  3. We spent all day Friday opening up two new shooting areas, Mount Baldy and Hoser's Swamp. Here's a video of our efforts on Mount Baldy and check out those vistas, tallest hill in the county. You can shoot miles in many directions but we will only have long targets out at 500 and 625 yards at this match. Hoser's Swamp is a new jungle run that ends on a hill overlooking a large swamp (dry now) with rifle targets from 50 to 270 yards. Target count is approx. 65 rifle, 40 pistol, 40 shot and 2 slugs. Rifle targets are from 100 to 625 yards. The target count is not a good indicator of how much shooting you will do to finish each stage, bring plenty of ammo... FredQ

  11. Howdy, This month (October 22nd & 23rd) at CCC Shooters we have 4 stages and thanks to the great feedback we have been getting we have increased the target count per stage... Approx. Target count this month is 50 Rifle, 57 Pistol, 66 Shot & 2 slugs. Long Range and Jungle Run Pistol targets can eat up a lot of ammo so bring plenty. We are a unique facility, featuring long range targets and natural terrain, typically you will get to shoot from 50 to 500 yards at our monthly 3-gun matches. We also stress the need for shooting proficiency and our rules require you hit each target before progressing to the next. We want everyone to have a good shooting experience and will try our best to give shooters a fair chance and minimize timeouts. Bring your big boy bullets for a better time here... As usual, you will not have to setup or tear down, I will ask you to help reset, paint and pick up shotgun hulls to keep things running. The RO's will paint all long range targets for each squad and iron sight shooters will be allowed to shoot first in their squad. Price will be $40, $10 goes to the gun give-a-way, the more times you shoot the more tickets you will have in the drawing. Please no CHECKS... If you are an experienced RO/SO and would like to participate you will get to shoot the match for the $10 gun fund fee. The match is a one (1) day match that will run both Saturday and Sunday, you can shoot one day or both. Sign in time is 8:00am at Fred's Tree, safety brief and squad alignment at 8:45, hammer down at 9:00. I make no promises as to when we will finish but we typically finish around 2:00 pm. but could run later depending on shooter count... We have natural shade on all 4 stages this month. You can drive to all stages with your POV or you can bring carts and 4 wheelers. For the third month in a row we have opened a NEW range. This one is a new Jungle Run. A shotgun/pistol stage that has targets on both the left and right of the run and is much faster and safer to run through... All Stages have par times that will be determined before the match based on conditions. Scoring will be via my iPhone app and will be time plus scoring. 5 sec for FTN and 10 sec for FTE. Results are live via Qr codes available at each stage. If you have a smart phone download a QR code reader so you can participate, if you don't know what a smart phone or QR Code is just ask the RO's and they will help you out. Stage 1 - Fred's Tree - all 3 guns. pistol & rifle cruiser ready, holstered and slung, start with shotgun fully loaded. At buzzer move toward vehicle shooting targets as they become visible, be careful, there are a number of targets around the vehicle so don't shot the car. Finish the shotgun targets behind the vehicle then load slugs and engage the slug targets at 50 and 80 yards. Place your safe shotgun on trunk. Draw handgun and engage 5 targets from over trunk. Move to drivers side window and engage 5 targets through windows. Move to front of car and engage 5 targets across the hood. Ground pistol in bucket and proceed to barricade. From on top of barricade engage the 6 targets between 150 and 200 yards then engage 4 targets at 300, 350, 400 and 480 yards from either the barricade or from prone position. Round count 21 shot, 2 slugs, 15 pistol and 10 rifle. Stage 2 - Rifleman's Ridge - Rifle only. Start with rifle hot, you are seated in the crows nest chair. At the buzzer, engage 4 target from 80 to 300 yards using the the crows nest railing for support. While moving to position #2 engage all close targets as they become visible. At position #2 engage 3 targets out to 300 yards. Move to position #3, engage any close range targets as they become visible. At #3 engage 3 targets at long range. Move to position #4, engage any close range targets as they become visible. At #4 engage 3 targets at long range. Move to final position #5, engage any close range targets as they become visible. From #5 engage 3 targets. Round count 19 rifle. Rifle targets range from 30 to 400+ yards. Stage 3 - The Killing Fields - all 3 guns. Starting with shotgun loaded, pistol & rifle cruiser ready, holstered and slung. Standing at the table, at the buzzer, engage all shotgun targets (20 clays). Ground shotgun on table, draw pistol and engage the plate rack (6) and bowling pins (6). Ground pistol on table and cross road to rifle prone position. Engage 20 targets left to right , near to far. Then engage the 600 yard target. Round count, 21 rifle, 20 shot, & 12 pistol. Rifle targets range from 90 to 600 yards. Stage 4 -- Jungle Run -- Blind Stage, No Walk Throughs! Shotgun & Pistol. You will be presented with various poppers and plates through the run. Poppers are shotgun and plates are pistol. The MGM Spinner will be engage from inside the box, first with your shotgun and it must flip to score. When it has flipped ground shotgun in barrel, draw pistol and flip it again. You do not have to wait for the spinner to totally stop to engage with pistol but it must not be in full rotation mode. Round count ~ 25 shot and all you can carry for the pistol... I reserve the right to change any of the stages, round counts and par times for this match prior to the start time, due to local conditions . FredQ Range Manager CCCShooters.com

  13. Final scores are posted. Thanks to all the shooters this weekend. Great weather on Saturday but warm and very windy Sunday but that did not prevent some great scores today. Congrats to Trip, Preston and Ken for the top three finish. We had a great time, nice meeting the new shooters. Feedback helps us provide a better shooting experience so bring it on. FredQ
  14. The scores are posted for the Sept. match at cccshooters.com for day 1 of our 2 day format. Thanks to everyone that came out for the Saturday match. We will shoot the same match Sunday and the weather should be great then also. FredQ
  15. The stages for the September 24th & 25th 3-gun match at CCCShooters are available at this link... September 3-gun at CCC We have opened another new range and I hope you find it fun and challenging. Weather should be great this weekend, cool and less dusty. If you never get the chance to shoot long range and think you would like to shoot our match, I would be glad to give you the opportunity to experience some long range shooting before the match if you will PM me with your name and phone number. FredQ
  16. Timawa, we have been getting more shooters on Sunday the last 2 matches. Since you are local, PM me and I will arrange for you to get some 400+ yard shooting under your belt before the match. You will have fun either way... FredQ
  17. Yes, on September 24th & 25th. Weather should be great... Match announcement will be posted here and on cccshooters.com this week. FredQ
  18. This match should have been called the "Hotter than Hell Open", 108 Saturday and a solid 109 today. A big thanks to the 18 shooters that braved the heat and joined us for some great "Run & Gun" 3-gun action, of the long range variety... Scores are posted at CCCshooters.com Lets hope the weather will be cooler next month. FredQ
  19. Got the new MGM Spinner Target yesterday and set it up today. It's a blast to shoot... You can spin it in 4 shots with .223 if you hit it right. This will be a great target for 3-gun, rifle, pistol or shotgun and will be a challenge with precision rifle out at 400 yards. Remember to bring a sling for your rifle for this match. FredQ

  21. I would like to personally thank everyone that came to our first monthly match at CCCShooters. We had 25 shooters and I enjoyed each and everyone of you guys, a true bunch of professionals. Thanks for enduring the beta test of my new scoring system, I thought it went well and received nothing but positive comments about it. The weather was hot but the shade we have at CCC helped greatly, I saw no one with any signs of over heating. We finished the match at 2:15pm. Scores have been already posted in this thread but I have them on the website under the July Match menu at cccshooters.com. My vision for our matches is to create a match that requires shooting and gun handling skills, a moderate amount of physical endurance while making it tough to GAME. We have a unique range and we want to have matches that test your skill as a marksman not as a strategist... I look forward to see you all next month and will accept any suggestions and comments about the match and scoring system. Thanks, FredQ Match Director CCCShooters

  23. I guess Jim needs 2 of the "No Whining" bumper stickers... FredQ
  24. This still happening? Maybe they'll bring one of the new Vinci's along? The 24" barrel and pistol grip? I sent an email to the contact person that I met with about the Benelli Demo and it was returned as un-deliverable. I will check with the local gun shop about his status and see if I can get hold of the current rep. I did hear rumors about Benelli firing the firm that did its marketing, that may have an impact. FredQ
  25. OK, I see how it works.... Bob gets credit for all my targets when everthing is GREAT, but I get the bitchen when something goes bad. I check the star before, during and after the match, it was mechanically perfect. You will have to look hard to find a star as large as this one and it is tough, takes a lot of choke or big boy shells to knock them off with authority. I notice that the angle iron protectors were really shot up meaning that most shooters hit where the plates attach. You need to hit the plate square or on the outer edge at the distance I had it setup. Plus, a low prone position just makes it harder... I appreciate all you shooters showing up and all the shooters I visited with had a great time, I saw more that one wide grin coming off the Jungle Run. I really appreciate all the attention you guys paid to my targets. My intent was to get you a little taste of the facility and what you might see at the LaRue shoot.
