  1. That's the exact load I was using with WST last year. It kept the pasters very busy. I blasted the head clean off of one target and tore out the A's on a couple more at close range. They now put me last for some reason...
  2. A 617 is how I broke my DA revolver trigger finger in. Just get a couple bulk packs of Federal Auto Match from Wal-Mart and have at it. Don't forget the 6mm brush to clean the chambers (often) with. Also it helps to have grips that fit you. A big plus for shooting wheels is the ability to change grips.
  3. I think Jesus's story would have been much more interesting if he had a gun.
  4. I guess that means I can send in my beloved #45 plate to be machined.
  5. Installed my subplate today. Cycled empty brass af .38 spl. and 7.62 X 39 on plate #6. all went well. I could not get them to hickup.
  6. Please let us know how 9mm based cartridges eject in the new EZ-ject system.

  8. BTW, Titegruop and HS-6 are getting the lowest pressures at that speed.
  9. Hey Beav, Hodgdon Powders; 180 gr. LFP .452 COL: 1.140" Clays 3.8gr 783 fps 11,600 CUP FWIW; 155 LSWC 4.9 gr 1040 fps 16,100 CUP
  10. BTW, "Lathesmith" over on castboolits forum sells dies. They look good too.
  11. Ordered mine Monday. They told me one month wait. I ordered the shovel handle and the adjustable heater, I don't see myself needing anything more though the small case feeder looks nice so I don't resize my thumb.
  12. Is the Butte also a full wadcutter? I imagine from the business end it looks like you stuffed your cylinder with molten lead.
  13. Came across this on Magma engineerings website; http://www.magmaengineering.com/products-m...;category_id=12 230 grain .357 I know some of you pinshooters use 230 grainers, but this is the first full wadcutter I've seen that size. Just curious if anybody uses these and what does load data look like with pressure building very quickly I'm sure. Lotsa bearing surface.
  14. I also am loading on primers bought last year. In fact I wasn't aware that the shortage was this bad until I routinely asked for a sleeve at the local shop, none to be had. Get this, I went to purchase a specific bipod for my rifle online today which typically goes for $50, also none to be found. I saw somebody offering $200 bounty for one online! So now accessories are being hit.
  15. I see in the 2009 catalog they have two .45 PTX's now one for .451 & one .452. Perhaps that will help you lead shooters. Also, I polished the tips of mine for smoother operation as well as many moving parts on my LNL.
  16. I have no experience with that one, but just dropped my home made pos for this and it works great, although spendy. Fits in your pocket too. http://www.dillonprecision.com/content/p/9...ptool_for_45ACP
  17. I PTX in 3 calibers and it has worked great from the get-go for me although I have heard of others having issues. Something must be up if they think they need to improve it.... or sell you something else.
  18. Yes, no reason you cannot use your retrofitted plates with the wire eject. Word is they are very busy over there with several of their product lines.
  19. I'm in the same boat. When I started loading I went straight to a progressive press now I inherited a perfectly good single stage press and have not yet found a use for it. If it would take my LNL bushings I could work up loads on it and tranfer it to the progressive, but it doesn't. It's not worth much. I'm thinking loaner press for new re-loader friends.
  20. Just picked up the plates and sub plate assembly yesterday. Unfortunately I will not get to test anything for some time now as I don't need to change calibers. Will take in the #45 plate when I'm all loaded up.
  21. I've been looking into fabricating my own sight slot. Where can I find an endmill or keyhole cutter. Brownells search ends with nothing.
  22. I also use the Home Depot 8/32 set screw. I have yet to shoot a season with it though it looks solid. My only concern is it eating into the spring, but nobody that uses them has reported this problem. This is perhaps why S&W uses screws made of Play Doh?
  23. While calculating cost, don't forget about the much higher price of .38/.357 moonclips and the costs of the specific brass you will need to fit them, someone else can explain that better and there are threads-a-plenty on it. In the 625 Ranch moons, $35 per 100, and mixed range brass has worked well for me. FWIW the only local guy that consistently bests me in the revolver divisions shoots a 4" mooned 686.
  24. Only one revolver??? That's what I said six revolvers ago! I must have an addiction.
