  1. The Vortex with the JM reticle is probably the easiest, most intrinsically easy reticle to use. Zero it at 200 yards and the BDC is basically right on within an inch or two out to 600 yards with most loads used in 3-gun. The clarity is second to none and it is built tank strong. With a lifetime warranty that rivals Dillon's you can't go wrong. Clarity is worth a few X in my book!

  2. My old M1 Benelli is starting to do this. It has nothing to do with the spring, nor "over porting" but after 300,072 rounds, the "centering strike plates" have worn away allowing a bit of shell wobble. Doesn't do it under recoil because of "shell surge" taking most of the pressure off the shell stop, but trying to drop one on the carrier is problematic, so I just port load it. Might get in there and TIG up the strike plate, but meh, it is still running. I'll bet you got abit to far on one side or the other....or up and down.

  3. Stage 9 had 6 of 12 6" plates at 220 yards, just a bit smaller than the 4 m.o.a. and real hard to see on 1x for the constraints of the stage, if they had all been in the 8-10" plate range, everyone could have had a far better presentations. I agree with Mark about "sniper shotgun". Outside of these two very minor things it was great! I absolutely loved stage 11..... for the first two runs anyway : lol:

As always a great match at a great range with outstanding personnel!!!!

  4. Several hand soaps I have tried leave my hands too dry making it very hard to hold shotgun shells.....I like to call it dry slick! I have tried moisturizing soaps and they seem to have an oily residue that is almost as bad as "dry slick". What is the best 3-gun hand soap that leaves your hands not too dry, but not soaking in grease? What soap do the pros recommend? What are some of the personal hygiene products that you see on the pro's shirts? Anything will help, thanks

  5. Rear sights? It's a shotgun, it doesn't need a rear sight!! Your eye is the rear sight! Just mount it the same each time!......I could go on with the crap I have heard about this, but my shotgun has had a flip up 10-22 rear sight since 1995

  6. The "rubbing" you feel is natural with the hammer.and carrier spring latch dragging on the bolt. The carrier/ lifter is dragging on something, or the carrier dog.....little dog ear thing on the left side.... is not tuned, and is dragging. The jam you describe of the shell sticking on the ejector cut is indicative of this.

  7. I, like Mark, have a TiN firing pin I dropped in around 2003. It is still going strong after all these years. It is in my practice rifle so I really only have a loose idea of how many rounds, but it is on it's 4 th barrel.

Riddle me this, why does a TiN pin last forever in a 2011, but all sorts of folks say they wear out in a couple of hundred rounds in an AR??? Preposterous!!!! They way out last several barrels!!!

  8. First my absolute admiration for Pat for saying CARBINE!!!! :)

Yes it is separate there is a gas block behind the sight, no tube to the front sight. Now I wonder where anyone came up with that idea?

To get the most sight radius, cut an extra slot in the picatinny rail at the back to allow the rear sight to mount flush with the back of the receiver. You gain almost another inch by doing so.
