Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Bumping this because I come across it when researching the kit. I think its intended for rifle shooters that do not need the blast shield on front. I got mine yesterday from shooters to install on my 15-22 and noticed that its made to fit next to the scope cover and come up with this solution and theory.
  2. I have one set up with a DPP. I have run the Atlanta Arms 100gr 109ish pf stuff through it and up to 135pf stuff with 100% reliability. I'm using a Jager .270 guide rod and Wolff 12lb spring.
  3. I was beating my head against the wall with this thing. It wasn't going in battery most of the time....until I checked this with a plunk test. Apparently the SA barrels can be tight. 5/50 rounds from a box actually fit. So my new question is are the KKM barrels drop in or require fitting? Are their chambers decent? I have them in glocks and work great, the "big" rounds fit no problem. Or option two - Does anyone know someone in the Atlanta area that can ream this factory barrel?
  4. Thanks for the responses everyone. I ended up just grabbing the Atlas Gunworks tune pack with 7 to 11lbs and both of the mainsprings from shooters connection.
  5. I recently entered into the 1911 world with a Springfield Range Officer Target in 9mm. I plan on going with an EGW ignition kit and not sure which main spring to go with. I will be shooting almost exclusively Atlanta Arms 100gr/1090fps loads in steel challenge. So the question is do I go with the 17 or 19 lb main spring? What about recoil spring for something this low? The Wilson Combat site is showing 115-120pf for a 8lb spring, so do I go down to 7?
  6. Thats what I ended up going with too. Only got to shoot it one match due to magazines being impossible to find for retail prices. Even with the speed loader its a pain in the ass to have to reload mid stage and get out of the groove!
  7. Has anyone installed a JP module in their 15-22? I have the roller trigger on a GMR-15 and would like to have the same trigger on both guns if its possible.
  8. I ordered a JP and got it in this week. It was my first high end gun and blew my mind how nice everything feels. I have the new vertical port comp and the dot barely moves.
  9. I will probably go with 2 optics then. Which quick release mounts are you guys using specifically?
  10. Do you switch out the module each time? Does this mess with your zero?
  11. I have shot a few matches with pistols. With a 6 moa cmore, 3 moa venom, and 6 moa venom. Both of the 6's work fine I only replaced the cmore with the 6 moa venom simply for weight on a rimfire pistol. Brightness of the dot seemed to be more important for me. The 3moa venom was fine until the sun came out and then the dot basically went away. I dont have that issue with a 2.5moa dpp, so thats why I think the brightness is more important. I have seen other eotechs and they seem to be extremely bright so I wasn't sure if the smaller dot would matter. I have kind of bad eyes so the dot looks gigantic no matter what!
  12. Has anyone shot Steel Challenge with a Eotech XPS2-1? I was looking for some feedback specifically steel challege/pcc related. I will be shooting mostly Steel Challenge with some indoor USPSA/USARMS weekday matches. So I'm torn between the XPS2and C-More railway. I figure the C-More would be better for SC but maybe the XPS2 would be better for the other stuff and still reasonably good for SC.
  13. It does dissolve some but mostly makes it easier to pick out. I put mine in a sealed container and put that container in my ultrasonic cleaner with water in it. Runs for about 20 min and its 90-95% cleaned of 22lr lead. The rest picks off fairly easy with a dental pick. Jacketed ammo is a whole lot cleaner so should take less time and effort.
  14. It shouldn't bother the finish on the aluminum one. I have a tandem kross aluminum comp on my open rimfire gun and its been in the bath a few times. The finish is still fine, it just ate up the aluminum right around the exit hole.
  15. The peroxide/vinegar definitely works well. Just use it in a well ventilated area. It will eat away at aluminum though!
