it in past 'Ol eagle eye' (alias my wife. Anyone shooting a CTR-02, I'd appreciate your feedback as well. Thanks folks.
  12. We have several folks who shoot them at CAS matches and the above is good advice, i.e.: steel frame. Uberti, or Pietta make reliable BP firearms. Check on CAS city for lots of info for BP shooters. And have fun.
  13. That's interesting re: 50 yds because the front sight has settings for 7, 25, and 50 yds. Thanks for the reply.
  14. I came across a very cool revolver made by Ron Powers. From the little I can find out these guns were for PPC. Are they still legal? What's a fair value to pay. Nice gun with the most amazing trigger I've ever seen. The only reason he's selling is he has 2 of them. Thanks Guru's.
  15. You might also take a look at the 930 Blackwater.
  16. Super. Thanks!! It has a JP Trigger on it. Might follow me home after all.
  17. I've been looking at the STI Tactical/competition rifle for 3 gun and wondered if anyone was using one and what they thought of it. I'd probably pair it with a Burris MTAC. I have a custom rifle Mean Green made for me but it's set up for long range and I hate to change something that's working for me so well. Thanks for the input folks.
  18. I love SASS shooting. Pheasant hunting. Varmint hunting. Shooting with my grandkids. (actually doing anything with them). Collecting guns. Big family barbeques.
  19. Part of the selection process is national competitions. We have a young lady in our community we are a minor sponsor for (our gun shop) who just made the US National team in International Skeet. What did it take-years of lessons from Matt Dryke (old time trap shooters will know who he is) and her Dad bought a PALLET or shells each month. She won US Junior nationals and is 3rd in the US overall. That's what it takes.
  20. I shoot trap, 5 stand, CAS, and want to shoot USPSA and IDPA. Just another shooting opportunity. I'm an FFL so lots of gun choices, but it will be a 9mm. So I'm unclear regarding what type bullets (the projectile themselves) are legal for USPSA/IDPA. For instance CAS is lead only to reduce splatter from jacketed bullets. If jacketed is legal that would be my choice over plated, but I don't want to invest in a bunch of bullets I'll never use. Thanks folks. BTW, I really like the site and the polite and helpful people here. Doc
