  1. Here is mine: SSP MA stage 1: 17.97 stage 2: 8.64 stage 3: 12.53 stage 4: 3.14 Total time 42.28 (4 down)
  2. Thanks guys. I checked again, and this WAS a sanctioned section level III match. I'll send an email to the Section Coordinator later to ask him (have to give him time to recover from putting on such a great match)!
  3. Hi, I am a B shooter and did fairly well at the Florida Sectional match. I won Production B, beat 1 A shooter and 2 out of 3 Master shooters. I won 3 out of 8 stages and was 96.5% from HOA Production. Would this be enough to request a bump to A class or do you think there wasn't enough shooters in the classes above me? I would say that I feel competitive with the A class shooters but just can't get my classifiers together! Thanks, Andy

  5. hammer and brass punch work for me.
  6. Ha! great idea! My friend used black phone wire but I'll give the broom bristles a try! Thanks.
  7. I'd go with a .180 tall front for the 9L. Just a suggestion.
  8. If you like the Sevigney Competition rear on your Glock then why don't you get the same rear sight for the M&P? The POA/POI can be adjusted with different height front sights. I'm running a Sevigney rear and a .100 Dawson FO front and my sight picture looks about like the first pic you attached but a little looser. I don't like the fiber too bright so I painted half of it to dim it down. I have a friend who inserted a black rod to get rid of the FO all together.
  9. I prefer a plain rib and silver bead. I tried a Fiber Optic but found it was drawing too much attention and I was getting away from shooting a shotgun like a shotgun. The ONLY time where I felt I might have preferred actual sights on a shotgun was shooting at a 45 yard slug target, but those are few and far between at our range. A majority of the time the vent rib and bead are faster.
  10. 16" midlength with VTAC rifle length handguard.
  11. While its true there are more people shooting 12 than 20, the manual of arms of the 1187 20 is pretty much the same as the 12 only smaller. If someone can help fix a 12, they should be able to figure out the 20. I believe the same is true with a 20 ga M2 vs a 12 ga M2 (same manual of arms). Parts are another issue. But for the low price that I bought my 1187 for, I could buy another identical gun as a backup and still have a fairly low investment. Maybe you could get your wife an 1100 youth and leave it alone and get yourself one to modify for 3 gun. You'll have your comp gun and your wife will have her own gun which you can use as a backup. I think well worn but reliable 1100s go for around $400, maybe less. Another issue are shells. If you run out you may be screwed as far as borrowing some. I always bring more than enough so if another 20 gauge shooter runs out I can loan some out. We have to stick together!
  12. I'm probably still pickup a Beta or 2, but I'm perfectly happy with my MGW for 3 gunning. It does what a Beta does for less than half the price. When I first started using it, people would mention that they were "surprised" I didn't have any problems. If you were to look at it with its all plastic construction including the feedlips you almost have to wonder. I almost sold mine when I first got it because of just that, but I'm glad I kept it. I don't really hear anymore comments from the peanut gallery, I guess they got tired of waiting for it to fail. Its definately worth a try. If you don't like it you could always sell it and get the Beta.
  13. Define "better". Beta is BETTER quality, better built, smaller profile, better balanced...MGW is entirely plastic, lighter weight and hangs of to the side. That being said, my 90 rounder has never failed me in a 3 gun match while I have seen Betas fail. I've been using it exclusivly for almost a year and load it to about 5o rounds to keep the weight centered. I'm a lefty and the mag hangs off the left side of the rifle so it really doesn't bother me, but it might enterfer with a right handers forward grip (the thing is large). So for what I am using it for and the results I have gotten, the MGW is a BETTER value IMHO. Picked mine up for $80, I think the Beta runs around $250? Its up to you if the Beta is worth the extra coin but the MGW flat out works.
  14. Excellent, I don't really see the need to get a gas block when it will be doing the same thing and I won't even see it (under the handguards). Only thing i can think of why I would get one is if I wanted to put the standard front sight back on.
  15. I am considering cutting down my FSB on my 16" cabine and getting a full length free float tube to get a larger surface area up front. I'm using an EOTech and I don't need a BUS or quad rails, this is just a range gun, just a simple freefloat tube that will fit over the cutdown front sight. I have seen tubes that will fit over a low profile gasblock...is a low profile gas block be any more low profile than a cutdown FSB?
  16. We just started an unoffical Pistol Caliber Carbine Division in IDPA that follows the IDPA rules (as close as possible). Only the second time out and its growing in popularity. Perfect excuse for me to build a 10.5" 9mm AR SBR!
  17. The original pin? You need to grind off one end. That was the easy part. Hard part for me was fitting, grinding/filing off a little at a time and test fitting and figuring out how that leaf spring went back in there. But it works. I had to narrow it for a 20 gauge and I also took about 1/8"= 1/4" off on the overall length.
  18. That sounds like a great solution. How would you suggest to accomplish that? Field and Streams Tip of the day! Make Your Own Plug If your shotgun's magazine doesn't have a plug to prevent it from holding more than two cartridges, you can make one using 1*2-inch-diameter wooden dowel. Measure the length of the magazine. Subtract 6 inches if your barrel is chambered for 23*4-inch shells; 61*2 inches for 3-inch shells; or 71*2 inches for 31*2-inch shells. Cut the dowel to the length of the remainder and sand it smooth. Unscrew the magazine's end cap and place the plug inside the coil spring. http://www.fieldandstream.com/fieldstream/...,194916,00.html You might have to modify the formula some. If your tube holds 8 and you want to limit it to 3 I would measure the length of 5 shells and start with the dowel a little over that.
  19. Why don't you just leave the Choate on and make a plug to limit capacity for hunting?
