I have 3 PPC revolvers but wanted to build one myself

I like the look of the old school PPC revolvers...

first time out, needs a little more sight adjustment, a tuned load and a lot of triggertime... (50m reduced target, shot indoor)

When I shot PPC the load :-

148gr HBWC - stay away from Speer because they are too soft.

2.8gr Bullseye

Federal SP Primers

If you are a WW231 lover, then use 3.0gr WW231.

Forgot - a beautiful revolver.

First off, nice revolver!

I have had my Bill Davis PPC revolver for almost 30 years and the 2.7-2.8 Bullseye load is hard to beat in it.  I have tried other fast burning pistol powders and had success with them also.  In your case the Vit 310 is the proper burn rate of powder,  I would see about trying different bullets like a 148.  I have shot lighter weights in mine and had success with them but the 148 is hard to beat.

I am having really good results with 138 gr. Bayou Bullets wadcutters. The polymer coating cuts down on leading and smoke and they are shooting 1 to 1-1/2" groups at 50 yds. out of my PPC and Open class Bianchi guns. The Bianchi gun has a 1 in 10 Walther barrel, the PPC gun has a 1 in 10 Douglass barrel. I am running these bullets at 920 FPS, don't remember the powder charge right now.
