Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'd be curious to know what you go with, as I'm looking for the same thing right now. It would be a bonus if I could use it with a CZ Shadow 2 as well.
  2. So both barrels have been back for a while now and I've shot the Rival a little and Rival-S quite a bit. The Rival-S needed a new extractor spring (CZ spring with one coil but down) to eject reliably and it's still hit or miss on syntech ammo. Mostly runs the syntech 150 ammo, but will occasionally jam up and fail to go in to battery. All 147 copper jacketed round nose run fine, rarely does it choke on anything now. The Rival is good to go now, I did add a tungsten guide rod and glock return spring, it's not quite as picky on ammo, but I've only shot it a few times. Has anyone polish their feed ramps and/or had the barrel mouth "customized" to allow truncated cone / flat point ammo? (My apologies in advance if some of my nomenclature is incorrect).
  3. We Florida bro's clean ours before, during and after the matches thanks to the (very often) sugar-ey sand and loose-loamy type of surfaces we have here in the Gunshine state.
  4. Please do, I'm really interested in this, can you also post a pic of the packaging of the actual ring you used?
  5. I sent both barrels (Rival and Rival-S) out to PD to have them reamed, so we'll see how it goes once they return and I get back to testing. As an FYI, patriotdefense.com is having a sale right now (Black Friday) for 30% off their reaming service using code: PD30 ($17.99 savings, so definitely worth it) https://patriotdefense.com/patriot-defense-9mm-barrel-reaming-hard-coating-melonite-dlc/
  6. My gums are happy, so look on the bright side... !
  7. Terrible design would be understatement... I've been swapping parts (including the slide release button) from my Rival-S > a polymer Rival. It took me over an hour to get the pin back in on a polymer frame Rival this weekend, and that was following the online uTube vids. When I tried the same method on the steel frame, it just flat wouldn't work. The steel doesn't have the "grip" that the polymer material has and it wasn't working. I read your dental floss idea and had it done in less than 10 minutes and that's having to wrap the floss twice, as I didn't get the pin compressed quite enough on the 1st wrap and had to redo it. I didn't have to cut the floss, just unwound it once the pin was set in to the slide release holes. Good2go!! THANK YOU for posting this!!
  8. @WxGuy Thank you for that, definitely a difference here and doing it side by side really shows the difference. Any idea of those plunger parts are interchangeable?
  9. Do you mind post pics of both and the measurements? I'd really like to see this, please.
  10. Please take some pics and show some specifics, I'd really like to see exactly what you're doing to fix the issues.
  11. This is good news and I for one am glad to see you followed up and owned up. Mistakes happen and you're a stand up guy for standing corrected. Kudos to you, good Sir.

    Shadow 2 locked up

This is a real drag to hear, I have a fair amount of the syntech ammo and have for the most part had zero problems with it, otherwise. I shot a match today, used factory fags w/MBX springs / followers + henning base plates, and 147 copper jacketed match chub ammo, zero issues. Success, at last.

    Shadow 2 locked up

There's also the MBX mag issue, that may be part of it as well... This gun seems to be picky on certain ammo and even more so with the overpriced MBX mags. I'm learning here, albeit the hard way!
  14. I went with this holster and I should have gone with the 5" model so the barrel wouldn't be hanging out and it would probably just fit better overall. Just an FYI for anyone who comes across this thread. The 4.5" works, the 5" should be perfect.
  15. I have one on my older XDm and love it. It reminds me of the Sig flat trigger and paired with the blue (competition) striker and trigger springs, it really shines as a great setup.
