    just double checked.

PCR slide stop will fit in Shadow 2, TSO, TS2 and CM, CM Parrot

Excellent, I just placed the order.  Thanks to everyone for the help.  Sure am enjoying the Parrot...

    Skip

  2. I took the one out of my Shadow 2 Orange and tried it in my Parrot.  The rod part was too short.  I found one place that had them in Canada, but they said UPS is losing too many packages so they no ship to the US.  CZ Custom said they are out and have no idea when they will get more stock ones.  I emailed DOT40 and asked them about the Eemann Tech slide stop, but haven't heard back yet.

  3. It says it will fit a CZ75 tactical sport.  Would that then fit the Czechmate?  It doesn't sound like it will....

  4. This is for a CZ Parrot/Czechmate, and the slide stops are very hard to find right now.  It came with 4 pins that won't hold the slide back.  I have those as back ups, but I like the ability to lock the slide back in case of a misfeed.  They make the gun look goofy with a big square hold on the side.

  5. I field strip and clean my autos(Shadow2, STI open, CZ Parrot) after each match. Mags get cleaned  twice a year or when they are dropped in mud.  My revolver gets the cylinder cleaned and everything else wiped down after each match.  I haven't cleaned any of their barrels in several years.

This might not count as a Deadpool prediction, but I'd like to see the concept of SAO superiority go away. As a former die-hard and now occasional Production shooter, I could care less if someone wants to run a 9mm 19111 in the same division. By the same token, when I shoot 3 gun I don't get all butt hurt because someone chooses a 1911 and I run my CZ Shadow in DA mode to start. So based on that:

Open, CO, Limited, LoCap Irons, plus Revo and PCC just because.

Open stays because Top Fuel Drag Racing and Trophy Trucks, CO and Limited stay because it's hard to argue with success, and roll Production and SS together for a low cap division. PCC has extended a lot of older shooter's participation in the sport, plus it has given rifle shooters a playground to experiment with. I see PCC as a positive for the sport so it stays. Revo stays for the three people that shoot it, because where else do you put them? Besides, they'll all be in nursing homes soon enough and we can eliminate the division at the next go around. L-10 can go away from lack of need. So 6 divisions for now, and 5 after the last Rascal Scooter battery back dies. Just kidding Revo guys.

I don't really care about mag restrictions. I shoot open, production, singlestack and limited in 3 gun, and enjoy them all. But what if, for the sake of argument, all the high cap divisions were restricted to 140mm, including PCC? As an open shooter, I might be slightly inconvenienced with one more reload per the occasional match, and PCC guys would have to reload on long field courses, which might alleviate some of the hate. For my Lo Cap division, 10 minor / 8 major and go have fun. Just spit balling on the mag capacity thing, I really don't care one way or the other.

I like this idea, except I would roll revo in with the rest of the low cap.  I would also add a low cap optic division.

I had to ream the forcing cone on my 617 because it was spitting lead.  Once done I had no more problems.  You can buy a kit from Brownell's.  If you shoot a lot of revos it's worth being able to do it yourself.  If you have friends with revolvers go together to get the tools.

I didn't see one of these kits on Brownell's website or am I not looking in the right place?

  8. Okay, problem fixed.  I took the gun to our local guru gunsmith.  He recut the feed ramp and polished it up.  He also took a bit of metal off the bottom of the ejector.  It now feeds Everglades JHP(V1  and V2), round nose bullets, and minor factory 9mm rounds flawlessly.  I ran the factory 26 and 20 round mags.  I then put in my 29 round CZC spring kit and base pad, which also works perfectly.

Thanks for all of your input.

  9. Craig, I went down and checked that, no luck.  I loaded it up with 25 dummy and started racking it and it jammed.  As I looked closer at this round, I noticed that it shifted to one side.  Another one looked the same way.

I've a similar problem with two pistols  -- CZSP01 and the other a 1911.  In both cases increasing the COL helped, but the real item that fixed the issue were magazines. Ensure proper spring length in 26 rnd mags, if you haven't already.

What would be the proper spring length for these?

I had to tune my 26 big stick. I tried it with grams guts when I made my attempt to tune it and it didn't work very well. However, the stock spring and follower worked with my tuning and the CZC base pad. With the CZC base pad and my tuning I was able to get 28+1 in the mag. I tested and tested them at the range after my tuning and both of my big sticks ran fine.  I ran one USPSA match using minor ammo and had one mag fail on me (go figure).

I tried running Everglades 124 gr major match ammo but I could not get it to cycle. I think the OAL is too long for my Czechmate as it would catch the lip of the feed ramp.

How did you tune your mags?  Just the lips or squeezing the tube in a vice?

  12. I took my new Parrot out this  morning for some more breaking in.  All mags were left fully loaded for a couple of days and had  at least 50 rounds each thru them.  The factory 20 round mags work perfect.  The 26 round mag not so much. It would jam on each of the first 7 rounds. After that it would work just fine.  I ran 125 rounds thru it. I am using Everglades 124gr JHP loaded out to 1.150.  I use these in all of my guns with no issues.  I ran one mag of factory 9mm and still had the same issues.  Any thoughts?

I know there are some tuning posts out there, but is that needed for a stock factory mag?

Other than the 1 mag, this is one sweet gun...

  13. I don't think it splits it.  Revolver stays as it is, with no one participating.  Today if you want to you use an optic, you go to open.  If there is no one else doing the same, you compete against no one.  If you can use it in Prod, it give you someone to compete against.  Not very even, but it's something.
