Urbe
anyone have re-loading data for Winchester 231 powder using l24gr JHP/FMJ with Win small pistol primers, re-used brass... for shooting in G19 Glock ? my Lyman manual does not state any data for the forementioned.. thanks, I've been using the charts from this site and have played around with different numbers. Although the site doesn't list 124 they do list 125 for 231. I've been running 4.4 and haven't had any problems. www DOT hodgdon DOT com (I'm not allowed to put links in posts yet) then click on Data, loading data and it will take you do their loading database. polizei
Search around, there is plenty of data. There was a thread very recently asking almost the exact same thing. Granted I'm shooting a 1911, but I'm using 4.5gr of 231 using a PD 124gr FMJ OAL at 1.140" with a PF of 135.
DRobson
Lately I've been using I'm using 4.4gr of W231 under a PD 124gr FMJ with a 1.145 OAL. I shoot this in a M&P, Glock 34, and a 2011.
noylj
Almost every reloading manual in the known universe would have data for that combo. Have you read any? You are NOT going to find any manuals that SPECIFICALLY have loads with Win SPP and mixed brass. Just remember, after reading the manual(s), to always start at the lowest starting load you can find and work the load up carefully.
ohsevenflhx
I am trying to find my favorite load for 124gr 9mm for minor. I have tried Solo 1000, W231, Universal, Titegroup, and WSF. So far, for the same power factor, W231 has the most harsh recoil.
SPDGG
Here is what I use, YMMV. * ALWAYS Load with Caution & Load Up not Down during Testing/Eval. Yep i did read my Lyman manual (the latest copy) and it did --- NOT --- state a load for 124 gr using W231 powder..
noylj
Then, it wasn't one of the "almost" every manual. Might need to move to slightly older manuals as the newest ones tend to want to include new powders, figuring you can get their owl manuals for old powders. Here is my compilation. I start at the lowest start load and work up to the lowest Max load. If performance isn't there and I have no pressure signs (including comparing recoil to factory loads), I cautiously move up.
