  1. Are you gonna shoot that in USPSA??
  2. Wow, truly inspirational... I better get dry-firing if I'm to make Master in 2 years!
  3. WOW! For some reason, the 360 degree live fire range looks the most interesting to me...
  4. AHA! I'm (mostly) left handed too, and it's much harder with my left hand/foot. I throw/shoot right-handed though.
  5. My friend asked USPSA headquarters about this, and it's basically because HK never filled out the paperwork to get it on the list. As a result, he's stuck in L-10 with a stock gun.
  6. Starting at the top and going counter-clockwise.
  7. I seem to have no problem doing it... got it first try!
  8. Saw it today and loved it! I guess I wasn't paying enough attention though -- what was the gun mess up? I saw that Bourne had a Glock near the end, so my guess is the bad guy cocked a striker-fired gun?
  9. ...and I just got a 3.5# trigger job done on my XD because of the possibility of this new rule
  10. Oh... a Glock G35... I clicked the link expecting to find something of the 306 hp Infiniti kind Looks great though!
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Beast at King's Island?
  12. Thanks guys, now to avoid stupid mistakes... on one other stage, I got 6 procedurals for stepping out of a box; on another, I made up 2 A's with a no-shoot >_< The biggest lesson I took away from the match is that I need to trust my sights. I hit the no-shoot on my rushed 3rd shot because I didn't SEE 2 holes on the target, even though my sights indicated that I had hit it both times. Conversely, I did well on the classifier because the paper targets were too far away to easily see the holes on, and I called the hits on the steel and started to transition before I heard the *PING*. I hit the last 2 poppers much faster than I would have expected myself to be able to.
  13. http://www.practicalshooters.com/SPistolStage1Production.htm I knew I had shot it well, but I was totally shocked when I saw the results... it's a big baby step for someone who just started shooting USPSA in March!
  14. Got mine on Tues, ha! Last time mine seemed to come pretty late, but it looks like that was not the case this month!
  15. Happy Birthday and congrats on the win! It's always inspirational to watch top shooters like Julie in action.
  16. Interesting strategy on stage 9... I saw someone skip the door, but not the reverse as you did.
  17. Darn, I knew I should have had my friend take pictures with my SLR that I had in my car... I was running a bit late so I rushed down to the bays without my cell phone and couldn't tell him to grab it. By the way, thanks for the great match! I had a lot of fun shooting with you guys, and I LOVE my shiny new center of mass car safe that I "won" for participating! I'd been thinking about buying one myself and *bam* I won one.
  18. +1 Although, I am a fan of "here are the rules, spend whatever you like" (like it used to be with a united CART), F1 budgets are out of sight. I met a guy locally who works with the teams and asked him what the difference between IRL and F1 was and he said it was the money. Some of those teams will spend on a single race what one IRL team will spend in a season. (un)fortunately, that is going to change next year: possible rule changes for '08. They are really trying to cut costs and increase the amount of passing. And I thought the engine development freeze was lame... I want to see the most technologically advanced piece of machinery, not some crippled one just because some exotic material was banned!
  19. F1 comes close on the same turn: http://www.formula1.com/race/circuitmap/776.html Sure, they "only" go up to 343 km/h (213 mph) on the front straight, but check out the G forces at the end of the back straight -- 5! I'm a lifelong Indiana resident and I still don't believe that the Indy 500 is the "greatest racing spectacle in the world". For starters, the cars look almost the same as they did in the 70's (very square). I was flipping between the Indy 5 and Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, and F1 cars truly blow the IndyCars out of the water... superior power-to-weight ratio, handling, and modern looking aerodynamics. They also have the awesome side-effect of sounding a lot cooler since IndyCars are rev-limited to 10,300 rpm and F1 is 19,000. Honda demonstrated that a completely F1 legal car is capable of over 250 mph last year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjoB_es0t_Y <-- Crazy! Sooo looking forward to the US Grand Prix RAIN OR SHINE at the Indy Speedway in 2 weeks! If you live in Indy BigDave, I'd highly recommend checking it out (that is, if you won't be at the IN Sectional)!
  20. I got an 8-core Mac Pro in my office last Tuesday, and my XD-9 Tactical came back from Springer Precision last Friday with new Dawson sights! I am not fan of Mac OS X by any means, so it's running Gentoo Linux (well, OS X is still there... I just never touch it).
  21. It's located at http://www.uspsa.org/squadding/. However, you'll need a password that you should have received via e-mail to use it. Looks like the subject of that e-mail is "USPSA Squadding System", if you want to try searching your inbox for it. Hope that helps!
  22. Oh great... I am in a 2 person squad with the Master who beat everyone with a single stack this past weekend. I have a feeling that his total time for all the stages combined will be equal to my average stage time.
  23. I was digging though my pictures today and found this: (not my normal grip... I think my thumb was sore or something that day) And no, I didn't have a friend standing in front of me... we had a remote trigger hooked up to my camera
  24. Oops, I should read dates more carefully! I knew about the proposal last year but thought this was something different...
  25. The liberal (no offense to anyone - I consider myself apathetic, and the best way to describe my political views is "I like guns") piece of T.P. censored any reference to the fact that total gun bans lead to more violent crime and that concealed carry lowers it that my original letter made, but at least they printed it! If you saw my D class shooting though, you'd probably think twice about if I should really have a gun on campus though... I am hoping to change that over the summer with lots of practice! http://www.idsnews.com/news/story.aspx?id=43138 which was my reply to http://www.idsnews.com/news/story.aspx?id=42888 ...say what? Oh noes, I am all sorts of suspicious in that case!
