  1. I love the Dan wesson revolvers. Don't think Ty would bethe best for games but I think it would be fun to run it. I have 4 of them right now, a 357 with 2, 4, 6, and 8 inch barrels. And 357, 375 and 445 Supermags Here is a picture of the 445 super mag next to a regular 44mag And here are my supermag revolvers
  2. If you don't care about te finish of the revolver you could get a propane torch out and heatthe barrel around te bullet. Should soften the lead enough to push to push it. I have never done this but I am just throwing it put there as an idea.
  3. I think it would be fine. I have not heard of any problems and I follow the S&W boards pretty closely.
  4. I personally like the way the facoty combat grips fit my hand. They are a bit pricey now though compared to aftermarket grips.
  5. I am more of a collector/shooter than using my smiths for competition. I always try to buy pre lock and will even lay a premium for them. With that said, if he gun you are usin has not had any problems and you are usin it for competition or as a tool then you would have no reason sell and buy again.
  6. The ultrasonics work well at cleaning but you would then need to take the revolver apart and oil as necessary. I fully strip all my revolvers when I purchase them and clean and oil. The fast majority will never be cleaned like that again as they get shot only a couple of time a year. The 17/617 get cleaned much more often as they get ford 1000x more than any centerfire I own.
  7. The only thing to really worry about is price.
  8. I actually have a 657 3 inch as my night stand gun. It is a blast to shoot. Also have a 624 3 inch that is a little easier and just brought home an original 627pc blood work gun. 8 rounds of house 357 mags back to back at the indoor range will turn a few heads. It is my new favorite.
  9. I had S&W to a chamfer job on my 625 before I knew better, wish I had that money back.
  10. I really like the big butt grips as well. They really fill my hand and shift the center point of the gun back slightly.
  11. I like my 610 a lot and would buy one again in a heart beat. I also love my dan wesson 357 supermag, that revolver is a beast and is truly beautiful.
  12. Spend some time on calguns.net We have a bunch of great information on there. 44mag.com sells magazine rebuild kits to people in California. I know a lot of people, including myself, that bought a lot of hi caps before the ban for guns that they did not even own at the time. What ever you do, do not bring your hi caps in the state unless that are broken down into pieces and do not re-assemble them until you leave the state. A lot of people are working on changing the laws through the court and we have made good progress over the last 3 years. Good luck.
