Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Does anybody else get a tuning fork sound when they run the slide or shoot a live round? I thought maybe it was jsut me but today at the range one of the other guys shooting could hear it also. I ran it several times checking different parts of the pistol to see if I could get the ring to stop after running the slide. The only way I could get it to stop was touching the hammer. As soon as it did the ring would stop. The hammer is not loose in anyway I could tell no back and forth, The only part that has any back and forth (left and right) is the beaver tail and that should not ring with a firing grip. I am thinking maybe the 3rd leg on the sear spring?
  2. Not sure how M’boro TN got on the list but other than it doesn’t have a place to have a major shooting event, it would not be bad. Hour to BNA, and down town Nashville. Plenty of touristy stuff to do and only 2 hours from me. It’s got my vote.
  3. Should be doing my deposit this coming month, if the Gov don’t shut down.
  4. Just double checked Apr 20+21. Not sure what the rules are here yet so I wont risk getting in trouble posting a link to something like that but you can check it out on his web site.
  5. That would be about 6 hours for me. A bit far for a level 1. I think Bluegrass is where Tim Herron is having a class in April that I am planning on going to. So far I have only done 2 level 2 matches other than my normal level 1 locals. Next year I plan on branching out though. I was going to go to ALA lasts weekend but the time line didn’t work out with work. Next year I plan on doing at least TN, AL, and KY sectionals and maybe the area 5 up in Ohio. I finally got my RO so I am trying to get some work in to volunteer for Nationals. I wonder where LO will fit in, I guess in race gun.
  6. Last year I shot the Atomic Blast there and worked it as an RO. Pretty nice place. Couple of weeks ago I shot way up in Owensboro KY. About 2 hours for me but was a nice club and great folks.
  7. Do you shoot any matches in the central or central/western end of the state? It would be great to get together at a match. Im in the Clarksville area of TN so the other side of KY.
  8. 18 Weeks, 5 days here. Spoke with them last week and they told me that had some issues with the SS grips but mine is in build and should be ready this week or next. It would be great to have it in hand when the govt shuts down and I have time to go hit the range with it.
  9. Nice set up. Now that is has been a while are you still liking it as much?
  10. That’s what I try to do, and works like a charm in all my dryfire. During dryfire I never go to the second pouch, but for what ever reason during a match I go there 4 out of 5 times. The odd thing is during the stage I had the unintentional mag change, I sent straight to the center mag, like I should have done on the first reload.
  11. One of the other things I noticed that that I am going for my middle magazine for reloads during matches. Not sure why all of my dry fire practice I am going for the front one (on center line) but then in matches I go for the middle? May just end up moving some stuff around on the belt.
