  1. I throw a couple squirts of the dillon lube and a couple blasts of OneShot in my case feeder when I load it up. I'm also running through the dillon die first in station 1 of the 650 (to size and decap) then through the Udie in station 2. Not sure if the 550 has enough stations to accomodate this. I figure progressively resizing the brass is better. Although I could be work hardening it more...not sure. This method has been working well for me though - in both 9 and 40.

  2. I got a propane can adaptor that has a little resivoir to put a drop of silicone in. Seems to work fine. When I got my first airsoft I had a can of green gas - it was expensive and when it ran out I switched to propane.

  3. Are you using some kind of translator program?

MITCH it tells me you are a follower by mimicking what others say..

I feel that the gun bussiness gets "Drive By Effect"bad press when shooters follow the others and shoot to see lead in the air or the rambo effect with the AR's.

Being a family clubb, I see the strain on the mothers with children faces when the rapid bang-bang starts up.These mothers & dads are safety first gun owners that want to past down guns to their children.

One reasonable thought on "Lead in The AIR" mentality might be how poorly the remanufactured $17/$20 per box 50 Shoot ....The ones I tested are not worth that.

    I don't get it. Nevermind, I won't bother.

  4. Are you using some kind of translator program? I know on one of the other forums I was on, someone who was not a native English speaker was using a translator program which ended up confusing a whole bunch of people. Finally when another member from his country of origin was able to understand this and step in, they were able to articulate the members questions and responses much better.

  5. Long story, but I just bought a bicycle off a person on Craigslist. Turns out he just graduated from highschool, living at home, working two jobs, and is very excited about heading off to join the Navy to hopefully make it into SpecWar and become a Seal or EOD diver one day.

He sounds like he's working his ass off to pay off all his bills before he goes into basic. I think that's pretty damn admirable (1) that he wants to serve our country and protect our freedom and (2) that at 18 years old he's acting like a responsible adult, which is pretty uncommon for a lot of people these days.

For someone about to go off to basic training for the Navy, what's something I can get him that will actually be useful during basic or in his first few months/years? I'd appreciate the inputs from folks who've been there. What did you wish you had?

    Thanks,

  6. I've been happy with my 9Major that JPL built. I start with known once fired brass. When I'm at a match picking up my brass and other mixed brass, I put that aside and keep that brass for loading 9mm in minor loads. When I was shooting 10mm in an indoor plate league I had lots of anxiety to make sure I got all my valuable brass. With USPSA I wouldn't want to have those same worries (with 38S or SC for example). If it's muddy, sandy, or I just don't feel like picking up my brass I don't "need" to since it's just 9x19.

  7. With my EAA Witness Limited, I would have a problem shooting factory rounds. THe difference between my reloads and the factory rounds was pretty large in COL (1.19 vs 1.13). When I would shoot shorter rounds, the spent case would eject and as the slide came back the top round in the mag would pop out, and next round in line would come up and be picked up my the slide and extractor. It was the weirdest thing to watch (had some friends shoot it as well, with the same phenomenon). It sounds like you've fixed your issue with cleaning the mags, but if you're loading your rounds short, you might try lengthening them.

  8. This weekend I drove 800 miles to do a 2 day match for the Northwest Section Championship. (800 miles of driving in a 48 hour span is a lot for this kid from Hawaii). On Saturday of the match I had a lot of mental errors. Ran past a target on a jungle run, left a steel standing - totally avoidable but I was getting ahead of myself. I just have to remind myself that I'm out to have a good time shooting and hanging with my friends. Scores are just a result of being at the match. The sucess metric that I'm trying to go by is fun-factor. If I'm not having fun, I may as well have stayed home.

Last stage, last array of that match, I finally relaxed and was able to shoot at a smooth cadence. Better late than never. Just gotta get my head there sooner :)

  9. If someone shoots 20 rounds at one target at 25 yards there should be only one medium sized hole. If you're shooting some kind of bulleye match, maybe it matters, but I haven't had any accuracy with out of the box Springfields and a Dan Wesson.

To which Springfield model are you referring to? Doesn't Rob L. shoot production Springfields and win?

What I mean specifically is that I've not picked up a factory gun that I really felt wasn't good enough for USPSA - they're all accurate enough. One doesn't need a bullseye. If one is a newbie they could shoot a Glock, XD, XDm. Anything will work just fine for many years - it's all about the thing making the gun go bang - the shooter.

  10. That's exactly what I do plus I also put them in a small bowl/jar and pour a little cold blue on them. Roll them around and then they look quite different than hot rounds.

That's an excellent idea! I tried painting some with Brownell's baking laquer but it chipped. I like the idea of the cold blue!

  11. I have 3 170mm, and 3 140mm for Open. Recently in the Columbia Cascade section most of the COF are between 21-24 rounds. Even though I can fit 29 in a big stick, I usually just go with 28 rounds. Plenty enough, never even drop the mag in the dirt. On stages with low round count and manditory reloads I use the 140mm sticks. I figure for most situations, having 3 big ones allows me to load for 3 stages ahead in case I need to RO or take paper and don't get to loading mags for a stage or two.
