  1. As others have said, dry fire in DA, that's about what it took for me to go from a 2011 to my Accu Shadow. It was about a week of dry fire to where it was no longer an issue.

If you load your own ammo and use Federal primers, get the CGW 8.5# spring. This will drop the DA down to ~4.5#

Also work on your reloads and movement. Those will more than make up the extra time you may need for the first DA shot.

  2. The longer base pads assist in seat the mag, as opposed to the flush fitting mags, especially if you have large meaty hands. The ~0.5oz additional weight also helps them drop easier. Lastly, the alloy pads are more durable.

  3. Bullets out is the primer side of the round is facing the belt.

Bullets forward is the round is positioned so the side of the round it towards the belt, with the bullet facing forward.

    Bullets forward is most common

  4. Just lube generously and see at what point it fails. I shot a 3 day (2000rd) class with a new to me gun that I didn't do any maintenance to during that time. On the flip side, there were guys running polymer guns, cleaned daily and still had failures. And people say the 1911/2011 platform isn't reliable.

I have a 9mm 2011 that I used in another class last year, and 4 USPSA matches this year and still haven't cleaned it, just add some lube when needed.

Here the barrel after that 3 day class

  5. there is no bull barrel version of the shadow.

there is only 2 versions and both use the exact same 'match barrel'. the difference is the accu shadow barrel is a little longer.

I thought CZC bought oversized blanks for the "match" barrel version, then fit them to the gun vs. the regular accu Shadow which uses the stock barrel?

I know CZC buys oversized blanks for the threaded extended barrels they sell, it would seem they're using the same blanks for this gun and not threading the barrels.

Factory barrel is used. The serial number on the barrel matches the slide and frame numbers, and has the proof marks
  6. This was my 4th match, 2nd time shooting Production.

I really sucked on the first stage. I had a M (barely) on the far left target on the 2nd stage, but finished 4th (of 28) overall in Production and 1st (of 18) in U.

  7. I have a 75 shadow custom target I got for IDPA, then later picked up a "used" sp01 shadow (maybe 50 rounds) at a local gun shop to have as a back up, or use the 75 as a back up after I worked up the SP01. I like the 75 better as well. I don't notice a huge difference when shooting 130 pf ammo between the two when it comes to recoil, but the 75 seems to handle better for me. I'll be shooting it at WA state and maybe WI state this year - but then I'll stick with revolvers for the next year.....If I can manage to keep the CZs in the safe.

You can send the CZ's to me :)
  8. I just worked up some loads 2 weeks ago.
