  1. Check this video out. It's an interview from a couple of years ago with two National team F/TR shooters. They go over a lot of details, but at 12:33 they talk on bullet tipping.
  2. Man, with snipershide sucking I was really excited about finding this subgroup in benos. There just doesn't seem to be very much traffic here. Nothing like the pistol and 3 gun shooting areas.
  3. Can you elaborate..? Two different people have had the same problem.
  4. This exact situation happened with me. The claimed it was a "plug boot". So they did a tune up on it. 2 months later same thing. Then they said bad spark plugs. I bought the "platinum" extended warranty when I bought the truck trying to cover situations just like this. I ended up talking to the Service manager about it and they covered the repairs. It really seems funny to me that the best extended warranty they sell doesn't cover these items. On the positive side, my fuel mileage has gone up. 2012?
  5. If there was a search or a view new post button like the old site, it would be easier to use.
  6. If I understand what you are saying, you are intending on your 300 yard target telling you what your bullet drop is by adjusting your scope and shooting all rounds at 300. If this is what you plan, you wi be measuring the scope adjustments and not the true flight path of the bullet. A better measure would be to sight your rifle in, and without adjusting your scope, shoot at different distances while aiming dead center to see what your bullet actually drops at those distances.
  7. I wholeheartedly agree that the reticle and knobs should match and that no matter what you have you should think in those measurements. FFP is nice if you are going to truly use the reticle for holds or measurements at ALL magnification. In my opinion, to say one is easier or better than the other is subjective. Ford vs Chevy. They are both angular measurements. If your shooting partner has a moa scope and you have a mil scope, then you have to convert to discuss your holds. Which have you heard the most "that target is a 1.164 mil big." Or "that target is 4 moa big"? "My group was .145 mils" or "my group is 1/2 moa". Most of the time people say 1" is 1 moa. A 4" target at 100 yards to them is a 4 moa target, when it is actually a 3.82 moa target. Either way to measure with an imperial measurement device you have to break it down to inches. You can't measure something without referencing a measurement system you know and understand. 1 moa= 1.047 inches 1 mil= 3.6 inches. I have scopes in both types. I like using moa and find myself breaking Mils to moa. Just my personal preference. Congrats on he vortex. It is a great scope and you will not be disappointed.
  8. It may not be perfect combo but I like the AR15 platform and think the round does well, at least in my rifle. 20" Krieger 1:9 barrel Maxim bolt Mega receivers I have been doing testing on the factory Hornady 123gr SST. 2540fps av. I took these videos through my spotting scope. I shot first at 500. Hit steel on th first shot. Then I shot two rounds at the clay, first off the right edge, 2nd shot dead on. Second video I go from 500 to 750, listen to the scope dial for proof of first round hit. Then first round on a 12" plate. I then tried to shoot the little tennis ball to the right of the steel. I couldn't quite get the wind figured out, but I have the elevation figured out on that particular round. I have had a lot of fun with it so far. I will be putting some 123gr AMAX loads together soon to test. I understand them to have a better BC than the SST even though Hornady lists them as the same. ETA: for a little more info.
  9. Nevermind, I see your 308 velocities now.
  10. You can go to you tube and see Chris Costa or Kyle Lamb using this method but this is the only/best description I found and I would take Jerry's advice over just about anybody's when it comes to a firearm.
  11. Ok. I did some more searching and found this thread. How to adjust WSM2 I followed the instruction manual someone posted and adjusted it around until the Glock fit. I think it would be fine. Here are some pics.
  12. No. I am asking about the CR Speed WSM 2 that is not model specific and is advertised as "universal". WSM 2 "universal"
  13. I know this is necro posting but does the universal fit glock?
  14. Which Shim worked for you? (B, C) I just changed from B to C and it made a big difference on my shot pattern. Everything was very high. Now I have about 60% of pellets above POA and 40% below. I believe I put a C? Whichever was the most dramatic angle.
  15. I have a Benny gun that I bought second hand. When I first got it it shot real high left for me. The natural poa was off. I was seeing the top of the barrel everytime I shouldered it. I emailed Benny and he told me to get a shim kit from benelli and adjust the poi like that. Changed the shotgun from something I couldn't shoot to a tack driver for a 20(?) bucks.
  16. Nevermind. I reread your post and realized you said 100 not 1050. reading is hard
  17. Thanks for doing this Jim! I am very excited about this match. I called he number you posted for la Quinta but it is in Decatur. The Bridgeport number is 9406832040. They were not sure of rates as of yet. Again thank you for hosting and being MD. Great to know we won't lose out on such a great match.
  18. I noticed that too. I called and spoke with barbera. There is a problem with the system and the it guy is out for right now. The classifiers have not updated correctly according to her.
  19. When I first got mine it had the large primer tube in it. Of course my small primers were flipping upside down. It took a little bit to figure out what was happening...
  20. I took the MOA correction from each mark on the reticle in my XTR and compared it to the calculator. I then used the yardages that the calculator had for each correction instead of the factory set points. I came up with numbers like 329 and 456 but I'm not having to guess where the mark will hit. It was pretty true. Original reticle
  21. Sweet! I'm in! When will the webpage be updated? Any idea on a match hotel? (match discounted rates)
  22. I WANNA GO!! It is looking good so far. Sweet! Mine is in the mail!
