So who tuned your carrier latch?

Mods....I posted this under shotgun technical, but my Mobil device thought it belonged here. E
Please move to Shotgun Technical.

So okay, since Nationals this year I have had a intermittent failure to drop a shell on to the lifter either when pushing up the shell latch catch ( little tab be the trigger guard) or a couple of times while shooting. Come to think of it, it did it once at the LAMR at World Shoot. So got tired of it today and speced it out. It was the shell cut off lever. Over the years it has worn down about 15 thousandths, it also has a divit in it from the shell latch catch. You will notice that this is a very early style shell cut off with NO little notches cut into the body. It only lasted a scant 300, 733 rounds so be ware! This part is a wear item!!!

All part of the extensive knowledge of the Benelli system at your finger tips! RNT baby!!!!

It is an over travel device that TTI uses to limit trigger over travel. It goes around the pin that goes through the back of the trigger housing where the little square cut out at the back of the trigger rides. It is kind of a bitch to install, but that is where it goes.

This match had all the 3-Gun Nation style shooters griping about how Comstock scoring takes all the fun away because you have to aim, it had USPSA 3-Gunners griping because the hit factor on most stages was so low, (all stages came directly from match booklets from either the Nordic Rifle Championships, or the European Rifle Championships.). It had everyone griping because they didn't get the subtle differences between real IPSC and the stuff they shoot in the US. So I would rate it a complete success!!!
. Yes we will be repeating it next year. Scored paper out to 300 yards with no support. Very little prone shooting available, lots of off hand and weak shoulder stuff, not too much hosing. Its a rifle after all and being able to hit stuff is what it is about.

I do a pretty good impression of Richard Nickson and a passable William Clinton. They don't make the trigger better, but it usually leaves them laughing.

If I were to use a live round would I receive total enlightenment?

I've heard of a bunch of guys who bend the heck out of the barrel. There are a bunch of videos on how to do it. This is especially effective for Benelli shotguns, but might just be the ticket for Mosberg as well.

Yes you can. I have done it for a lower that had the small pins wallowed out. Drilled it bigger so the colt large pins were a very tight fit and all was well.

Darn it Mark!!! You take great sarcastic post and make it a great learning experience. I like you trust in U.S. and Japan, but never knew about the MAH thing. Great info buddy!

Of course I do Pat! Not that big a thing, it just surprised me is all.
To clarify, I make the tab for Benellis. I have never said they cure anything on any other gun. I do know that they work well on several other guns with a bit of modification and some they just drop right on, but that is all up to the end user. I make them for Benellis.
As to the joust, I was aware of the problem that Tim talked about, and I have seen a couple of guys at matches have exactly that happen and light into cussing people of Italian and Turkish heritage.... or at least their engineering prowess (that is how I know the tab can be made to work on 1301s and Stoegers.), but I am sure that it is rare.

Gee Pat, I didn't know that you held such animosity for my RNT closer tab. Is it just too cheap for what it does? Not cool enough? Lacks the amount of bling you require? Too easy to install? Doesn't work the way it is supposed to? Instead of just a quick little smear at the end of you jousting with Tim, why don't you just come out and tell us all why the RNT closer tab is such a bad product. Enquiring minds want to know!

I am real sure that at least one of them still does load weak hand......old school? This here quads, twins...etc. only started around 4 years ago.

"Those folks were"????.......or maybe are? Most of "those folks" ain't dead yet!!!

See you were far ahead of your time......relativly speaking of course.

Observation time yet again. You are all calling a 16" barreled 9mm a carbine, yet you turn right around and call that very same barrel length a rifle when it is in .223. As for bringing it into 3-gun, nothing is stopping anyone from shooting a big 3-gun match with one as it stands right now.

Because of global warming......it warps the mounts! We can stop this if we can only stop all development of the human race! Feel the Bern!!!
Or your eyes are changing, or the ammo is different, or the sun is in a different part of the sky....... or as I like to say "there is magic in optics that I don't understand, therefore they are evil". God loves drunks, 3-gunners, and Iron sight shooters!...... hey I finally qualify for all 3
-
I haven't encountered any of the problems RAZZ has mentioned. I shoot mainly iron sights so I am real picky about true 1X and clarity. The MRO has met all my criteria for a great sight and I run mine as far forward on the receiver as I can. It is a great sight!!

A hem.....Pat.....a 1911 IS in 45 ACP, no other choice. Now when you start adding the A1 designation you have to be caliber specific as well, and believe it or not, many 1911-A1 pistols require a battery. Think of our hosts 38 super in the mid 80s.
Now if you mean like a Naval battery where a turret had 3 Naval rifles (bigger perhaps than we are talking about here, but I will grant you poetic license) I have a battery of M1A/M-14s and a spare or two.
-
Now that so many scope/dots/gopros....etc. need batteries, which are the best ones? The cheap GI brand found on line, Renato, Panasonic, Energizers, Duracell?? All of them claim to be the best.....but what IS the best? I am in an absolute dither over the overwhelming amount of choices
Can anyone help? What are the batteries of the pros???!!!

Not a range toy, but I am using my 458 SOCOM for just about everything except matches. It has become my favorite AR!

Your carbine load doesn't make the minor rifle power floor, not that anyone checks.
