  1. Thanks to all the shooters that came to the match this weekend and for all the hard work keeping the shoot going smooth. Scores are posted at ccc3g.com See you all next month. FredQ
  2. Finally caught a break, the big storm last night dumped 5"+ in College Station area but we got very little, less than an inch. I worked in the stages yesterday and had no problem driving or walking the course. The 4 stages can be shot either Saturday or Sunday, target count is... Rifle = 60 targets from 70 to 350 yards, all steel including an MGM Spinner at 70 yards. Pistol = 46 targets, all steel. Shotgun = 78 birdshot, no slugs or buckshot, steel and clays. This match is very different than our regular matches that normally focus on rifle and longrange. 3 of the stages are close range, many transitions and numerous shooting positions. Expect to shoot offhand on some of the rifle stages All 4 stages are all 3 guns, slings required for rifle only. Stage 1, 16 rifle, 10 shotgun and 16 pistol shot around a pair of barricades. Max distance is 70 yd. Stage 2, 8 rifle, 20 shotgun and 12 pistol, lots of movement shooting through props of various types. Max 70 yd. Stage 3, 27 rifle, 16 shotgun and 10 pistol. This will be our only longrange stage with targets from 70 to 350 yd. Stage4, 32 shotgun, 8 pistol and 1 MGM Spinner with rifle. Sign-up at 8:30am at Fred's Tree, hammer down at 9:00 If you have a timer please bring it, some of ours were damaged in the storms. Par times will be posted for each stage day of the match depending on conditions. This match will be a great warm-up for the LaRue. See you this weekend, FredQ ccc3g.com
  3. Preston, glad to hear that you got the glock running. Bring lots of bullets. Spent 6 hours on tractor today, got enough of the jungle knocked down to have some good shooting areas. Still some wet areas in places. Tomorrow I have to inventory targets to see how many we lost to the flood and tall grass. Stages will start going together tomorrow so I should have round count by thursday. I will need your expert help RO'n the match Sunday if you could. Thanks FredQ
  4. Real messy. Moving the match to next weekend, March 31 - April 1. We got over 4" that day. FredQ
  5. Click on the calendar event link for match info. Times are always at top of page that opens. No stages posted yet, big rain expected next couple of days. Well have to see what happends after the weather impact. FredQ
  6. If you need one of the JP Silent Captured Spring assy for AR-15 or AR-10 look here JP Springs He has 8 AR-15 and 10 AR-10 models in stock. Most places I checked are back ordered... I just bought one here to install in one of our lady shooters AR, she was having trouble pulling the charging handle with the old setup but is just fine with the new JP Spring. FredQ
  7. Thank you Jesse, our 3-gun website is ccc3g.com if you need that. FredQ
  8. Due to wet conditions we can not get the fields mowed so we are canceling the He-Man match tomorrow Sunday Mar 18th. I'm sure we will dry out this week and can get the 18" of grass mowed and have our 4th weekend 3-gun match. Sorry for the late notice. FredQ Cawthon Cartridge Club
  9. The match this weekend (18th & 19th) has been canceled due to rain. We got 4" today and after the 10" we got last week our road construction came to a stand still and there is more rain forecast for Friday and Saturday. Things are a mess with loads of gravel and water standing and we can't get the equipment in to finish the job. Sorry for delaying the notice but I was hoping to get the new roads done in time, Mother Nature had other ideas. Our normal 4th weekend match was moved to this weekend due to a fund raiser 3-gun match to be held on the 25th. This is not an open match so it looks like we will be looking to March for our next 3-gun matches. Sorry about the delay... FredQ
  10. Beautiful weather and a great bunch of shooters made for a perfect weekend... Thanks a bunch to Trapr and Stuart for making the long drive from San Antonio, we really enjoyed having you here. Thanks to all the regular shooters that showed up to shoot and help with all the chores... We were big on rifle this month, (well we are usually big on rifle), but this month we had close to 100 rifle targets making it our largest target count to date. Next month we plan on 6 stages instead of 5 and one of the stages will be a shotgun only stage with 20-25 slugs and a few bird shot to mix things up. Mount Baldy, our newest rifle heavy stage was a big hit. 22 targets spread out over a large flat, shot from the arena on top of Mount Baldy. The shooting arena brought out some creative shooting positions and many of them were very effective. It was a blast watching Trapr shoot his Heavy Iron gun from up there. Thanks for all the kind words about the range and the shoot. Scores are posted at CCC3G Hope to see you all back next month. FredQ
  11. Tornadoes to the left of us, tornadoes to the right of us, but we were spared. Drove the range today and it looked fine. A little water in the usual places but by the weekend all will be fine. It will be cool with a little north wind but should have plenty of sun. FredQ
  12. I have updated the match and stage information page, please read it here. Also, I added a location map to the club here Slings are required on the rifle. Single point slings do not work well do to the movement here. Landshark45 are you coming this weekend? I expected to see you this past weekend. Look forward to seeing everyone at the match. FredQ
  13. Heavy metal scores are posted at ccc3g Thanks to all the He-Men that participated. FredQ
  14. You should be able to get through with 10 clips, just reload between stages, you'll have plenty of time. Dave, I've seen you shoot and 80 rounds will be more than enough to finish any of the stages or time out I did add a few more rifle steels tonight, moved a few and added the rest of the pistol and shotgun targets to the stages. I will update the stage totals tomorrow after I test the stages. Weather will be great this weekend and every thing is greened up... FredQ
  15. CCC 3-Gun matches for January 2012 will be on the 22nd, Heavy Metal, and the 28th and 29th for the regular 3-gun. We have a dedicated 3-Gun website where all 3-Gun related information and scores will be posted. ccc3g.com On the main menu, click on Event Calendar and then the date of your choice for match & stage info. Thanks FredQ
  16. The handgun we will give away Sunday arrived today. Some lucky shooter will go home with a new Glock 34. You do not need to be present to win this handgun but you will have to do the normal ffl paperwork so you will have to come get it at some point, might as well be Sunday so you can have some fun, eat some free BBQ and win some money and other prizes. FredQ

  19. On Sunday Dec. 18, CCC Shooters 3-Gun club will have our End of Year Party and prize give-a-way. If you've shot in one or more of our 4th weekend 3-gun matches you're invited to participate in this event. At 0900 we will start the fun shoot activities that will include a man vs man 3-gun nation type shoot off stage, a AK balloon shoot (we supply the guns and ammo), a quick draw balloon contest, hi-speed long range rifle match and many other contest to test your shooting skills. Bring all your guns and gear and lots of ammo as we will use all 3 guns in some of the games... All fun shoot stages will be money shoots with each contestant buying in for $10. Reserve my Spot! After the drawing you're invited to use any of the facilities for practice or training up to 4:00pm. Look forward to seeing you Sunday. FredQ
  20. Wind was the worst we have ever had at this range, gust to 50 mph a couple of times. Hard to keep poppers and shotgun targets up. But everyone endured and seemed to enjoy the challange. Scores are posted here Thanks for all the help today. FredQ
  21. MATCH ON! After raining all morning the range has dried up real well. I walked all the courses this evening around 4:30 and they are all in good shape. Parking areas are solid, no mud just damp sand. The wind will continue to dry the area over night. The wind will be an issue for the long range targets. Tonight the wind was blowing 20 gusting to 25 and coming straight from the 625 yard target but 9:00 to the 500 yard plate. Tomorrow will likely be the same... Registration will be at the club house starting at 8:00am. When you cross the wooden bridge turn left and park past the building in the field. FredQ
  22. Just started light rain at 5:00am. Front will pass by 9:00. I will be at the range but if you can wait till tomorrow to shoot it will be better weather then. It I will be ready for anyone that shows today. Rain forecast is .25 in if that's true we can deal with FredQ
  23. I've been watching the weather front in west Texas and it looks like it will be mid day tomorrow when it hits here. I am going forward with the shoot for tomorrow. Sunday will be clear and cool but windy. All the targets have been painted and checked tonight so its up to Mother Nature now... If anything changes I will post around 5:00am with update. FredQ
  24. The November 3-gun match at CCC Shooters will be Nov. 26 & 27, 2011. This is a one day match that you can shoot one day or both. Our facility is geared for movement and long range shooting and we use those assets in our 3-gun stages. If you want to train-up for the big shoots this will be a great place to test yourself physically and find out how you can handle targets out to 600+ yards. Stages are posted on our website at CCC Shooters FredQ
