  1. "Common denominator: 55gr through 1:7 barrels." Have you run across any one having trouble that didn't have 1:7 twist? Or more with 1:7 barrels with the problem? 55gr not the problem. Read through this thread. I've shot plenty of 55s through 1:7 barrels. Never been an issue as evident in the picture below. This picture is the exact same load, 10.5 barrel, 1:7 twist. Only difference being I used a Hornady 55 instead of the MG 55.
  2. I submitted a question at about 8:30 this morning and just got a response. So apparently, phones calls and emails are not the way to go. Much better from the online contact form. I got the same reply. I had ordered two cases (7k total) from December and January. The way I take it, those bullets are going to get shelved and be considered a no go for all of them. I had to buy a case of Hornady 55s.
  3. I just sent another as well. We'll see how long it takes for a reply. Hopefully, we have as much lunch as ClutchUSMC did.
  4. Sounds like you might be amoung the privileged few. I hadn't heard back from any of my 4 attempts. I guess I'll try again today.
  5. Has anyone else heard back from Montana Gold? I've called multiple times, leaving a voicemail each time. I've wrote emails. I have not had a single response. I just want to get someone on the phone to see what the game plan is. I was relying on these for all of my 3gun loads this year. Obviously that's out the window. How many here have actually been able to make contact with MG?
  6. They did. Then I hope they do replaced the defective bullets. I've called and left voicemails. No return phone call yet. I'll try again today.
  7. Sounds like the same problem I'm having ============================ I have a good buddy who had, what appears to be, a series of baffle strikes at a recent carbine match. Up to this point, rifle had about 200 rounds through it. Battlecomp was brand new. Rifle is a factory Noveske MK18, M249 barrel, 1:7 twist. Ammo are reloads: 24.5 tac, 55gr montana gold, tula SMRM primers. Here are the results: Another buddy and I were shooting the same ammo, both 16" BCM BFH rifles, both with Battlecomps. Both shot great (infact, I took 3rd overall). I verified after the match that my Battlecomp was free of strikes and it looked like new. I have shot that ammo since then on the range with a chrono, but no rifle matches. Well, I took a look tonight and this is what I found: It had to have happened during chrono. I see a ton of people using this load and I couldn't find a single other instance. I worked this load up with both my 16" BCM and my 18" Loki and 24.5 was most accurate. I was hoping that this would be my go to round for 3-gun for anything shy of 200 yards. What do you guys think? I need some help on this one. Doesn't sound like this is that common of an incurrance. Yet it seems to have happened to both us of. Common denominator: 55gr through 1:7 barrels.
  8. My google-foo must be failing me. Is there a thread already started on this? Sounds like I need to give MG a call?

  10. I'm using Varget for both my 55gr stuff as well as my 68, 69, and 75gr loads.
  11. My notes have 616 grams per 100 cases.
  12. Or maybe the two disciplines worked together and came up with a compromise? I wouldnt want to shoot in the crap that came down this morning.

  14. Come out and join us for Wildcat Valley MultiGun match Sunday, 3-11-2012 for the next match in the Indiana MultiGun Series. It will be a fun and challenging test of your rifle, handgun, and shotgun skills. We are planning on 6 courses of fire. MATCH DATE: Sunday April 29, 2012 Registration: 9:00AM Shooters' Meeting: 10:15 AM Match starts immediately following shooters' meeting RULES: Indiana MultiGun Rules Please see our website, IndianaMultiGun.com for more info. MATCH FEE: $25 Adult, $15 for juniors with paid adult. Half off for ROs. Half off for Saturday Set Up Crew. SET-UP: Set-up will be on Saturday before the match. This Saturday, we will get started around 2:00. Please let us know if you can help, even if only for an hour. The more help we get from volunteers, the better the matches will be! Approximate Round Count: 75 Rifle 75 Pistol 75 Birdshot I recommend that you bring double the numbers above for the ammo that you bring to the match. You can always take ammo back home with you, but running out at the match is a bummer! If you shot one of our Multigun matches before, you can expect this match’s difficulty level to be similar. If haven’t shot one of our Multigun matches, you may find this match to be somewhat more demanding than your typical USPSA or IDPA club pistol match— expect some shots to be a bit more technically demanding, and some shooting positions to be a bit more awkward physically. It will benefit you to know the point of impact (POI) of all 3 of your guns, from contact distance out to approximately 200 yards. Half-scale paper targets will be used for rifle, Fuhrman Precision Services, Inc Signal Targets will be used for long range(8in AR500 plate). Please see our website, IndianaMultiGun.com for more info. NOTE: that all matches at AtlantaCC and Wildcat Valley are conducted under a COLD RANGE as per USPSA rules. All guns must be either holstered (or bagged) at all times, unloaded, hammer down, with no magazine inserted. Long guns should remain bagged, or in a rack with an open action, and/or an "empty chamber indicator" (flag) in place. It is the shooter's responsibility to ensure that the muzzle of any gun is never pointed in an unsafe direction. You may only handle your gun only at the direction of the range officer (RO), or in the designated "safe areas." You may not handle any ammunition or loaded magazines in the safe areas. Violation of these or any other safety rules shall result in a match disqualification.

  16. I'm extremely excited to get the shooting season started. Looks like while be bringing a gang from Lafayette.
  17. Ah, just found the website. Everything I need. Thanks.
  18. I hear Benny Hill is the to-go-to guy when it comes to Benellis. I have an M2 that doesn't like to cycle reliably. I'm trying to get a hold of him to see if he wouldn't mind taking a look at it and seeing if he can go over it. I've tried to send him messages and email through Enos. Does anyone have a phone number for him that they could send to me? I would love nothing else but to rely on my M2. Thanks
