Cd662 I beleive that there are a faction of individuals that would shoot revolver in uspsa if they were allowed to shoot 8 round guns regardless of scoring. There are people that would shy away from standing reloads in a mostly 8 shot friendly format of uspsa. The side effect is that there will be some 6/major guys converting to 8/minor. I believe the purpose of most of the research going on is if there is a significant difference between 6/major and 8/minor. I do not believe that you can incorporate 8/minor if there is a significant competitive advantage over the 6/major guns. please correct me if I am wrong.

so how did you do 6/major vs 8/minor?

It's been my experience that moon clips are not that much faster than speed loaders if any at all... if you practice you can do both equally as quick... both my ICORE retro percentages and my limited percentages are fairly equal.. I don't think anything we do is going to make a significant difference in how many revo shooters come out to play in uspsa... it takes more skill and concentration to shoot revo division. just allowing 8 shots isn't going to make a limited shooter to go spend a grand on a 627 and then dump another 600 in moons, brass, and equipment. but it might draw some of the icore guys over to play.. making moon clip guns minor would kill the division (in my opinion)

I am having a hard time trying to grasp what a moon clip has to do with competitive advantage. Wtg im curious what is your revo classification and how often do you shoot revo? Most of the revo shooters I shoot with would give up the major scoring for two extra rounds even if it isn't always an advantage.

Like I said on the trip home... if uspsa will do for the revo division what they did with the single stack i will shoot an 8 shot/minor power factor. It would not be dividing the numbers of revo shoots because we will all still be in the same division... 6 shots= major 7 or more=minor no dots or ports just plain old good fun with the round gun...... the only thing it can do it get more participation in the revolver division.......

Why won't the NRA form a non-LEO division. CPC or something of the like.. use the same rules just change the word Police out of the title.. they still shoot it Oklahoma with revo's, our state match is the first part of August.. way too hot to enjoy.

my 2 cents: I carry a gun daily, for work and self preservation. while often i opt for the 5 shot j frame pocket carry for those quick trips to the store I would find an N frame a little heavy for most concealed carry opportunities. pros: 6 shots of 10mm will ruin a bad guys day revolvers do not experience the frequency of malfunctions that semi-autos do no safeties to defeat cons: 6 shots of 10mm probably isn't as effective as 8 shots of .357 (as stated above) or 27 rounds of .40sw quality holsters aren't as available you need to carry a reload... moon clips aren't as easy to carry most of the time I either open carry a glock 22 or IWB carry a glock 23, i always carry at least 1 spare magazine reliability and ease of function revo wins every time.... no stove pipes, no limp wristing.. just point and click but since I train with my carry gun those aren't an issue and Ill take the quantity over style every time.

revo, 38 points 7.37 seconds 5.1560 hit factor... calc says 50% but as they say the revo numbers are kinda messed up

I just had one made here in Oklahoma by triple crown for my Gp100. It's outstanding..... If you want I have a 4 inch security 6 he can mold one from.

i still haven't figured mine out.. last i loaded was 2. something of clays with the 160. I loaded them long.. they all had a buldge in the case, i have to rung them through a factory crimp die to get them to chamber... im kinda of at a loss and thinking of going to specials or long colts.

we could always start the rumor that he wants to shoot revolvers...
