  1. When did SIG start offering a 21rnd mag for the P320?
  2. JGUS I apologize for making you mad. That was not my intent. This is actually the point I was trying (unsuccessfully) to make. I read the OP's question as are the X5s now collectible from an investment standpoint. And IMO the X5 in general isn't an investment type of collectible. One of the items I tend to collect is SIG handguns. I currently have 23 of them. At one point 5 of the SIGs in my collection were P220s none of which were chambered in 45. I sold the two 38 Super P220s because I never shot them. I didn't consider them as investments and I didn't see the point of having a gun in the safe that I didn't shoot.
  3. The X5 is a mass produced gun of no historical importance. IMO the "standard" versions of the X5 are not collectables. Some ultra-rare versions like the P220 X6 9mm or the P220 X6 45/9 combo kit, and some of the Mastershop guns I would consider to have marginal collectable status. Price increases merely due to lack of availability because of being superseded by an improved product is not the same as being a collectable to me. The X-Line guns currently aren't being made either. Does that make them collectables as well? I view the X-Line guns as more desirable than the stretched P226 X5s. So to me the X-Line guns are more of a collectable.
  4. I would gladly trade my 5 P226 X5s for the new style X-Line. The reason for the redesign was to strengthen the slide to prevent slide cracking yet still remain light weight.
  5. May I ask how recent that Bedell build is? It looks like a newer comp design than the one I have. I am not 100% sure of how old the build. Maybe Jeff (Sudden Death) will drop in an answer the question for you.
  6. Not a collectible in my book. I have six of them and I plan on shooting them a ton! Here is a project that is in progress using my new X5E. And here I did a trial fit of the compensator.
  7. A spur of the moment cell phone video I shot yesterday of Jeff Gordon with his Bedell 9mm open pistol

    Extractor X5

The two X5ARs in the video on the GGI website are mine. The black gun had always had an issue with extracting consistently but it did always extract. Bruce tuned the extractor and while it still wasn't perfect it did extract more consistently. The silver gun was having the same problem as the OPs gun prior to having the GGI extractor installed. As shown in the video the GGI extractor solved that problem. As a side note the claw on the extractor in the black gun did eventually break and I went ahead and had GGI install one of their extractors in it instead of just installing a new factory extractor. So I now three of my five X5s have the GGI extractors.
  9. The movement is typical of a single sided mount without a thumb rest. And no the dot "noise" isn't all that apparent at real time speeds. Thumb rests really seem to dampen this vibration.
  10. The slo mo apps really don't help much when trying to analyze what is going on because you are still looking at the same number of frame captures. The video I posted above I shot at 600fps and then played it back at an equivalent rate of 1200fps but there is still only 600fps of data. So you still need enough fps to capture the motion detail you are looking for.
  11. The down side to doing this is the camera is between the shooter and the gun. Trying to aim by looking at the display of the camera can be difficult.
  12. A lot of interesting video and info in this thread.
  13. Three vertical ports with side vents and one horizontal. If you check out Brad's Facebook page you he has several pics. he has one that has side vents and one that doesn't. If I remember right the one used in the video was the one with the vents.
  14. The non vertical tracking on Brad's gun is most likely due to the thumb rest. When doing the high speed video I have seen this with every gun I have done video on that was equipped with a thumb rest. As for details on his gun. I can't remember who built the gun.
  15. This is a video shot through the scope of Brad Griffin's open gun to show the dot tracking. The video was shot at 600fps. https://youtu.be/arSD8glI4jU And here is my attempt at designing a comp to tame major 9 in a Glock 17. Since shooting this video I have reduced the slide weight and added a magwell and optic mount and the guns shoots surprisingly flat for a 9 major Glock.
  16. http://www.gregcotellc.com/ I have bought a bunch of mags from Greg. I highly recommend him.
  17. Well I checked the 320 with a P226 JPoint mount and it looks like it should fit fine.
  18. The dovetail is the same but I am not sure if a P226 mount would work because the shape of the top of the slide is different. I have a P226 mount at home. I'll dig it out and see if the plate will mate up to the P320 slide contour. Might be a couple days before I get a chance to do it though.
  19. I hope you enjoy it Dave. That is the last competition version I had left. Lucky it was the color you wanted!!!

  21. I got my Speedsec holster through FastDrawFastShot.net
  22. http://www.hoeppner-schumann.de/index.php/katalog/category/view/1 They make holsters for the new X line guns. I have one of the Speedsec 4 holsters for new X5.
  23. Yes that is the rear sight I used. Sorry I can't remember the front sight height required for zero. You might try calling or messaging Bruce Gray. He might be able to tell you off the top of his head what height will get you in the ball park.
  24. I don't have a pic before I added the FO to the rear Slant Pro sight but this will give you an idea what the combo looks like.
  25. I used a Heinie slant pro rear and a Dawson front. From your description of the rear sight they sent you it almost sounds like they sent you a replacement for the MMC sight that is on the P226 Elite Dark.
