  1. Does anybody else get a tuning fork sound when they run the slide or shoot a live round? I thought maybe it was jsut me but today at the range one of the other guys shooting could hear it also. I ran it several times checking different parts of the pistol to see if I could get the ring to stop after running the slide. The only way I could get it to stop was touching the hammer. As soon as it did the ring would stop. The hammer is not loose in anyway I could tell no back and forth, The only part that has any back and forth (left and right) is the beaver tail and that should not ring with a firing grip. I am thinking maybe the 3rd leg on the sear spring?
  2. Not sure how M’boro TN got on the list but other than it doesn’t have a place to have a major shooting event, it would not be bad. Hour to BNA, and down town Nashville. Plenty of touristy stuff to do and only 2 hours from me. It’s got my vote.
  3. Should be doing my deposit this coming month, if the Gov don’t shut down.
  4. Just double checked Apr 20+21. Not sure what the rules are here yet so I wont risk getting in trouble posting a link to something like that but you can check it out on his web site.
  5. That would be about 6 hours for me. A bit far for a level 1. I think Bluegrass is where Tim Herron is having a class in April that I am planning on going to. So far I have only done 2 level 2 matches other than my normal level 1 locals. Next year I plan on branching out though. I was going to go to ALA lasts weekend but the time line didn’t work out with work. Next year I plan on doing at least TN, AL, and KY sectionals and maybe the area 5 up in Ohio. I finally got my RO so I am trying to get some work in to volunteer for Nationals. I wonder where LO will fit in, I guess in race gun.
  6. Last year I shot the Atomic Blast there and worked it as an RO. Pretty nice place. Couple of weeks ago I shot way up in Owensboro KY. About 2 hours for me but was a nice club and great folks.
  7. Do you shoot any matches in the central or central/western end of the state? It would be great to get together at a match. Im in the Clarksville area of TN so the other side of KY.
  8. 18 Weeks, 5 days here. Spoke with them last week and they told me that had some issues with the SS grips but mine is in build and should be ready this week or next. It would be great to have it in hand when the govt shuts down and I have time to go hit the range with it.
  9. Nice set up. Now that is has been a while are you still liking it as much?
  10. That’s what I try to do, and works like a charm in all my dryfire. During dryfire I never go to the second pouch, but for what ever reason during a match I go there 4 out of 5 times. The odd thing is during the stage I had the unintentional mag change, I sent straight to the center mag, like I should have done on the first reload.
  11. One of the other things I noticed that that I am going for my middle magazine for reloads during matches. Not sure why all of my dry fire practice I am going for the front one (on center line) but then in matches I go for the middle? May just end up moving some stuff around on the belt.
  12. I will look into them. Noticed you are in the ATL area. I lived there for many years. Still have in-laws up in Loganville. Was going to volunteer to RO the GA sectional this year (could stay at my brother in-laws) but the cancelled it.
  13. I was trying to lead with my eye and I noticed on the 1st steel I was jerking the trigger and causing this hits on the rack rather than the plate. Thanks for the advice.
  14. I know there are a bunch of USPSA/IPSC shooters here. I am fighting my way to a higher level as most of us that are not GMs probably are. I recently made B in LO in fact I am still trying to bump off 3 C class scores. I have started recording as many of my stages as I can get with the Shooters Gobal timer and this week added a GoPro on my head. Watching them back at regular and then .25 speed I am seeing many things I did not realize during the shooting or even with buddies just recording with a phone. What I have been working on is making sure the gun is up and on target before getting into a position, getting my draw speed down and if possible combining it with other movements like stepping into the shooting area. The other thing I have been working on is making sure I am getting into a position low enough to be stable with enough range of motion to engage all targets without having to shuffle my feet. What I am seeing adding the head mount camera is that I seem to start moving out of position before breaking my last shots on target. Not sure If I am moving my head and leaving my eyes on target or just getting the dot on brown and then pulling on a wish while I am moving. Either way I am sure it is costing me points. First I will say I know I need to work on explosive movement, I am over 50 and a bit round. 34 years in the military has left me with bad knees so I am as quick and nimble as I used to be. If anybody has the time and would like to throw in some constructive input it would be greatly appreciated. While this year is winding down, I have plans on shooting at least 1 state sectional and the Area 5 match next year. Also if anybody knows a coach in the middle TN (CLarksville/Nashville area) drop a name for me to research. Right now I have plans to go to one of the coaching sessions at GlockStore and Tim Herron’s class next year in KY. Here is a link to the playlist for yesterday’s match. For what its work in the POV view of the 5th stage, I drop the F bomb when I realized I had initiated an unplanned and unnecessary reload. Also on the 3rd stage I had a complete brain fart and started the star at the bottom and to top that off I went plate on the star to paper then back to the star twice. The other thing I noticed is that while I did have the gun up most of the time before I got into position, I had to go back and reshoot that target because I either had 2 bad hits or no hits at all. This happened at least 2 times. So let them fly. I don’t wear my feelings on my shoulders when it comes to shooting and I understand that to get better I have to hear what I am doing wrong and sometimes that hurts. Thanks in advance for any help you guys are willing to give.
  15. Forgot to mention I am adding an oversize mag release. Not sure if I will use a BC or the Bul that is round with an off set hole to make fine adjustment.
  16. I also ordered the shielded safeties as I ride the safety too. Especially one handed. I ordered the Dawson guide rod when I ordered the gun so I have that in hand already. Currently I am using it in my Bul but the Bul has the keyed spring cup. It still works but there is no rim to catch the guide rod so if you are not carful you can sling it across the room, or garage, or the range. I ordered mine with the C-More RTS2 12 MOA. Currently running the 507 Comp and love the bigger dot. Hopefully the 12 wont be too big. If it is I guess I’ll order the RMR plate from them and swap the 507 comp over.
  17. For those folks that have actually received one I have a couple of questions. Are the safeties the traditional angle or are they like the Atlas or Wilson high grip safeties? Also is it a standard spring plug or is it one of those with the key on top that fits under the barrel? The 2 upgrades I have been thinking about right out of the box are a tool-less guide rod and the Atlas high angle shielded safety.
  18. Received this morning, ” Your build sheet has been started and will be in the final assmbly stages early next week. -- Thanks, Caleb“ I ordered on 17 May Grip Color: (SS) Black Grip Texture: S3 (Most Aggressive) Trigger Shoe Color: Blue Trigger Shoe Length: Short Frame/Slide Color: Silver Control Parts Color: Silver Barrel Color: Polished Silver Magwell Color: Black Optics Plate: Trijicon Slide Stop Type: Nitro Fin 2.0 - Silver
  19. I have 3 for single stack, 3 for Sig, and 3 for 2011 (140mm). The only issue I have had with any of them is repeated dropping them on concrete floor and one of the Sig ones split. The 2011 ones work with my BA Tac 5 which is weird because Bul and STI mags are not interchangeable.
  20. Hey guys new here. How does the LOC shoot? I ordered mine back in May. Talked to them today and the builder has it right now. They say he turns about about 3-4 per week so hopefully I will have it by the time the govt shuts down.
