  2. We met with the Benelli USA rep today and struck an agreement with them to bring 30+ shotguns (sporting & tactical) to the LaRue shoot for your shooting fun. Benelli reps will be there to answer all your questions and would appreciate your comments & suggestions. We will have a range setup for shot and slug testing, just bring your favorite brand of ammo and have a blast. FredQ
  3. I was told this morning that the match is full... FredQ
  4. I've shot out there before, just usually concentrate my time at Impact Zone. Shoot with Doug often at Copperas Cove as well. Are you and fred coming to cove this weekend? shane Our plan is to be there Shane. FredQ
  5. All of those places are so close to home.....especially the College Station one You did a bang up job last year Greg; we all have faith in you this year as well. I didn't think there was a range in College Station big enough for the range. I have heard some good things about the Orange range. The College Station range is a private facility with 600, 700, & 1000 yard ranges, an operational 100 person, 25 meter tactical pistol/shotgun/carbine range that is in the process of being expanded to 50 meters, and a 40 shooter carbine range from 0 - 200 yards. It has approx 900 acres of natural terrain with good elevation changes with most areas having shots out to 500+ yards. The property has a 30 acre lake with some of the best jungle run areas you could ever want. A 30 x 40 ft classroom with covered porches is being built and should be complete in in the next few months. You could park a 1000 vehicles with out a problem. There is a beautiful camp area south of the lake and all access roads are oil field stout... I spent the weekend detailing maps and shooting areas and spent today out in the field checking areas with range finder and walking all the potential stage areas. I will have a GIS Mapping specialist out this week to create large detailed maps of the area. If this facility is selected or NOT we have plans to have a invitational 3-gun match early next year. That's enough range info for now, but if you have never been to the College Station area you are in for a treat. Lots of great eating places, tons of hotels. a major airport just 20 minutes from the range and only minutes from Texas A&M and downtown College Station. Thanks, FredQ
  6. In the interest of Irons Sight Shooters, Sheldon Blackwell of Hamilton, Tx won first place in the Tac-Pro 3 gun shoot yesterday. He shot irons and won the match against a large field of optic shooters. Weather was overcast and visibility was poor on unpainted target, which ranged from 100 to 300 yards with the majority over 200 yards. Sheldon posted the top raw time and score on many of the stage. This is the second year in a row that Sheldon has won the Tac-Pro shoot, last year with optics. We had a good turnout of iron shooters at this match. Brock Hamel of JP Rifles flew in from Minnesota, shot irons and placed 9th overall. Good shooting guys... FredQ
  7. Where is the stats shack located? Do we turn in off of Hiwassee Rd to the skeet fields or go to the main club house off of Sorghum Mill Rd? See ya Friday... FredQ
  8. Jim, Thanks a ton for the feedback - this is what I've been waiting to hear. So, the Knous 20-60X 100mm lets you see .223 holes at 300 yards for a hair over $300. That's what I needed to know. Doug Doug, I will have my Konus 20x60 at the La Grange shoot on Sunday if you can make it. FredQ
  9. I received mine after 3 1/2 months on order. Got it last friday and shot a match with it on saturday. It is very different from a factory or match trigger, the first stage is very light and short the second stage you never feel it move, it just goes bang after very little pressure. I measured the over all weight at 2.5 lbs. It is very crisp. There is a real trick to getting the thing out of your receiver, took a while to figure it out, may be related to that receiver/safety. Over all I think I will like it. I really like the safety features it has. FredQ
  10. Thanks for the heads up, that's the kind of info I was looking for. All the 3-gun around Bryan and Houston does not have much running or long range. I guess I am in for an education. See you Saturday... FredQ
  11. This shoot will be my first at Tac Pro, any comments about their shoots and facilities? Thanks FredQ
  12. I emailed FNHUSA and they responded that the FN SLP is manufactured in Portugal and the USA if that helps this discussion. I do have a SX2 barrel for mine and it says made in Belgium on the barrel. FredQ
  13. Howdy, Can anyone confirm that this shoot will take place, weather permitting. I have to drive 5+ hours and don't need to waste a trip. I have emailed the point of contact but no reply yet. Does the club post the round count or the stages on the website? Thanks FredQ
