Fred's Tree will be much kinder for the long range shooter this match. 4. A Big Thank You to all that braved the heat and winds, and a special thanks to the Corpus and Conroe boys, good to see you again. This was the toughest match we have thrown to date. Lots of positional rifle shooting, movement, high target counts, long range and the winds made it extra rough. The mega shotgun stage was a blast as it got even the best shotgunners out of there comfort zone.. Our new Rifle only Jungle Run got a lot of great reviews, this is a real run and gun in the woods long range rifle stage. David Venables shot fantastic on all 5 stages, his 218 on stage 1 was top score. Only 2 shooters made it with in the par time of 300 as the wind played heck with the shooters. The scores are posted Here See you next month, for a cooler match I hope.... FredQ

  6. Sorry for the late notice this month, we had a TV commercial being shot here with a chopper and mini gun tearing up some junk cars and other stuff. Created a mess to clean up delaying my 3-gun setup. We will have 5 stages this month, a BIG shotgun stage in the center bay called " The Ring of Fire", a no BS, no running, stand and deliver on 54 targets (40 birdshot, 10 buckshot, 3 slugs and the spinner shot with bird shot).. Fred's Tree will be rifle/pistol where you will attack a motorcade from various shooting positions, targets out to 400+... Rifleman's ridge has been expanded an additional 100 yards of shooting course, This will be all offhand and supported shooting out to 250 yards. Mt Baldy will be looooong targets shot from arena. Shooting will be supported standing, kneeling and prone out to 500 yards, no bonus this month the 500 is on the clock. Jungle Run will be pistol only, we have added 3 additional plate racks so the round count will be higher than last month All Stages will have ample par times like last month, most in the 300 to 360 sec range. I will post the final round count tomorrow as I still have targets to relocate and brush to cut down. Sign up at 0830, hammer down at 0900. Shoot either day or both if you feel tough.. We have shade on all the stages but bring water. If you liked last months shoot you will love this one... See you at the match, FredQ
  7. Great vids Roger. I'm always amazed that a guy your size can run so smooth and swift. Great shooting also. FredQ
  8. Great Shooting guys, it was our best weekend ever, Thanks a lot for enduring the heat and long runs on the stages, we had 1040 seconds of par time on 4 stages. The stages were designed to give a good warmup for those going to RM3G and everyone loved them. It was a battle of the Titans, Lance Dingler in Tac Optic battling Trip McIngval in Limited (1x optic). Both shooters shot fantastic, turning in great times on the shotgun only mega stage with only about a second between them. On the pistol only jungle run Trip shot a blazing 49.72 followed by Lance with a 55.74. The rifle is where Lance pulled ahead with a great time plus a 20 sec bonus on rifleman's ridge stage. Trip also had a great run on this stage and nailed the 30 sec first shot bonus on the 500yd target with his 1x optic. On the Fred's tree stage Lance once again edged out Trip by a first shot hit on the 440yd target. Trip shot his 1x optic like a real champ, giving up very little to the Tac Optic or Open shooters beating all but Lance in all divisions. I pity the other 1x optic shooters at RM3G this year... Scores can be seen here See you all next month, FredQ
  9. Bring your youtube video camera, today you missed me freaking out when I drove over a 3' long copperhead while following the shooter, I started screaming for the guy to get out of the way, the shooter ran and people were jumping. Turned out that the snake was dead. I had not seen it on other runs so everyone got a laugh out of that... 16 shooters today. Par times are BIG, 300 and 360 sec stages with 180 and 200 on the other 2. Shotgun stage had a DQ due to shooting a popper with a slug, Poor Elizabeth.... See you all tomorrow. Bring your "A" Game, we had some great times today. FredQ
  10. The spinner is close so 6's is max... FredQ
  11. Slings are always required on at least one stage so come prepared. No shotgun slings ever. Slugs on the shotgun stage. Bonus target at 500 yd and lots of steel. Those that have seen the stages say that they are the best stages ever... Just spent close to $2k for mowing so the place looks better the ever... Hope to see you all this weekend... FredQ

  13. Great Match this weekend. Had a mini Super Squad on Sunday, Trip McIngvale, Lance Dingler and Jason Tielke along with our local top shooters made for an interesting shootout, The weather was great, very little wind for the long range stages, hot but not unbearable due to our heavily shaded stages. Scores are posted here Thanks for shooting with us this weekend. Next month I will have some great stages to prepare you for the RM3G match. No one has a better range to train for the RM3G, come check it out. See ya next time... FredQ

  15. CCC 3-gun will be June 23rd & 24th, shoot either day or both. There is some good news this month, the floods we had back in January have finally dried up enough to use the long rifle area again. I have 3 stages using this area so plan on some positional rifle shooting out to 500yds this month. 4 stages total with 1 stage using all 3 guns the others using 2 guns each. We have lots of natrual terrain and we will introduce you to much of it this month... Lots of close and long pistol on 3 of the stages and the jungle run with shotgun clays, one slug target and rifle shot offhand to end it. I have a few changes to do to the stages we setup this weekend so the final round count will be posted in a few days. Same as always, signup at 0830, hammer down at 0900. Cost $40 with $10 going into the gun fund for the end of year party. Rules can be found at ccc3g See ya at the match FredQ

  19. Our monthly 3-gun match will be Sunday 27 May. After a week of dozer work we now have 6 large shooting bays and I will utilize some for the match this weekend as well as the usual long range courses and jungle run. Expect rifle to 500yd, pistol to 50yd and shotgun on the jungle run. Round count to follow. FredQ
  20. Due to a large construction project (6 new pistol bays) we will not have a heavy metal match on May 20th. Our regular 3-gun match will be May 27th. Thanks FredQ
  21. I figured snakes would be a birdshot target... It was for the first shot but Roger had just run the course and only had one shell left, did you notice the shotgun on the ground? He tossed it down and transitioned to his pistol to finish the deed. Good Job! We killed 3 copperheads in that jungle run since Friday. One was a Boone & Crockett size about 4' long and 3" thick, biggest I've ever seen. That area had grown up big time since all the rain and it was perfect snake country. But the skid steer cleaned it up really well. The snakes will get the hint and find someplace else to hang out. The only good snake is a dead snake... FredQ
  22. Thanks to all the shooters that came on such short notice to this match. Scores are posted at ccc3g.com To those wondering about the short notice I will offer an explanation... We have a bi-annual contract with the cattle operation that they will mow the entire 800+ acres 2 times each year. They gave us notice 2 weeks ago that they would mow this past week. We spent 2 days removing all the steel and props, BIG job... The mowers never showed up so I got a group of volunteers to help get everything setup on Saturday, we did not finish untill after 6:00pm. When I got home at 7:00 I posted that the match was on. We did our best to make the best of the situation and everyone that came to the match had a good time. I appreciate all the hard work from Bob & Elizabeth Pool, Calder Lively and Charles Morris for helping me get things back in operation. Thanks to Preston Clark and Calder Lively for ROing the match. Hopefully we will be back to normal next month. We got another 6 tons of AR500 steel in the last month and have been putting together some new targets for your enjoyment. Come check it out at the next match. FredQ
  23. CCC April 3-Gun match is tomorrow Sunday 29 April. We have 4 stages with 102 total targets, expect pistol to 60 yards, slugs to 60 yards, buckshot to 40 yds and rifle to 400 yds. There are 12 rifle targets with a difficulty factor of 8 on a scale of 1 - 10, ranges are a MGM spinner at 100 yd and 11 plates out to 400 yd, bring at least 100 rounds Pistol - shots from 10 to 60 yds.
